If I can give no star, I will do it in a heartbeat. Yesterday, I returned some items. One of them is a diffuser. I used it once but decided to return it for health reasons. The cashier's name is Gabriela. She called another staff named Guadalupe. I understand it was almost 5PM; however, this Guadalupe was so unprofessional & sarcastic, telling me right at my face that the diffuser is used and cannot be returned, while pointing out at their return policy. I really do not mind not getting any refund but my concern is how this particular staff Guadalupe represent TJ Maxx as a whole- rude, unprofessional, NO class! If TJ Maxx cares for their customers, then staff like Guadalupe shld attend customer service trainings. read more

Filled to the brim with everything you could want for gifts for the holidays or any other time. This place never seems to let you down. Things are arranged throughout the store as neat as they possibly can be. Of course, once the day winds down, after shoppers have plowed through things, it can get a little bit in disarray. The store is 2 level with housewares, gifts downstairs and clothing upstairs. I like the separation while shopping. There is an escalator or an elevator if you need to take your cart upstairs. There is staff constantly replenishing the shelves, especially during this season. The lines can get long, but, it is run very efficiently with each cashier numbered and an automatic call out once the checker becomes free. It helps keep everyone in one line, until it's time to check out. Located in a a shopping plaza with other shops, See's, Barnes and Noble, Pet smart, Buy Buy Baby, Costco, Trader Joes and a bunch of restaurants, it's a great place to go for one stop shopping. The parking lot is huge with plenty of parking. Definitely my go to place to find something I am looking for or a unique item. read more

Clothing wise this is one of the saddest TJ Maxx's I've ever been to! It's conveniently located on top of HomeGoods, but the selection here is much more sadder! I don't shop at these chains often because it's hard to find the style I like and especially in my size, but from time to time I'll come here with my mother to kill time. I normally don't like coming because although I like the idea of a good treasure hunt, I just don't have time to sift through articles of clothing on end. Although the clothing assortment here is small and rather pathetic, I did however see that they revamped their beauty and personal care aisles and it actually looks organized and more professional now! Everything is organized according to category and it actually follows a decent schematic. Makes shopping so much easier! read more

This location is bigger than the one near whete I live. They have two floors there. It's clean & well organized. Household items food & furniture is located on the first level. Clothing, toys, lingerie, accessories, and beauty items are located onnthe second floor. The sales associates here are great. I wanted to walk off all the Vietnamese food that I had consumed at Mekong, but didn't want to walk it off at the mall. My sister suggested we go to TJ Maxx, Oh I'm glad she did! I love this place! I might have went a little over my budget, however, I wasn't the only one! You can't have a budget when going to one of these department stores. It had everything I needed at a reasonable price. I wanted everything in the store, but end up leaving with a new luggage and some note books, candles, and a new phone case that matched with my iPad. I now have a very cute luggage for my trip to LA next week. Its a very nice upgrade from the previous luggage I had. I wanted everything. I've never been to a TJ Maxx before, but now I just might have to go back! Not might, but will! Beauty supplies, athletic clothes/accessories, kitchenware, jewelry, and more! It's 2 levels of everything you want and need. I fell in love with the chairs here. So chic and comfortable. Customer service was nice, every employee I came across said "Hello" and asked if I needed any help. Very friendly staff. Customers were kinda nice too, I don't know how many times someone complimented the luggage I was pulling around the store. Zero stars for customer service. Absolutely ridiculous there had to of been an employee literally in each single aisle (doing inventory I assume) and not one could greet or say hello. They acted as if you as the customer were in their way. I was in the children's section and one worker had a cart in the middle of the small aisle and saw me trying to look at merchandise and didn't even move it. I ended up moving it and saying sorry, just want to get buy so I can look. She looked annoyed at me. So I went to a different aisle and there were 3 employees scanning tags and would not acknowledge me or move. I asked if I can look, the guy just looked at me and stood blocking the clothes and went back to scanning. It seems maybe none of them spoke English. I felt like I was not allowed to be there. Tina the self proclaimed manager here just literally threw my dog and me out of the door because I was having my Cavapoo with me and "our policy is no dog in the store because we sell food". My dog is a cute little 13-pound hypoallergenic dog. I understand the policy but didn't appreciate the way she handled it. She yelled at me across the room and followed me everywhere. I just needed to go upstairs to find my sister whom I came with. I already held my dog in my arms so he wouldn't "be able to harm" others. She insisted on me leaving the store. I have been a customer for years here since this is the closest TJ Maxx to my house but now I guess they just lost a customer. This situation should have been handled a little bit differently. I'm a manager myself and I have to deal with different types of customers everyday too. Tina should have been more subtle and allowed me to talk to my sister first. She represents TJ Maxx and TJ Maxx executive, if you're reading this, you hire the wrong manager to manage your store! Because now every time I think of going to TJ Maxx, I remember how rude Tina treated me and my dog and don't want to have any business with your company. Customers, be aware! read more

