Adobada is super tasty here. Lots of flavor, good Smokey charring, juicy. The bright green cream sauce balances with the marinated pork and the spicy tangy salsa. They have a small parking lot as well as indoor and outdoor seating. They have different lines for the different meats that you might want. Along with tacos they also have fries and burritos. I ordered the asada ($3.85) and adobada ($3.85) tacos. The asada meat was good and the guac made the taco way better. However, I preferred the adobada taco way more. The meat was tender and flavorful and the green sauce was addicting. My favorite has always been the adobada taco and it's the favorite of many others based on how much longer the lines are for adobada than the other meats. Salsas are an extra cost but you really don't need them because the tacos are already so flavorful. Staff cleanup right away as soon as patrons are done. 5 of 5 stars Food/Offering: They have almost everything that you would normally see at a taco shop EXCEPT they don't serve Chicken/Pollo here! So be mindful if you are chicken only patron. They have mostly beef and pork meats like carne asada, cabeza, lengua, buche but their most popular meat here, without a doubt, is their ADOBADA (marinated pork). There is always a line for adobada; at times the line gets too long that staff divert customers to the asada line and prep the adobada orders from the drive thru station. There is a station to get your limes, radish and salsas. 5 of 5 stars Overall: During the 3 years my kid has been going to grad school in nearby San Marcos, he has been on a culinary tear around the SoCal area and this was one of his recommendations. Gave this place a try yesterday with a coworker. I tried the adobada, carne asada and the chorizo with nopal. Honestly they were all so good. I wish the nopal was a little more cooked but everything was good. They have the different lines for different meats which makes it pretty easy to order. You pay after you get your food. So good that my husband and I had to grab several burritos to-go on our drive back go LA after dining in so that we can enjoy it again the next day back in the comfort of our own home. I really liked the tortillas they used, I'm pretty sure they're freshly made, and the ratio of meat was decent. We love the tacos from here. Being Mexican I think we can easily tell when the tacos are good as we grow up eating them. Well these are one of our favorite places to have tacos in San Diego. They are always busy, especially after 5 pm, but their service is always great. We went through the drive thru and the woman taking our order was super friendly. We ordered to split between 2 of us: 1 carne asada taco- Good portion of meat, lots of cilantro, onions, and guacamole. The meat is not overly cooked and nicely seasoned. We also always ask for the salsa on the side, since we drive 30 minutes each way, no one likes soggy tacos. 1 adobada taco - Good portion of meat, cilantro and onions. The avocado salsa was added on this one by mistake and the taco looked like a mess, it was still delicious though. Campechana fries - Served half carne asada and half adobada meat. They don't skimp on the meat, it's a hefty portion which we were surprised. Minus 1 star as the fries were not as crispy. Seemed like they were fried quite some time ago and were lacking some cheese. We thought they were served with guacamole since we did ask for that. Also you have to add a lot of salsa in order to get flavoring to the rest of the fries, otherwise they will just be dry. We had to pick up our menu items in different lines for each item we ordered. My wife got two soft beef tacos and I got one soft beef taco plus one casiadia which was $3.75. They all were very tiny on 3inch tortillas. There was no eating utensils. The soda drinks were only 8 ounces including the ice at $3.50 each. For a Mexican restaurant they did not serve rice and beans. They had no sides. After finishing our tiny servings we left and our bill was $28.25 and we left hungry. What a disappointment!! The husband said that the last time he went here, he had to park a couple blocks away and walk over. It can get that busy. Trust me, try to park on the other side because if you end up on the side where the drive thru line ends, you can get stuck there for a minute or two. On to the tacos and fries! I love adobada tacos with everything. The line for it was one of the longer ones but it was worth it. We also ordered adobada fries. Let's talk about the fries. They were really good. The fries were crispy and there was even distribution of meat and toppings. I really appreciated this version over TEG. I think it's because it has better fries. By the way, if you want to make it even better, just ask for some red sauce from the cashier. Now onto the tacos. I ate 6 of the adobada tacos with everything (hot sauce, green sauce, onion and cilantro). I had to stop myself because I would have eaten more even when I was already full. The tacos were packed with al the ingredients and you can easily separate the two tortillas and make more tacos that way. The dining room also can get busy, so just be aware that it can get crowded in there. It's a no nonsense dining room, got the seats and the tables and it's clean. There is some seating outside, so bring a jacket during winter months. Overall, this helps with my street taco cravings. I will definitely go back. It's just too good not to. read more
