To be honest I thought this was just going to be just another average burger place, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! I ordered the Big Bargain Special ($7.19) which comes with a cheeseburger and fries. Unfortunately no drink though, so it's not necessarily a BIG bargain...you're only saving a few cents. It does look like they give you less fries than other places, but it was actually just enough that I was at a good level of fullness, and not too stuffed. However, I feel like next time I would just get a burger and then split a large order of fries with someone. Neither the burgers nor fries were too greasy at all. I wouldn't say that the burgers are as good as the ones from In N Out, but the burger is simple yet has a lot of flavor to it. The fries were cooked perfectly. They were hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with just the right ratio. I do wish that they had a ketchup pump so that we wouldn't have to keep opening multiple ketchup packets though. Service was really nice and friendly, and we got our orders pretty quickly. I really appreciate that they actually wipe down the tables between each use, even the outdoor ones! Pretty good burgers so I'd come back here next time I'm in the area! read more

It's a simple no frills burger. Something you could get in your backyard. I'm not saying it's bad or even great. It just is what it is. I guess I was hoping that there would be something special or unique to it. Maybe it's the other items on the menu? Anyhow did that and now I can try other places. read more

I have been going here for years and the burger is still one of the best I have ever eaten. Their ranch is the best here as well. Only thing, it looks like they made their fries skinnier which I am definitely bummed about. Those thick fries were the best part about them. Hopefully they bring that back. read more

It's hard to beat this price for such a quality burger! Big Bargain Special comes with a cheeseburger + fries for $8.99 (price as of 7/9/23). Lettuce wrap is an option if you want a healthier alternative. I love that the ketchup, TK sauce, and fry seasoning are all self-serve. Very causal indoor and outdoor dining. The food came out so quickly. I hadn't even sat down at my table yet and the burgers and fries were already ready! I definitely recommend if you are dining on a budget and want something fast. read more

I just ordered a cheeseburger, tator tots , and a corn dog. I got home to eat it and it was just gross. The cheeseburger had too much salt on Patty, the maynosie was slop on heavy dripping all over , and just overpriced yucky tasting. The corn dog was oily as hell and burnt. I couldn't eat it and finally the tator tots tasted old and stale. Waste of money and gross food. The customer service was terrible too like the cashier didn't want to be there. Stay away from this dumpster fire read more

First time eating at TKB's. The food was good and it was served fast. The Diet Coke was flat. Prices are also good. It wasn't busy and the dinning room needed the tables wiped down and the floors needed to be swept. The bathroom needed to be cleaned as well. Not expecting much from a burger place but you should keep it clean. For the employees, if you have time to lean, you have time to clean. read more

No drive thru, which isn't ideal for a fast food spot. Although I'm not sure they consider themselves fast food, and if they do, they're not fast. Took 15+ minutes for a simple order to be prepared, as we put in our order over the phone and then drove there. Cost just under $15 for two mini bargain burgers and two seasoned fries as of March 2021. Both were great, but value just isn't there. We definitely weren't stuffed afterward. Be sure to ask for sides of their thousand island dressing, as it's a nice addition to both burger and fries at no extra cost. read more

Driven by this place my whole life and never tried it til today!! A very yummy lunch spot. I got the mini bargain combo. Upgraded my fries to onion rings. Also their corn dog. I absolutely love their bun. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. Honestly really enjoyed the corn dog. There are plenty of seating outside as well as inside. I go here at least once a week, everyone is usually always so nice. I couldn't find a feedback option that was private so I'm writing it here. It was pretty busy when I walked in today. I ordered as usual, and they had a new setup. They upgraded from their old form of payment to a new one on screen. I think it's great. I was done ordering and finished paying on my side of things. Then the lady walked away to start handing out other orders that were ready. I have no problem with that. There were other people in line so I stepped to the back to wait for my food. Again no issue with waiting or anything along those lines. I then saw what looked to be my order. I went up and I said I think this is mine I just didn't get a receipt. Didn't say it in a mean way or anything. The lady replied rudely "yea you walked away". I don't know why she had to be rude about it or have an attitude. I wasn't upset, I wasn't angry. I didn't mind waiting or anything. I realized it was busy and her not giving me my receipt before walking away wasn't an issue. I wish she would have been nicer about it. I honestly don't know why she had to have an attitude towards me for something so little. I love coming here and will continue to. Just wanted to shed some light on a not so great experience. I get everyone has days where they don't feel like working but I wish she would have had more respect. I would have sent this message privately to the business if I found the way. read more

