TJ's catered a community event in our neighborhood this weekend, Apr 27, first time I've eaten their food even though I pass by their truck going in to the local Lowe's quite frequently. I should have stopped much earlier. Their dawgs are delicious. I had the Chicago's Combo, wife had the West Virginia Slaw Dawg, daughter had the Smoked Kielbasa. All were great. Will most likely be stopping but the truck again sometime. read more

Tried this place out on an invite to lunch by my ex-wife. Had what they call a Maxwell Street Polish. All I have to say is it tastes like home. The only thing is they need to serve fry's. read more

I went there for the first time yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. I've seen the truck in front of Lowe's a few times but just thought it was some Lowe's promo with your everyday boiled dogs on a plain bun. NOPE! My son had the chili cheese dog and I had the New York dog. Sauerkraut was smoky and the Vienna dog is substantial, perfect meal, very filling. My son said the chili cheese dog was delicious. You can truly tell the owner takes pride in his business when you arrive. Very friendly, super clean, and a great meal. Had the Chicago dog "dragged through the garden". Though not traditional as far as bun style or pickle option, it's damn good. Hot dog was perfectly cooked and I liked the option of adding the condiments myself. Extra sport peppers! My wife had the Polish kielbasa and shared a bite with me. Great flavor and probably one I'll have the next time we visit. My son had the chili dog and he loved it. First time he had ever tried one and it didn't disappoint. TJ does a great job with this food truck and I can see why he garnered so many 5 star reviews. First off, let me say that I am a Chicago Native. I have lived in Dallas for 30 years and am always hunting for food that reminds me of home. About nine months ago I was again searching for a place for an Itallian beef sandwich. it seems that some places pop up for a short period of time and then they close. When I saw the review for TJ's I was hoping for a decent sandwich. some of the other ones I have tried were not worth mentioning. From the intial review, I did not realize TJ's was a food truck. I swung by one evening, saw it was a food truck, but that it was closed. my hopes were dashed. How good could a food truck be? I put my appetite on hold for over a month. One day I was over at Lowes, and TJ's was open for business. I figured what the heck. How bad could it be? My hopes were raised when I saw that the Dogs were Vienna Beef. (most of the hot dog stands in Chicago only sell Vienna beef.) I approached the truck, there was a short line. I waited patiently while the other customers were served. The owner seemed very Chatty (Not what you expect in Chicago), He honestly wanted to make sure his customers had a good experience. I thought, maybe he is from Texas? When my time came to order, I was surprised with a Greeting of "How Ya Doin?" uh oh he sounded like a New Yorker. My hopes began to fall. How could a New Yorker possibly know anything about an itallian beef sandwich. (they originated in Chicago in the back of the Yards). I placed my order, thinking oh well I am here. I was surprised when he asked if I wanted giardinera on it. hmmm Things were looking up. I ordered one with giardinera and one with sweet peppers and onions for my wife. The next question was did I want it wet? (in Chicago you can order a sandwich Dipped) yes! When my order came up, I was again pleasantly surprised the beef looked just like home. it was sliced really thin. I was expecting Itallian Bread. Chicago usually has a roll that is a little wider than French bread, but not as big as Italian bread that you find in stores. It is usually Cut into a six inch length and then sliced open. The sandwich came on a roll. it is not as crispy as Italian bread, but it is probably 8 inches long and it was stuffed with beef. When I got Home, HEAVEN. The Sandwiches were Great! TJ made a believer out of me. I am usually there at least once a week. it took me a while to check out the rest of the menu. I noticed he had Italian Sausage sandwiches on the menu as well. I thought I would ask if he new what a combo was? it was not on the menu, but TJ new what it was an made me one. I have since tried most of the other Items on the menu. They have all been Great. so the moral of this story is don't judge a Sandwich by its Truck or an owner by his accent. read more

Best dang hot dogs ever!!! 100% beef. Vienna hot dogs with these amazing soft yet chewy buns and delicious toppings like chili, cheese, sauerkraut, fried egg. If you are craving a good hot dog make the trip over to TJ's and he'll feed you good!! Apparently he is now doing breakfast too so I will have to stop by and find out how good that is but apparently it's so good he changed his hours to concentrate on breakfast and lunch! I'm not sure if the guy's a good driver or not, but fortunately that has no effect on the greatness of the Italian Beef sandwich and enjoying it's awesomeness. The Dawg House is nestled between the Christmas Tree Shop, and Best Buy. You can expect them to be open almost all year round. I stumbled upon this place a few years ago with my friends. This place! Wow! I can't say that I have had a chicago dog before or an Italian roast beef. I can't say that I could choose between these two. I still can't. Chicago dog was everything it was supposed to be. Both buns were in great shape before and after being soaked with condiments. Those peppers were crunchy, spicy, and pickled perfectly! Great little place to check out. It's in a trailer out side of Lowe's, but they have some seating and tables so you can eat there if you'd like. The hot dog was one of the best I've had. The price was extremely good for the quality and quantity that I got. I'm not a huge fan of chili but theirs had a good flavor, and wasn't so blah. Tried TJ's for the first time on 1/2/21. Omg! How have I lived here this long and not tried this little piece of Chicago heaven. We went for the Polish sausage. My wife is from Chicago and was excited to have Maxwell St Polish. TJ waits on you himself and does the Polish sausage justice with the perfect grilling and that bun! I opted for kraut and grilled onions. Wife went for just mustard. Going back ASAP for a Chicago dog and another Polish. Wife said it was the best she has had since Maggie's Wagon in Chicago. read more

I Had lunch here. I chose the Beantown dog -- for me it was a toss up between the Beantown dog and the Chicago dog. But let me tell you the Beantown dog filled my need for a cheat meal. I would describe this menu item as a dog with pork n beans slathered over top with what seemed like cheese wiz-- I topped it with jalapenos -- TJ HAS fresh toppings to choose from like a couple types of peppers, onions and relish as well. TJ provided great customer service and the serving of the meal was fast and friendly.
