I've been going to this TJ Maxx every now and then for a couple of years. I had to do an online return (online returns take forever at any TJ Maxx because their store system doesn't match their online system) so went after work at night (I'm not off until 8:50). I arrived there and it was taking awhile since it was an online return. A woman (manager?) was helping out the nice girl who was doing my return and told me that I shouldn't go that late at night to do a return because they close at 9:30. I'm not off again until 8:50. Those are more work hours and I'm not driving to/from a TJ Maxx early in the morning (and when they are even busier!) because the workers hate online returns. read more

I bought a backpack that must've been over $50 less than a month ago. Within two weeks the zipper was broken and I could no longer affectively use the backpack. Soon after I traveled to TJ Maxx in Granada Hills and waited in there typical mile long line only to be told by the operations manager that I could not exchange my backpack. She said that I had to wait until Monday in order to call the one 800 number. I have been shopping at this TJ Maxx for years. The sales staff is outstanding and I have never had an issue exchanging any item. The only reason I typically return an item at TJ Maxx in Granada Hills is because it either falls apart in a day it breaks shortly after purchase. I can tell you I will never ever go to the TJ Maxx in Granada Hills again. I have spent thousands of dollars at that store and the operations manager had the audacity to indicate that perhaps I was lying about the situation. She gave me no resolution. I love the location of this TJ Maxx because there are sooooo many other stores around it as well as eateries. It is located across from Michael's and Tuesday Morning and in the same plaza as Home Goods and Pick Up Stix. I don't love the layout of the store...it looks somewhat sloppy and disorganized...but they have a decent selection of items. Overall...I will keep coming back every once in a while to see if they have anything worth buying. read more

I really like TJ Maxx as compared to Ross. Their store is always clean and organized. Not ever a ghetto mess like Ross. Selection varies on when you go but I always seem to find what I'm looking for. While the sections inside this store have been moved around over the years, I don't think they've bothered to make it look better. The dressing rooms seem to have gotten WORSE: you can't even lock the door, it just shuts, kind of, and you have to hope someone bothers to look for feet before barging in. The lighting is depressingly fluorescent and unflattering. The men's section seems forthright, the women's sections are confusing. Everything's mixed up, you go from one rack to the next and you've gone from exercise clothes to knit suits or something; it begins and ends at random. The selection overall sucks, and yesterday, somehow, the single small rack of skirts covered sizes 14-16...and there were no other racks. We looked all over. Huh? It's not like skirts would be a tough sell. They still had plenty of jeans, though, which would probably be good if that's what you needed because of the many brands. But I have jeans. I needed skirts. The ONE thing this TJ Maxx has always been good for is silver jewelry. For some reason, they tend to get some very unique and often cool pieces. In high school, I got most of my gothy rings there, and yesterday there were some really interesting necklaces (I couldn't pull them off, but if you're artsy and over 40, you could). I'm giving TJ Maxx an extra star for that, but clothing-wise, they aren't worth my time. read more

After going to Ross, I tried out this place. I was recommended it by a friend and had forgotten it was even available. Actually, I can't say I've ever been to TJ Maxx in the past. This was likely my very first time. The prices here match Ross and Marshalls, but the comforter sets are a little more expensive. I think the selection was a little more decent for comforters too but I just didn't see anything that struck me as I should have it. In the very back of this store was a bunch of kitchen and home stuff as well. Very well organized and kept up. If I want a decent set of silverware, this place has a bunch of great stuff for half the price you'd find at Macy's or JC Penney's and it's decent quality. I'm glad I rediscovered this store, it's worth the trip back. Oh, so why only 3 stars? Because I didn't find a good comforter set, I wasn't overly impressed by anything in particular but I'm sure in the future I would buy something from here. read more