I used to come to this store a lot many years ago. It's a zoo inside. Super cluttered, but if you put in A LOT of time and effort (prob. 2+ hours) you might find few treasures for good deals. And be careful because sometimes they have different prices on the exact same items. Buyer beware. So I was here today because I was in the area, and decided to take a quick trip inside to see what they had. I got several small items, a couple of them glass. When I went to pay, the cashier rang everything up and then shoved everything towards me, like she expected me to take them loose. I asked for a bag, and she said they had none (a big store like this is run so inefficiently as to run out of bags for customers?!?!) or I could pay a dollar for one of those big re-usable bags. The entire first floor is a VERY well stocked Home Goods and the second floor is a TJ Maxx. I've never made it upstairs because the Home Goods is why I come. Out of all of the south bay Home Goods, this one and Gilroy are the most well stocked. This store always has everything I am looking for and more. I came in today to find a new duvet (found it for $35), a mandoline (got it for $13), kitchen cabinet storage (check!), and I even found a Magic Bullet to replace the one that just died on me($30)!!!! This store has so many things, I couldn't even look around without going over the short time I had. I plan to return to look at their wall art to complete my master bedroom redecorating project. This is the TJ Maxx home goods to rival all home goods locations! It's a double decker! First floor had some awesome foods that I've never before seen offered at other Home Goods locations, where you can usually find some variation of the same stuff. They had awesome brands of tea I've never even heard of or have seen mysteriously circle around the internet. Second floor is clothing. Also, the cashiers at this location were quite friendly and nice. People and service vary, but we may have gotten the nicest cashier of any location I've frequented. It's also located in a shopping center and around many retailers in the Almaden area so parking is easy and you can get froyo after! Extensive and unique selection! Why not go? read more

I seriously fell in love the 1st time when I stopped in, looking for a nice lamp. Now that we've moved into a better place and the fact that I have time to decorate as well, has got me falling even more in love with this store. This TJ Maxx location is great. It has a Homegoods section which makes it even better. In addition, there's always parking available! This location is very clean and organized. I have been to other stores similar to TJ Maxx and usually expect to see clothes on the floors, sizes mixed up, toys half opened, etc. However, this location always has their sizes in ordered, their displays nicely organized, and everything cleaned. Even the dressing rooms are nice, I think they actually remodeled the dressing rooms within the last year. Unlike Ross, they have a large variety of clothes to choose from in all sizes and even have offer name brand clothes, shoes, and purses. The Homegoods section on the first floor is also nice. Everything is organized and each section is clearly marked from beddings to kitchen supplies and plants to paintings. You can even buy some food (chips, cookies, etc) at this location. Generally, I feel that TJ Maxx has always been a female-oriented store. Yet, I felt obligated to grace the place with my masculinity :P On the real, this place has two floors which I find quite impressive. The one back home for me is significantly smaller. It had a lot of artsy crafts and plenty of departments typical of TJ Maxx. I've been getting into that state of mind so I found it interesting. Prices are a little high but there is a vast selection to choose from where it's glassware to art to candles, food, clothing, and everything in between. Cool store!!! read more

I normally have a good trip when I go here. I'm so upset to report my disappointment with this trip. Pictured are the exact same ornaments.... EXACT. SAME. Yet one is priced for $3.99 and the other, $9.99. Now, honestly, when your store does this, and it's the exact same item, why as the customer are we forced to pay completely different prices for the same thing? Just doesn't make sense. I'm also going to add that a little more than 15 minutes BEFORE closing the exit was locked and they had to open the door to let each customer out. 15 minutes before closing.... the entrance was locked as well!!! This is just flat out wrong. They had way too many people standing around the entrance, essentially doing nothing. Not to mention the girl with major disrespectful attitude who our original checker told us it was the manger, with complete arrogance she later stated she was not the manager but apparently was the one our 2 checkers were checking with regarding the price lastly, our original checker kept making so many mistakes I had asked her to please void the sale and start over. She was ab elderly lady, easily confused by what she scanned and didn't scan and the store's policies. She also stated that this younger arrogant girl (long brown hair, grey t shirt) with the F. you attitude was the manager, so she either lied to us or just doesn't know who her leadership team is. Either way, I am very upset over this trip. We were honestly having a lovely time Christmas shopping and finding a few new ornaments for our tree. The elderly unknowledgeable checker who tried to make silly idle chit chat while we waited ridiculously long and the arrogant "manager"/ not a manager with the 'tude really wrecked our nice night out. I give them 5 stars for their home goods selection. They have a huge variety of amazing home things-vases, bedding, kitchenware, pillows, etc.-at even more amazing prices. Everything looked to be in good, clean shape and I couldn't stop exclaiming, "I want this! I need it! It's so beautiful!" Needless to say, my boyfriend had to stop me from buying a three foot tall glass purple vase and a ceramic elephant statue. However, their women's clothing section is very oddly laid out and they don't have as great a selection or as MUCH of a selection of clothes as they do of home goods. So minus one star for that. This is my first stop when I feel like shopping but am not looking for anything in particular. The store is huge and has so many new things all of the time, which motivates me to make my pit stop before battling with the parking garages at Oakridge mall. Downstairs has really cool home items that range from dishes and towels, to area rugs, tables, and other unique "doo dads" for lack of a better word at the moment. Upstairs is really where it's at though. They have lots of clothes, bathing suits, and best of all- shoes! I always find great designer shoes there for great prices. And I sure do love my shoes! Service here is horrible and non-existent. Came here to do a return, did not have my receipt. Items were UNOPENED and tags all still attached - the manager scanned the item and said that they didn't show any sold in their inventory so I could not return it! I was willing to take store credit since they had no way to look it up. She just walked away from the registers and the cashier as well, I was left there going "so you can't do anything?" What the heck. Btw on their website it states that anything return without a receipt will receive store credit (I just checked). Don't come to this location unless you wanted to be treated as if you were returning stolen goods or something. read more

