A plumbing back-up on a Sunday night is the last thing you want to face. But that is just what happened to us last weekend. Why? In my quest for healthy eating I went on a rampage cleaning out all the old food in the fridge and freezer. I just might have shoved a couple very small bags of old frozen broccoli down the garbage disposal. Apparently not a good idea. The pipes got plugged and the garage sink was stopped up and everything was backing up into the bathtub in the house. BIG PROBLEM! I ran to the computer, Yelped for plumbers and called TL Plumbing. This was after 5:00 on a Sunday evening. I left a message, he called back within 10 minutes, listened to my problem and said he would be over in 30 minutes. 20 minutes later he arrived. He inspected the situation, started to snake...couldn't break the blockage. Snaked from another area...couldn't break the blockage. Kept snaking til he was sweating...couldn't break the blockage. Said he wasn't giving up and would return at 8:00 the next morning with a different tool. Didn't ask for any money before he left my house although I would have happily paid him. He showed up the next morning at 7:45 and got to work. Half hour later we were free! Tony charged me just a fraction of what another plumber would have. He was honest, friendly, neat and clean, polite, patient and he spoke to my doggie in Italian. He is an old-school honest local business man. What else do you want? If you need a plumber, call Tony. tony does good work. he is limited, being a one-man show, and can't take on huge jobs, but for your every-day plumbing needs he is the man. I had him install a water heater and he does it as if he is putting it in his house. the lines are straight, he is pleasant. my only hesitation is that i do'nt think his prices can possibly stay this low forever! he is inexpensive to put it mildly. he is the best value in plumbing in the area. i've called them all and i'm telling you tony is worth your hard-earned money. he will be honest with you and even tell you if he can't do it the right way to go to someone else. read more

Wow, all the positive reviews are totally true! He was here within one hour of my call. He was polite, well-groomed, and nice to my pets and child. Another plumber (Kid Rooter) had told me it would cost $500 to fix my toilet and advised replacing it. Tony fixed the same toilet for $40!! He adjusted it, replaced a few small parts, etc. Then he cleared the tub drain for $45. I was shocked by the miniscule size of the bill ($85) and gave him a nice tip. What a great experience. I liked how he told me what he was going to do, and how much it would cost in advance. I still can't believe he only charged me $85.... We've used Tony 4 times. He's always been available, and three of the times on weekends. Recently had an issue with our dishwasher. Although he doesn't fix appliances, he found the issue, pointed me to another service to fix and didn't charge. Now that's service! read more

Tony was amazing. He fixed both of our toilets, repaired a leak in a pipe, replaced all our shower heads, and fixed some things that we didn't even know were problems, all at a rate that was about 1/2 what we expected to pay. There is a reason Tony has received 41, 5 star ratings. In a nutshell, he is great! Prior to calling Tony, I spend over a hundred dollars with a competing company. They did the bare minimum required to get my drain partially cleared. Unfortunately, the drain clogged again within several weeks. This time I searched Yelp and found Tony. He spent two hours at my house snaking the drain and making sure it was clear. He also took the time to explain the nuances of our plumbing system so that we can avoid future problems. Highly recommended! Had trouble with our kitchen faucet. Called Tony late Friday night and left message. He returned call within 10 minutes and showed up early next morning as promised. Tony is an awesome plumber who always tells it to you straight. There are no hidden costs or extra charges on the weekend. I had to go through many bad plumbers until now. After being charged $258. by Mr. Rooter with no resolution to the black muck in my bathtub and shower pan, I called T.L. Plumbing at the suggestion of a co-worker. Tony fit me in between appointments that he had that day; arrivng on time he went right to work. He explained what he was going to do and let me know what he would charge. He was at my house for less than one hour, charged me a VERY reasonable rate and resolved the issue. He was efficient and cleaned up after himself. I would recomment T.L. I've never taken a review from the internet to find repair help before. I only use referrals from friends... except this time. My friends weren't very happy with their plumbers. I called Tony after I got home from work (after 5:00) and he came over in 30 minutes (at night). All I can say is, I'm giving Tony's name to all my friends when they need a plumber. He got the job done, cleaned up after he was finished and his charges were probably lower than most plumbers. And he is so polite. read more

So had the need for a plumber yesterday (blocked shower drain). I had previously tried chemically treating the drain and hand snaking the line with little success. So after turning to Yelp, I found Tony and TL Plumbing. I gave him a call and left a message. He returned the call in about 15 minutes and was over at my house, less than 30 minutes later. He professionally snaked my line, from the roof and lost part of his equipment; but he got the very stubborn blockage cleared in less than 60 minutes. He was very friendly, helpful, and informative. Our family clogged the kitchen drain on Friday night. So first thing on Saturday morning, I searched the internet for a plumber, and called the top few listings. Most of the numbers just rang and rang. But TL Plumbing actually allowed me to leave a voice mail, which owner Tony returned in just a few minutes. He finished another job and arrived at our home by 10 a.m. Tony was very careful in removing the cap from my 67 year-old cast iron clean out pipe, so as not to break it within the wall. And he had the line and drain snaked and clear within 30 minutes. Tony was very pleasant and personable all the while, and even gave us some plumbing tips for the future. Based on all the reviews here, I called up Tony. He called me back within 5 minutes, told me he'd be at my home in 30 minutes. He arrived in 15 minutes, fixed the issue in about 20 minutes to the best of his abilities (old pipes under the house). Gave suggestions of what to do if the issue returns, told us what NOT to do also which is just as important. Said I could always call him for anything plumbing related. Wonderful man, easy to talk to, friendly and conversational, and just as others mentioned completely knowledgeable in his field!! Found my plumber for life!! read more

Well Tony did say he was too busy to come by the first day so since I was not getting many call backs I asked if he could come by the next day and he said he could show up after his first job of the day at about 11:30 and he did show up early. Here's where it get's a bit unusual. He looked the job over and declined saying he's old and works alone and is too busy. I can respect some of that and he did show up and was very sorry but there's more. When I went back to Yelp and contacted someone Tony actually mentioned I told this contaractor what I just experienced with Tony and he said he has already heard this about Tony? This one was also too busy. I think contractors have the right to refuse work they are not interested in doing but this was a straight forward service call that was handled by another highly Yelp rated contractor the very next day. Bottom line I feel I lost a day and my tenants experienced one more day of discomfort due to Tony being selective or the actual reasons he stated. Either way the end result was not good for me the customer or more importantly my tenants. John read more

Tony, where have you been all my life? He came the same day I called. Lucky for us he was in our area and had some time. If we have plumbing problems in the future I would wait days and even weeks for him to be available. Such and nice, friendly, fair and knowledgeable guy. We had a mysterious pipe/drain in our garage that was letting water in but only when it rained. I imagined water some day coming up through the sinks, tubs and toilets because of that thing. Tony came to check it out and turns out there was once a shower in the corner of the garage, as a lot of the old houses here in Long Beach had when they were new, and this had been the drain for it. He figured it out, told my husband what to do about it (simple fix now that we know what it is) and charged us a very small fee for coming out and spending his time. Any other plumber would charge a huge, unreasonable amount of money just for driving to your home. Will never have to search for a plumber again. read more