This was my 2nd visit to TK Burgers. The first time I visit was 11-23-19 and my experience was worse that time. I went with some friends tried The Bargain Burger that comes w/ fries. It's a beef hamburger w/ lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, sauce and your choice of cheese (I choose pepper jack). I got my order to go - arrived to my destination - opened my burger and when I tell you my burger could've passed for the whole cow that had just been slaughtered because my burger on the left side was completely raw and the right side was medium rare. It was so pink - I lost my appetite. Decided to give this place another chance --- and why did I go and do that!? Same situation... different day. This time I visited on: 12/7/19 My friend wanted to treat me to lunch. I went along. Ordered the same special - The Bargain Burger w/ fries. Let's talk about the experience and ambiance of the place first... the feel is of a mom and pop old school type diner - that Feels like they've been having regulars come in for years. You walk to the cashier who takes your orders and right behind the cashier the kitchen is completely open. You see who the cooks are handling your food and how it's being prepared. When one cook in particular has completed your meal he puts all items in the bag and tosses it up on the counter - like he's tossing out the trash for trash day (kind of tall- bald guy). Not sure if this guy feels rushed or pressured to push food out quickly or is having a hard time or not like his job... who knows but I saw this same guy tossing food on the counter like he was playing bean bags and needing to get them in the hole to win last visit. This guy just doesn't look happy at all. Anyways, now to the order... My order: once I got to my destination - same as before... I opened up my burger (which this time I made SURE to specify I wanted it WELL DONE - so as to not have any situations like last time) it looked good - smelled good - bit into the burger and it's PINK (please see photos attached). I show my friends and they immediately take the words out my mouth "NOT AGAINNNN!?" I say, "YES AGAIN!" Recommendation - YAY OR NAY... it's a NAAAAAYYYY!!! It did not live up to my standards. It's too much sicknesses going around for a place to be serving it's customers raw burgers. I specifically stated I wanted my burger "WELL DONE" - told the cashier x2 and it still wasn't cooked all the way. Good flavor or not, there's other burger places around - because this one for SURE missed the mark 2x's for me! WARNING: Eat the burgers here at your own risk! read more

After a failed attempt to eat at The Lab my pilots for the day eye spy'd this spot. Who can say no to a burger? Not me. We were on our lunch break and the clock was ticking. Guess what? This lot sucks bananas ti. Luckily we found a spot. Super cool little spot with a menu consisting of burgers, chicken sandwiches and rib eye sandwiches. Fries are super crispy. The self serve soda machine had those little ice balls in it. My cheeseburger was pretty good. Super fresh ingredients piled high on a toasted bun. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It seems to cater to the business folk in the area all with their stop watches running for their breaks. Service was fast and friendly. Thumbs up. read more

I came in Friday noon (11/08) @12:49pm. I ordered 2 combos and a chicken patty on the side. To come to find out my chicken patty was cross contaminated (inside my cheeseburger) the cashier (blonde Hispanic women) thinks I wouldn't notice that she told the cooks to take it out. I believe the correct thing would have been for her to ask me hey is it okay that the chicken was inside the cheeseburger rather than trying to be discreet about it. I go back to complain that I only got 1 French fry when I ordered 2 combos. After she triple checked the bag herself she gets mad I caught their error. And tells me "you just realized that now" it's like if she did that intentionally... not coming back. Please QUADRUPLE check orders. read more