The worst shopping experience ever. My mother purchased an expensive Italian copper pot for me and she paid over $159 I thought that it was too much, especially since it did not come with a lid, so I asked her to take it back. It was never used actually still had the sticker on the bottom of it, we only had it a week, and had the receipt. They said it was used because there was some sort of "drop" that maybe looked like a water spot or something on the inside of it. As most of us would know if I had used it the sticker would have burned off or at least melted. I ended up calling 2 different upper management offices, while still in the store, and finally got someone to make the manager return it. I loved that store, shopped there for years and used my faithful TJX rewards card but will never shop there again just on principal. read more

I did have a bad experience when it came to buying cloth in this store however, when it comes to buying things to your home this place is great they offer a large variety of bowls basically anything you can think of the best part is that they offer great prices. This is the worst customer service I've received! We are remodeling our home and have been using nothing but Tj maxx but today I went to the Almaden location to return a couple of items by using a picture of my receipt I have to take a pic because I have kids and they somehow always get lost. Well, at this location they thought this was unacceptable bc it has to be a paper receipt, which is not stated on the policy. One of the managers was going to help me but apparently she was not home goods manager so she called another and that manager said no we don't accept anything without a paper receipt. When I asked why was it that the other manager was willing to do it she just replied bc she's a different department manager. How does this make sense for me the consumer! I've spent hundreds of dollars at this store. It makes it seems like this company is quick to take the consumers money but when I try to return a fraction they make they make any excuse not to take anything back. They really need to retrain the staff, specifically Sonia the home goods manager in better communicating and just service overall. Dont just cut off the customer and move on. Rude Management! I was visiting family in Morgan Hill and San Jose last week, where I made a sandal purchase at the Morgan Hill TJ Maxx. One of my sandals snapped after wearing it for about 2 days. (All I did was walk around in the yard.) I made my way to San Jose as my trip went on and finally had the time to try and get a refund for my sandals. I went to the Almaden Expressway Location. The manager was called upon to look at my situation. (Her name started with a "K", Katie or Kathy I believe.) She came over, looked at the receipt (without ever looking up at me) and in a snarky voice said that she wouldn't accept the return because I didn't buy from her store. I believe the exact words were "Well you bought it in Morgan Hill, so you can just go back there. I won't take it." Then she rudely walked away. Again, never actually looking at me. I told the associate standing there that I live 2 hours away, and was unable to go back to Morgan Hill before heading home. She said she couldn't help because it was up to her manager. (Which, I understand.) Anyways, the point is--the manager was extremely rude in her tone and mannerisms. Apparently, if you don't buy from the EXACT store, they won't take it back. Very disappointed with the customer service and return policy! Especially since the item broke at no fault of my own. read more

This TJ Maxx/ HomeGoods location is by far one of the cleaner stores that I've been in, which is CRAZY because I used to work at the one in San Carlos. Though, this location looks big from the outside, the store itself is actually quite small but you still get a pretty good selection of merchandise especially on the HomeGoods section which I can totally appreciate. I came in here a few days back looking for a wooden picture frame and left with a beautiful acacia wood frame, some stationary essentials and a few other items I had not seen in other HomeGoods locations. The TJ Maxx beauty section/ aisles were sooo beautifully color coordinated and so organized and I was there for it 100%! You don't usually see beauty section/ departments of any store so well kept, I was impressed. read more