Great Place to go hunting for everything from Fashion to home goods. Although if i really wanted Home Goods, I would walk over to their Home Goods sister store in the same shopping complex. You never know what kind of new name brand and designer clothes you are going to find when you walk in. Great for Men's fashion when you are looking for variety or a great deal. You are going to need alittle bit of patience and luck. I have been to many other nice TJ Maxx stores and this one was just ok. I guess you can say that it gets the job done. Yes this place was a little unorganized, but it's not too bad compared to other places. Prices are great and they have wonderful items for purchase. The only issue I had with this store was the service. The lady working at the jewelry department was completely rude to me. She was dealing with another customer while I had waited fro her to finish, she took one look at me and turned away knowing that I needed assistance. A minute later she approached another customer who came after me. I was so upset that I had to walk away. I had felt completely ignored. I have noticed that the service overall lacks good customer service and it was not just the lady at the jewelry department, it was also the cashiers. The store's management is not great. Not only un-professional but there is an ego involved. i bought a pair of jeans that torn on me the first time I had worn them. It was around a $100 purchase so I though I could return them since quality is bad. I brought them back as any customer would. The manager refused to take it even after I tried explaining that this is the quality issue. I left the jeans at the store saying I don't need them but she followed me out of the store and pushed them back to me saying she can't keep them in the store. She was angry. This TJ Maxx has definitely gotten better over the years, they recently renovated it, and it is much cleaner, bigger, and most importantly, much more organized now...Thank goodness! You can find great "designer" items for cheaper, only if you search for a while. The staff is so-so. They are either very helpful and friendly or just plain old mean and useless. The registers are high tech-ish now...they have numbers on each register that point to the next available representative. Helps with keeping the lines moving at a constant rate so it doesn't get too crowded. Right now there is some construction going on within the shopping center, so the parking can be tricky because part of the lot is closed. read more

In comparison to other discount department stores, it is fairly much the same. I don't like that they have some items really randomly priced higher. Most of their sunglasses were like $10 - $15, but one pair was $60. Uh... this isn't Fossil... Other than that, it is relatively tidy. read more

BEST customer service with the AMAZING Aria (he is a guy- so hope that was his name) He really helped my BFF and I find luggage! We weren't sure what to get but he had a few suggestions that worked perfect for our personalities and what we needed. Then he carried all our different bags/luggage to the front and helped load it in our car! Really never expected that and SO appreciate that attitude and going the extra mile! Oh the noise. Came in around 8:00pm to grab some inexpensive luggage. The store wasn't the cleanest but cleaner than most TJ's or Ross stores that I have been to. Te selection was ok but the shelves seemed unkept and the workers were pushing around these horribly loud trolly carts that sounded like a banshee dry-heaving after a Vegas bachelor party. I saw a little girl covering her ears as it passed by. I will say that the women's shoe collection was very well kept. The woman I had at the checkout was forgettable and not kind or welcoming but her coworker at the register next to us was very polite. All things said and done, this store had average selection, after maintenance and average customer service. By the way, the entire front of the store is being renovated which should be good for the future of this store. read more

I go to shop here often first it's because closer to my home and 2nd it's next to sprout market which is perfect for me as I do my grocery shopping after coming to TJ Maxx. However customer service is not nice here and and the return policy is ridiculous. One time I bought a dress and came home and tried it on again as it seems tight for me. The next day i tried to return it and they didn't take it back because according to them there's a dirt on the front collar I talked to manager and he made the same decision as the register . That dirt was from my make up so obviously that got into the collar after I tried it on. I was pissed and thought to clean it and maybe return to other store but they took the tag off so now the tight dress stuck with me useless. I wish TJ Maxx open another one in Northridge area and with a nice and considering manager and employees. read more