Since Wagyu Chuck and Mick's Karma Bar closed years ago I've been looking for a really good burger in OC. While I am very picky about my burgers for me a perfect burger is very simple. I don't need all the bells and whistles I just want one that has decent quality beef, seasoned well and cooked medium rare/medium. I haven't been too impressed with the craft burger offerings in the area like the Counter, the Stand, Slaters 50/50, Burger Lounge, etc.... for a variety of reasons. I love the flavors of In N Out but I feel their patties are so small that even getting 2-3 of them together it still doesn't feel like a real burger experience. I haven't really had TK in 10 years or more so a few weeks ago I decided to give them another try and was not disappointed. First off I just love their beef, you can tell the patties were not frozen and it had really nice flame grilled taste to them. Also thick enough to give it some substance. I usually get a double cheeseburger. Every bite tastes almost perfect with the smokiness from the meat, savoriness and creaminess from the melted American cheese, sweetness from the tomatoes and ketchup. This is still an amazing burger even with the rising popularity with smash burgers and craft burgers. read more

Update - I asked for my burger to be "extra well done" because I'm pregnant. Unfortunately, it was cooked medium at best. I called the restaurant to let them know and the person who picked up the phone said I can bring it in and they will fix it. It was a pick up order so I'm obviously not going to drive there and back again. What's interesting is that it was marked as "WD" (well done) and it def was not. read more

Stopped by here because I had an appointment near here. Wanted the mini cheeseburger with fries ... "we're out" ordered a side of sweet potato fries with a drink. My fries came out burnt... actually black on the edges and really greasy. Inedible. Service....How the cook can actually plate and serve burnt and greasy fries is beyond me. Worst $8 spent. I went next door to Del Taco to get some food. Place is cute, staff was nice but will not come back. read more

I believe the owner even came over and was incredibly apologetic and kind about everything. They ended up giving me a pancake, which was such a sweet gesture. The restaurant is also super cute inside, has a good amount of seating, a great menu, and really friendly service. I'll definitely be back! We asked for one more minute to look over the menu and we didn't see her again for another 10 min -- we were just silently sitting scrolling on our phone before we had even realized we still did not order (since she never came back to check on us) They had indoor and outdoor seating, both were nice and clean with lots of options for larger parties.

My fiancé and I have always loved TK burger so for our wedding we decided to book TK burger to cater for our 200 guest wedding in Carpinteria. We were very excited because the price wasn't bad and the service at first was great. The day of our wedding we had small issues with timing and long wait for our 200 guests due to issues with the frier and overall slower service than reported by the owner. I called the owner, Jim two weeks following the wedding to ask about some of the issues we encountered. Although it didn't go as smoothly as we hoped, our guests loved the food and idea of having a food truck for our wedding. I made the call to Jim to discuss our concern and hopefully get a "I'm so sorry, here is 10% off your next burger at our store" or some kind of customer service response. When I spoke to Jim on the phone he was completely rude, unreasonable, offensive and ill-mannered. He immediately started attacking me upon my concern, yelling at me over the phone prior to reaching out to his staff regarding the complaint. As a customer, I was appalled at the way he accused me for lying and being wrong in the situation. I even stated how shocked I was in the way he attacked me and how I wish I could of recorded the way he treated me on the phone (to which he laughed at). Our phone call was dropped (thank you God) and I received 5 missed calls, 3 voicemails and a text, all from an angry, prideful and rude person, who not once apologized for any difficulty the day of the wedding OR for the way he reacted to my complaints. Although I have loved TK burger and supported them for the past 7 years, I am disgusted in the way I was treated by the owner of this business and sadly will not be supporting in any way. read more

MEDIOCRE. I was finally able to try this place. I was having my tires fixed at an auto place by TK Burger when I decided to walk over and finally try their much talked about burgers. The place was not busy at all considering it was around dinnertime. The place looks like a beach shack that will be at home in Crystal Cove. The menu is above the counter but make sure to look around because there are signs all over for specials. I decided to order the cheeseburger special combo. I thought to myself, that it is pretty generic so I can compare with other burger joints. After a few minutes of waiting, my number finally got called. I went to pick up my food, I don't know if I was expecting too much because of the hype but I thought the food was pretty generic. Anyway I just convinced myself on my way back to my table that maybe they will make up for the looks with taste. Wrong! The burger was mediocre. There was really nothing special about it. I've tasted better and cost much less. The beef was fresh but so are other burger places. In-N-Out is a burger chain and they can pull fresh beef out of their refrigerators. The fries, they were limp. It was hot but surely not fried right. The Coke, well it's Coke, it tasted like Coke. It's self-serve free refills so if you are into soda, drink to your heart's content. I know there are other items on the menu but it is a burger joint so they should know how to do simple burgers and fries! I guess there is too much hype about this place. One is the "giving up TK Burger is like giving up sex" dude you need to get out more because this babe is definitely faking it! read more

