They have a fryer here so they do items like fried seafood (including sandwiches and items like fish and chips, etc.). Couldn't decide what I wanted for lunch the other day and this popped up on my radar. Came in on the later side after most lunch time for most people so it wasn't busy at all and plenty of parking. Was greeted by a friendly, helpful person when I came in. I decided on the Nena sub, which was one of the specials of that particular day. This is basically their version as the loaded up, Italian meats sub. The prices here are more than reasonable, especially when you consider the size of the sandwiches. The bread is fresh and soft. Very good the bread makes the difference very old looking place which is a plus the cashier said it's been here for 50 years! Both of us really enjoyed our sandwiches because the bread was toasted and warm. The meat was plentiful and the perfect meat ratio with the onions, mushrooms and other fresh veggies. The owner was super nice and helped us navigate through the menu and decide on a warm sandwich of our liking. So I was next door, fixing my Ram's football jersey at Lee's embroidery shop, when I found this place. I was first apprehensive when I saw this place, but was starving, and sometimes these little Mom & Pop stores are hidden gems. Well after eating here, this gem shined pretty bright. What a pleasant surprise. My hot roast beef sandwich was of average size, but very flavorful, the roll was was fresh, lightly crusty, but soft on the inside. The female staffer was really nice and friendly, offered me a free ice tea, while waiting. Bonus points for her and the offer. Kind of enjoyed this sandwich, better than Subway. We ordered the SUPER, which includes turkey, ham, roast beef, lettuce, pepperoncinis, lettuce, etc. and NY Sub, which has some sort of salami and other meats. Everyone just gobbled them right up! I have been coming to this restaurant for at least 12 years. In one simple conversation they have lost a customer. The day started when we ordered 2 sandwiches and asked for no mayo and mustard but oil and vinegar. We got the sandwiches and to our surprise there was only meat cheese and bacon. No toppings like onions. We were extremely disappointed so we called the store and the daughter said that that is what we said we wanted and we can take the sandwiches back. We said no and we were just disappointed since we have been going there for years and left it like that. This is the part that caused them to loose a loyal customer. The owner called back and told us it is not their fault because that is what we ordered. We calmly told her that is not what was ordered. It kept going back and forth with the owner raising her voice to us. This is sad that all they had to say was I am sorry there was a mixup. Don't tell the customer it's not their fault.
