First time here and the guy doing my manicure cut me and didn't say anything. Also I asked for hard liquid gel and they originally told me they do that. After my pedi they sit me down and start doing acrylic and told me they don't do hard gel.. Not very kind and tried pressuring my mom into getting a mani pedi while she was waiting with me (she does not get her nails done ever) and tried to make me feel bad because it was the Friday before Mother's Day. I told them multiple times she doesn't get her nails done and they made me feel bad about it the ENTIRE time. Quality of their work is horrendous and I'm pissed I spent my money here but I genuinely had no choice. The work they do is good. However they hook on extra charges without telling you. And then when you get to checkout, you're paying $30 more than what you're expecting. $65 pedicure because she didn't tell me the polish she was using is $10 more. A different woman did my fill. That was $55. I asked why a fill is so much. She said the polish she used. She rushed to get done so she could get to the next person and now I have bumps because the polish she used was lumpy. I've been going to this salon for 3 years. The guy usually get was off so I had to take a different tech. I also don't like when you have one tech for Toes and another for nails. It cost more for a tip. I always give a 20% or more tip. I Did not do that today. I couldn't see giving a $24 tip on the service I got today. I've never had this problem before. The last time that I was there, I gave my tech her tip. I shorted it by $3 because my visit there was costing me much more. She looked at me like I had given her 50 cents. Plus, on my last two visits, she had slacked up on how she did my feet. I decided right then that would be my last visit there. Visited this morning just after 10 AM. Much better service! I got a fill in done, My husband and daughter each got pedicures. Lena was my nail Tech and I was impressed. No bleeding fingers, No overly thick acrylic. Only thing I didn't feel was right was the prices. A fill in is usually around the $15 mark So I assume $25 each pedicure $35 for acrylic fill in. (That's the price of a full set else where) I didn't even get no special treatment to make me feel like I was getting my money's worth. I was waiting for my tires to be rotated and walked across the street to this nail salon. I waited about 10 minutes before being put in a chair to soak my feet for a pedicure. About 15 minutes later, a guy came and started on my feet. Staff seemed friendly enough and the lady seated next to me said she loved the place and had been coming to this nail tech working on her feet, for 4-5 years. As I was waiting, I decided to look at reviews and they weren't so great. I asked my "neighbor " if she'd posted a review for this place, and she said no. I suggested she post one since most of the reviews I'd read weren't rating this place so great. The guy kept coughing, not covering his mouth, and it was pretty awkward. I felt bad he was sick but hated that he was coughing all over my feet. Luckily I didn't get sick. Nail polish didn't stay on my big toes very long. They didn't have any OPI polish, so I just chose a bronze-ish color to match what I was wearing. I don't live close so I won't be going back anyway. read more

Not only did the guy doing my pedicure shove the tool down into my cuticle and make my big toe bleed, he cut my cuticle on my little finger too. First of all, I did find TJ Nail to be one of the cleanest salons I've ever seen, and staff was very friendly. That being said, I stopped in after work to get a mani-pedi. Three women and one man were working and the only one available was the man. I like to enjoy my pedicure and relax but this experience was not one of relaxation at all. Yes, I've had men do the mani, pedi's before and never had an experience like this before. The man that did my nails was extremely rough. He nipped my skin when he was cutting down my toenails, shoved the cuticle remover back under the skin on a few toes, and the tool that is used to clean under the nails was like a weapon. That tool was used was pushed under the nail and into my skin causing pain. When it came time for the "massage" part of the treatment, he pounded extremely hard on my legs. At each painful event, I told him he was being too rough and he needed to lighten his touch. He shrugged and smiled but did not answer. I sat and watched the other people around me being handled carefully and one person even fell asleep while he was being worked on. What I wouldn't have given to trade places with any of those customers. When it came time to do the manicure, I told him that he had to be more gentle than he was the pedicure. Again the cuticle pusher was shoved under the skin and the sharp cleaning tool was poked very hard under the nails. When I was waiting for the polish to dry I noticed areas of thick polish and a few bubbles and there was nothing consistent about the work. This may have been that the polish was old or needed thinned a little, but he just used what came out of the bottle. After waiting for 25 minutes for the nails to dry, I asked if he had any drying oil or spray. He jumped up and came over and looked at the nails and said they were dry and I was good to go. When I put my hand inside my bag to get my keys, the polish was not dry and the result of that was five messed up nails. I showed him when I was paying and he just looked at them and shrugged and smiled. It was late and they were about to close, but he still could have offered for me to stop back the next day and have them fixed. I paid for the service, $60 for mani, pedi and eyebrow wax, which I would not have minded had the service been a good experience. This was not. Yes I even tipped. I will not return to this salon for service. It was just painful and I'm not paying for someone to inflict pain. Just a warning, be careful who does your service! read more