The food is a 5... but the lady at the register today is a 0! This lady was RUDE AF! I tried to call in my order because I was in a hurry. I called and she said please hold, i was on hold 10 mins! I hung up and called again, and she said please hold, I tried to say I was already on hold for 10 but she didnt listen and just put me on hold. I keep calling and the phone would ring 20 times before she even answered. I get when your busy you have to put people on hold, but you also have to be nice and then pick up the phone you put on hold. I went in and I asked her if she is the one answering the phone and she had attitude with me and continued to be rude. TK YOU NEED TALK TO HER AND IF SHE CANT HANDLE THE LUNCH RUSH GET HER HELP! read more

There seemed to be a lot of good reviews about this place. So we decided to give it a try. But the experience turned out to be very disappointing. First of all, the service wasn't friendly and slow. And there were leftover food and junks littering over the empty seats and tables. Then finally when the food arrived, the buns were cold! I was surprised a burger place will even dish out cold buns! The patties were freshly grilled which was acceptable but slightly too greasy and too rare for me. The fries were way way overcooked and greasy. They were literally in orange color. Very very disappointing. Should have just stick with In-N-Out. At least you know the quality you're getting. read more

Tk's burgers are a small shack like burger joint with locations in Huntington beach and Newport beach. The food is great. I usually get the big bargain special which is 7 dollars with tax. It comes with small fries and a cheeseburger. The burger includes lettuce, cheese, onions , tomatoes and spread. And the fries are seasoned with their special mix of seasoned salts. The atmosphere is great. The walls are plastered with surf propaganda and stickers. The employees are very nice and they like talking to you. The burger is alright. But the fries always overcooked. And TK isn't cheap. The entire meal with burger, fries and drink could run you almost $8! I used to hang out with my buddies there all the time, but since they have a new girl there we don't go any more. Her attitude was terrible and didn't give the changes back to us. That's a big NO for restaurant business. We'll rather go to IN N Out. They're much cheaper and better any way. read more

Oh yes burger heaven for me! Whether you come for the specialty burger or the cheeseburger or whatever, it will be good. TK does things on the greasier side of burger and fry making than other places I've been to, but that's part of the flavor of this joint...literally! Keep in mind that you should have some cash handy when you come here because that is how it is done here. go ahead give it a try. read more

I also thought you get plenty of food for the price, so the value is certainly there. Overall I was really pleased with this spot and would love to try some of their other items, hopefully in person. Definitely give this place a shot if you're craving a cheesesteak, whether in-person or via delivery.

The sandwich itself is 15 bucks, I ordered a small fry which was $4.50, and a small drink which was $4. With a 15% tip my total came out to $28. Definitely a little shell-shocked by that. Now let's talk about the sandwich. It came to the table and at first glance it looked very small. When I picked it up there was a very generous portion of rib meat inside like a big chunk of rib meat. Huge pickles and a lot of sauce. It was a great sandwich. Do not get me wrong, what I ordered again? Maybe. They don't really have a meal deal that includes fries and a drink so it's sort of all a la carte. Now let's talk about the taste. The fries were perfectly cooked, and the sandwich itself was a solid 10. That being said, I would definitely feel more comfortable paying $12 for this sandwich, as I think 15 is a little exuberant. And you don't really get that many fries for $4.50. I can't imagine what the meal deal would have been, but I'm sure people would absolutely balk at that price. I would have given it a five-star review, but that is way too much for that sandwich. As delicious as it was, I just don't feel right spending that much for a sandwich. If it could be reworked, and the price dropped down I would be all in in a heartbeat. Bottom line? If you've been wanting to try it, I say go ahead. Just be warned that you could be unpleasantly surprised unless you know what the prices are you're getting into.