This TJ Maxx isn't one of the biggest but it does have a great selection. The set up is easy and organized though so it's easy to find what you are looking for. I come here a lot for work out clothes, yoga clothes and also cooking supplies and sauces. Their deals are great! Yoga mats are as cheap as $8.99 and they're good brands too. They even have Nike yoga mats that are way cheaper than the retail price. The sauces are to die for! My fiancé and I bought a couple of barbecue sauces as well as pesto sauces and sun dried tomatoes in olive oil and these were the best we've ever tried! They are amazing! The shoes and clothes section aren't too bad either. I bought Taylor Swift keds for $30.00 which is decent price but they were Keds that were hard to find. Super cute! You will definitely score some cute finds if you take the time to shop around :) read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I'm extremely upset at TJ Maxx. I bought a purse as a gift, but had to return it because the person I bought it for already had the same color. I called this TJ Maxx in advanced to see if I can still return something if I had the receipt, but not the tag. They said yes. So when I went in to return the purse, the employer/manager said the item didn't match the receipt. WTF. So maybe it's not the employers' fault, they're just following the rules. But WHY WOULD YOU SELL ME SOMETHING AND GIVE ME A RECEIPT WITH A NUMBER THAT DOESN'T MATCH THE ITEM??? Ok, nice going TJ Maxx, very cool. Jeez. I picked up a few neat baskets and one had no pricetag and was clearly damaged. My cashier couldnt get the help of her managers for about 15 mins and then I was haggled with on the price. Customer service is the pits. They let you stand and wait while both cashier are available. They would go off to put away shopping carts and merchandise while you wait for the only cashier left working....who is excessively chatty with her bbf customer...clueless that people are waiting for her. #1. waiting on customer should be first...putting away stuff can wait. Unless you are PREJUDICE. #2. friendly is one thing but carrying on an excessive personal conversation with ONE customer while the OTHERS waiting is UNPROFESSIONAL. I spent an hour and a half yesterday shopping and when I went to pay I was told I was not allowed to use my mothers credit card so they put all my items on hold. Overall I'm a fan of this place. It's pretty close to where my parents live so I've been coming here for years. It can be hit or miss, because the merchandise they get is never predictable and sometimes they have better things than other times. They recently enlarged their designer section, so they have tons of designer clothes you can buy for pretty good prices. Some of the regular designers they seem to carry are Theory, Diane Von Furstenburg, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and you can usually find a wide variety of others. I like to come here to buy clothes and also toys for my dog because they have great prices and a huge selection. Their clearance deals can also be a great deal, like the DVF wrap dress I found here today for only $44. The only major downside of this place is it can get insanely crowded so sometimes it takes a long time to check out. The other nice thing is that there's also their sister store HomeGoods in the same shopping center so you can hit both in the same trip. read more

I really dislike coming to this TJ Maxx, mostly because of the location. Unlike the fancy schmancy new ventura blvd location, this location is in an older part of Granada Hills, in an old shopping center that they are currently remodeling, so it looks a little run down. The inside of the store could use some remodeling too. Inside, it looks like it hasn't changed since it first opened (bare white walls and bare carpeting). The dressings room are pretty big though. They have a huge selection but its mostly lower end brands, I didn't see many high end brands amongst their selection. I'd recommend going to the ventura blvd. location because it's a nicer store, in a nicer area and has a much nicer selection. read more

Decent TJ Maxx - clothes are organized well, great selection of purses and shoes, and plenty of stuff for my daughter and dog! The shopping complex is undergoing major renovations, so the parking lot is a little difficult at times, but at least it's temporary. Only negative: Beware the slightly off-kilter, crazy lady who doesn't like for her stuff or for herself to be even touched! She went off on my 22-month old today, swearing up a storm, cursing that she hates germs and hoped that my daughter's doll did not contaminate her, and ranting about how we ruined her day and possibly life! Customer service at it's worse! Avoid this TJ Maxx if possible but if not and if paying by cash, please make sure to bring exact change or one of their associates will sure to have an attitude with you. Unfortunately this was what I had to deal with today. I myself offered not to except the change in coins but wanted to make sure that I would be getting my paper change back since it would be around $10.00 plus. I know about the coin shortage due to COVID-19 and I was okay by not getting the coins back as change. Unfortunately this cashier was not answering my questions when she first mentioned that they can only give me back change in pennies. I was a little confused since I was to get more than $10 back and that I question her that I do not need my coins but would like to have my paper bills which unfortunately I feel she did not understand me. My main point is to either pay by card or if paying by cash, to bring exact amount or bad attitude will come your way. This facility need better training in CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