Ok I have only been to two places in my life to get a pedicure. This is my second time here and I will say they have done wonders to my feet. I admit I sometimes let my feet go and this place is just what I needed. As I said I do not have many experiences in knowing what's good in getting a pedicure but I know what I like. The deluxe pedicure includes a callus removal, a lemon scrub (amazing) and your choice of a mud mask or hot paraffin wax for $40. I think the basic pedicure is $23 and basic manicure is $15 I also get my eyebrows done every 6-8 weeks when I have time, it's $10 and quick. Walked in yesterday for the first time as a spur of the moment visit to treat myself and was greeted within seconds. As I looked through their services, another technician approached me and said to take my time as I was trying to decide on a mani. I decided on one and informed the technician who mumbled something and headed back to a nail station so I assumed I was to follow her so I did. She was ver attentive for a while until she answered her cell phone and Facetimed a man for a few minutes without even apologizing for the interruption. I let it go because she was nice to explain how I should not allow a technician to cut my cuticles. She used a lot of oil on my finger nails which apparently hadn't completely washed off. She applied a couple of thick coats of polish and top coat and escorted me to the nail drying station where I patiently sat for 20 minutes while she had moved on to another customer. I had to ask another technician if it's ok for me to leave. I paid a 25% tip as I was hoping to return in the future. I carefully drove home and noticed a smudge on one of my nails and within the next hour 8 of my nails had smudged terribly as if the polish were a wax coating as it was coming off all around my nails. They looked awful and I was extremely disappointed. I called and spoke with the same technician and was asked to go back. When I went back, the owner looked at my nails and called the technician over who was on her phone. She took me back this time and apologized while continued to remove my polish while on the phone laughing and apparently complaining to someone about me. The male technician walked by and made a comment to my technician and they both laughed (at me). The technician hung up her phone finally and blew her nose and picked her nose with it and set it down on the nail table in front of me and picked up the nail polish when I asked her to wash her hands. She grumbled something to someone and washed her hands. Then she called the owner over who said that it was the dark nail polish I chose, so I said I'm fine with a different color but she said it's fine and painted my nails like a 5 year old would have and got up and left. My technician returned to apply the top coat and smudged a nail and tried to just apply top coat so I asked her to fix the color first so she did. I finally walked out after 5 minutes of drying my nails and NOT ONE employee nor the owner said a word. Needless to say, I will never return. read more

Barley a 1 star. I had the worst experience ever! I'm loyal to getting my nails done. I try new places. Yesterday I left the salon across the street from tjs because they were too busy and my best friend and I wanted to finish around the same time. So we went to tjs walked in, the salon was neat, but as far as costumer service...HORRIBLE!!, there was literally 5 people in the salon at the time of arrival 3(pedis) and 2 (Mani's) so we decided to stay. I sat in one seat and my friend sat in another seat after on of the ladies went to the dryer. 5 minutes into her nails he stopped and said he had to go after answering the phone 7 times!!!, and said the owner would finish her nails in 10 minutes. After another lady went to the dryer "The Owner" took another costumer. My bff complained that she was supposed to be next and she ignored her saying it was busy , wait 10 min. Meanwhile, my nail man, Burned me with the drill 4 times. I asked how much for a fill in he said 15 ended up charging me 20, he did not compare hands to see if the shape was symmetrical , they did not ask for eyebrows (ever salon I have went to asks just cuz) he put like 5 layers of paint on my nails and it was extremely thick. Didn't let them dry with the fan in between coats. He painted over the nail that I wanted a different color and blamed me that I didn't tell him ( i told him 3 times!!!) But didn't take the nail polish off all the way I had to tell them. We were there for a whole hour already, my friend still didn't get in a chair until I was just going under the dryer, by this time the man that started my friends nails had returned. And stopped me mid dryer and said he needed to add a top coat to my nails. Back to my best friend. Just got in the chair with "the owner" she filled her nails in an started shaping them in 5 MINUTES! I HAVE NEVER SEEN SOMEONE DO IT SO FAST. my friend said that "I will go to another salon of your going to rush my nails" the owner said "you tell me what I need to do, help me" WTH THIS IS YOUR JOB WHY SHOULD SHE NEED TO HELP YOU. her only excuse was that it was busy. Literally 6 people in there when we left out. My best friend said the service was horrible and she was leaving and the owner said "how you leave when I finished your nails , I need $10" I told her not to give them anything her nails looked a MESS!!! The owner went off causing a seen in front of everyone smh, my best friend his walked out. Whole time, I'm still under the dryer, I let the dryer run 4 times and asked after if they were dry. He said yes. I said can you feel them and make sure. He said yes there dry. I went to go grab my card and the whole thumb smeared up. I was pissed. He said he could fix it by adding another top coat without me going under. I said this is ridiculous I pay for quality and I get bullshit. I ended up taking it off and adding my own nail color. Please do not waste your time and money in this place!!! Last but not least. THEY DID NOT MASSAGE MY HAND AFTER, DIDN'T CHECK IF IT WAS DRY!!,I COULD HAVE WALKED OUT AND THEY WOULD NOT HAVE NOTICED. It was packed, so I asked if I needed to come back later (that way I could get other things knocked out). "No! No! Sit!" They insisted after waxing my eyebrows. So I sat in a chair and they filled the tub with water. 10 minutes pass. 15, 20, 30 minutes and nothing other than the water getting cold. So I finally dried my prune-y feet and got ready to leave. They made someone readily available to take the money I owed for the eyebrows (which appalls me they still charged me after I was left there like that)! Not even a discount! Or a coupon off the next visit to apologize for the inconvenience! Horrible customer service. I know I'm only one person. But if I make a difference by either convincing you to not go there, or for this business to make some changes in their customer service and save future clients from wasting their time/money, then I did my job as a Yelp reviewer. read more
