Incompetent store manager and cashier. He told me he couldn't accept my samsung pay because he couldn't check ID and he could get his dad's phone and just buy something without his permission. The bald cashier with glasses man I then proceeded to ask if he could take his dad's phone and first of all unlock it, using pin or fingerprint and then type in a secondary pin if he made an alternate just to pay for your purchase? I'm sorry did you put your fingerprint in your dad's personal cellphone so you could use it in that way? Of course he said no...he couldn't unlock his dad's phone.. For now, it's a better organized Ross. I went shopping for undergarments here and things were actually organized by sizes and it was easy to find what I wanted. On this point alone, I will give them 4 stars. Please, try to go to the Ross next door and tell me you can find your size amongst the mixed rack. Pretty impossible. So at TJ Maxx, I was able to find what I wanted right away without looking through every single item. So even if you don't find what you want or it's too pricey for you, at least you don't have to spend the better half of a day to realize you're not going to buy something after all. It's a time saver. So I hope they keep up their organization and make a point to keep the store in order. read more

With Ross next door, this place gets overlooked as a great place to find deals. Obviously, most Ross stores are never the most organized place in the neighborhood. The one next to this one is one of the most distraught that I have seen. However, this TJ Maxx provides comfort in being only partially in disarray. I came here for Christmas shopping. What I loved was how clean looking it was for a discount store. The only section that gave me trouble was the toy section. Also, the place was not very crowded for early December. Granted, it was in the middle of a day, in the middle of the week, in the middle of a plaza with a Ross next door...but, l digress! Point is: I like Ross, too. Always great steals in clearance, found so many wedding gifts here (Donald Trump ties for $2 - hello?!) and then some. Be patient, have some time on your hands, and you can do the same. All the departments have their clearance sections built in, and it's such a great find, especially during/after the holidays; mark downs go waaaay down. This tj maxx is pretty good, they are always getting new merchandise, they get some good stuff too! I bought a Nike fuel band here for 40 bucks! That like 100 bucks off regular price. There is always good deals here. The only complaint I have about this location is that it can get messy, people are animals here lol and also it's kind of small, other than that it's great! I must say this... the bathroom inside the store was beyond disgusting... there was a cockroach inside crawling and when I told them nicely about the issue there response was that it will be cleaned tomorrow because frankly no one wants to clean the restroom. I love that the store is clean and clothes aren't laying all over the place! The sales people aren't quick to walk up to u but are helpful when you seek them out. The shoe selection could be bigger and have more large sizes but there were other areas that made up for it. The handbag selection is cool but some is a bit too pricey for a TJMaxx. They get new bags everyday but Sunday so always check in! If they had more shoes, more black bags to choose from, and a trendier young adult section I would have given them another star. Either way, this place is great. Parking can suck at times though. read more

First impression was open floor plan and very organized considering it's a very popular location! Came in here with a friend who was in very desperate need of a new handbag. We searched a couple stores and found what she wanted....because the bags are locked up for security reasons we had to call someone for help getting it off the shelf. They have a push for help button which got us nowhere. What really got me was that a worker who was leaned up against the escalator on the second floor just watched me push the button as I made eye contact with her! After 10 minutes of waiting my friend looked for someone to help no one in sight. I finally walked to the registers and waited in line to ask for help for the 3rd time! Wtf works here?! read more

I love TJ MAXX, they sell items at lower cost. However, this location has disastrously poor management. Avoid if possible. Lots of foot traffic to this small location and the situation is not helped by lack of staff and equipment. I had an online return(multiple items) so i came into this store. Once it was my turn they told me to wait cause the customer before me had another online return. It seems they can do only 1 online return at any time. After 15 min wait, the manager pulled the cashier away for another 5 min talk. Finally, it took another 10 min to process my return. So there may be a 30 min wait for your online return not including the time you wait in line! read more

TJ Maxx - 2nd floor - Department Stores Near Me - Glendale, California

Alright, so the likes of Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Louboutin, Dior, and Canali may not be some of the high-end designer labels sold here, but there are some more affordable designer labels at reasonable prices. I took a stroll into this new TJ Maxx and was shocked that it has two levels. Ahem, that was the only shock factor for me. In terms of finding fashions, in my opinion, that were head-turning or pleasing to the eye, was a little far-fetched here. In addition, the staff, including the manager, gave strong and unfriendly looks at the customers. These looks weren't followed by a greeting, and not even a "may I help you" gesture. Well, though there were some "known designer" labels here, again, none were strikingly impressive, which is probably why they're in this store and marked down. I've been to other TJ Maxx stores before and have seen a much better selection. With these hot temperatures, I decided to look for a pair of shorts. Surprisingly, I found one pair of shorts at a "steal of a deal". Since this is a new store in the area, I just thought I'd patronize it and I'm sure I may go again, but not in the not-too-distant future. read more

An OUTSTANDING experience, due to an employee, more than a cashier, who helped me in, alas, a fruitless search for the Marc Jacobs Jacket i had seen just the night before! Thank you Ani B;I went to TJMaxx, never dreaming they carried designers like Marc, but there it was-for an expensive but tremendous discount-and when I went back the very next morning at 9 AM the jacket was gone. Did someone buy it? I don't know, but Ani went to the back and couldn't' find it, told me about the website (!) and tried to call the La Canada store, where they had none like the one I had described. I"m still upset-because I can't believe it just was sold-like that, but why not. i'm not the only one with good taste, obviously who shops at TJMaxx. Boo hoo. I may go back this week to see if it has suddenly reappeared-but at least one EMPLOYEE, Ani B, was willing to help an old lady with bags look for something that was just GORGEOUS!! Sequins, orange, bugle beads, etcetc. And I agree with the other reviewers, the designer duds they have at TJ MAxx, are MUCH MUCH better than next door at Ross or upstairs at Nordstrom's RACK, BUT i did find another pair of UGG's there. read more

Not a very good TJ MAXX, way better than the Ross, but not as good as the Rack in the same development. Generally each TJ has a something special that you can always find a good deal on, this TJ has no such great deal section. The La Canada one has great home supplies and upscale fashions. This place is a total disaster. It looks like there is a huge selection... the reality is there's a handful of choices in each size and it's all crammed into a tiny store. Still no excuse for only one star, right? Well, what really pissed me off was the 25 minute conversation that an employee had, trash talking the United States. The employee clearly wasn't born here. She was blabbing on about what's wrong with "THIS country" and how unsafe it is to raise children here and how much better her country is. By all means... GO BACK! I'm sure there are proud Americans who would be happy to take her job. And actually earn their money working instead of openly bashing "THIS country". Before you assume that my issue is with the fact that she is from another country, let me mention that my boyfriend is also from another country and has only been here 11 years. I bought a watch here on an impulse. I ended up getting a better one at Nordstrom, so I went back to return it, and the cashier (middle-aged Armenian lady) was yelling at me because she said I was supposed to return it to the "jewelry section." I was not aware of this, since I did not purchase this from the "jewelry section" (it was displayed in the front beside the bags), and there was not a single sign anywhere saying that jewelries need to be returned at the jewelry section. Even if there were signs, there's no excuse for her behavior. She could have told me (the customer) politely. The saleslady in the jewelry section was also rude. I didn't know that I would be treated like a criminal for simply returning an item (in the same condition as it was when I bought it, as I never used it). It's a Sunday evening and there were only two registers open for a long line where 15 customers were patiently waiting for a line that wasn't moving. Everyone was frustrated including myself. The person who wrung me up was very nice and polite. When I first entered the line there were 3 customers in front of me, yet it took 20 minutes to check out. Please staff according on w-ends. Great store. I've found some hidden treasures here, from Givenchy shoes to La Perla bras. Just a heads up, if you try to return something from an online purchase such as sheet sets or other home goods items, they made up their own policy of not accepting it because they don't have that particular department in the store. I called the corporate office to ask if this was their policy and they said "absolutely not". They said they would talk to the manager at this particular store to make sure that the employees know that they can indeed accept home good item returns that were purchased on the TJMaxx website ( unless it specifically says on the receipt that it is a mail in return only). This TJMax is one of my fav. They always have something cool in designer's section. ALways Prada of Gucci bags. I saw YSL bags couple of times. Shoes section is terrible. Once I got Ralph Lauren Sandals for $30 but that's all. Cheap designers for shoes. Glasses are not good also. I like clothes and soups areas. there are always plenty of nice stuff to choose from. Customer service is ok thus I have never talk or ask anybody about anything. read more

The layout is so weird and there really is no rhyme or reason for why things are where they are...except, of course, for the handbags which they have TONS of. This place used to be one of my favorite shopping place because its very close to my house. However today i had a terrible experience at this store with the male manager named Daron or Darron whatever his name is. I bought 2 bags from different location yesterday, n decided to return one so i went to this location because its close to my house. Daron the manager said i have to go to the store that it was purchased without an clear excuse. What the?!?!? So lets say u bought something at a different state, is that mean u have to go back to that state to return or exchange?!?! So i went to the original store n explained what happened, the employees n manager there said it is not fair how they didn't take a return when it's in perfect condition withe the receipt. I was always going to tjmaxx once a week and spend a lot of money n bought so many things but this was the first time i had to go back to the original store to return an item lol. Tjx rewards sucks. The rewards certificate did not work in the store so sales associate said to call card rewards so they can issue a new one. Called customer service and they said reward is expired by 18 minutes. Those minutes were wasted because the store wasted time, then calling them and listening to their automated service and on hold waiting for a live person, there goes the 18 minutes. Then the account manager is trying to lecture me on when I should have used the coupon. This is the time I could shop again. It is not his prerogative on when I should use the reward certificate.
