Just a couple of minutes needed to verify the thermostat was not working. TJ was ready, willing and able to install the thermostat required by the warranty company, but instead he installed, as requested, the much better Honeywell thermostat we had already purchased. TJ called on Tuesday to schedule our appointment for Thursday. The following day, while we were on vacation, I called to ask if there happened to be any Friday appointments available. I specifically told him I was not canceling and was simply checking to see if anything else had opened up. His response was, "No, my next appointment isn't until late next week. Are you going to cancel?" I again said no, I would make Thursday work. He abruptly replied, "Great, bye," and hung up. Our appointment window was between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Since we were staying about 45 minutes away with our two young children, I left a voicemail asking if he typically gave a courtesy call about 30 minutes before arriving, as many service companies do when they provide such a large arrival window. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I was simply trying to avoid sitting in a hot house for four hours with my kids. Instead, I received a seven-minute voicemail telling me he absolutely would not make that exception because he was too busy, that I had already taken up enough of his time by calling twice, and that he had many other customers to get to. He again suggested canceling and rescheduling. When I called him back to clarify that I wasn't trying to cancel and was only asking about a courtesy call, he became even more confrontational. He told me I hadn't listened to his voicemail, said he might call 15 minutes before arriving, but if I didn't answer immediately, he would still show up and leave if no one answered the door, canceling my appointment. At that point, I contacted American Home Warranty because I was genuinely concerned that after being threatened with cancellation multiple times, he might not even show up. I simply wanted my concerns documented. Shortly afterward, TJ called me and asked, "What's your problem? Why are you calling American Home Warranty?" I explained that he had been very difficult to work with and that I was concerned about whether my appointment would actually happen. His response was, "Your appointment's canceled," and he hung up on me. My husband called afterward to try to resolve the situation, and TJ insisted everything was my fault because I had complained before the service was even performed. I've never experienced customer service like this. I pay monthly for a home warranty plan, pay the service call fee on top of that, and this is the contractor that was assigned to us. We never even received service because the appointment was canceled after I raised legitimate concerns about his communication and professionalism. I cannot speak to the quality of his HVAC work because he never gave us the opportunity. However, based solely on the way we were treated, I would never recommend this company.

All this to waste my time! I received confirmation in my appointment between the hours of 1 and 5. The technician messaged me at 11 a.m. and told me he was on his way. I informed him I was at work and I would not be able to be home until 1 o'clock, which was our scheduled time. He then yelled at me, said he was not coming back, after numerous phone calls I was put in on a three-way with a man named Zach who told him he needed to come out and service my address. Eventually, he agreed he would come back and service my address within the agreed time. After he came in, he was here for two hours working on my unit, all to tell the warranty company that they did not want to work with me. The company never submitted a report. They transferred the case and said that they simply chose not to work with me because I was upset that they wanted to showed up early. When I called the office, the receptionist, Jasmine, was very rude and sarcastic. Simply stated that if the time is between 1 and 5, that I should still be there earlier in case the technician's time changes. I said, that's absurd. How are you going to ask me to be there earlier when the agreed time is between 1 and 5? Then she proceeded, well, if you want a service, then you'll be there. If not, then you can wait for another day. This is very unprofessional, very unethical, not a way to run business. Do not let them waste your time. They will not honor your service time and will waste your time. I'm now weeks after they initially came out, having to start the process over when I have a child and an elderly person living at home, and I have no AC in the middle of summer.

Yesterday, one of the Mini Split head units failed in one of our Airbnb units during a heat wave, leaving our guest in a genuinely difficult situation. The company understood the urgency immediately and responded incredibly quickly. Their fast service helped us take care of our guest and avoid an already stressful situation becoming much worse. Managing a short-term rental means that HVAC problems can't always wait, but they got me an appt that day. We're grateful for their responsiveness, professionalism, and willingness to help during a crisis. I would confidently recommend them to other hosts.

I needed a new furnace and even though the A/C was still working I decided to replace both units with an upgrade. In doing so the duct work had to be upgraded with larger ducts. My furnace is in the attic and the installation was difficult. This is an older house so the attic space is very small and the rafters had to be cut to accommodate the furnace and then repaired when the installation was done. First day of installation in walks Chuy and Joel. Chuy took the lead and he would answer any questions I had and gave me progress reports as the units were being installed. Work began on August 10, but deadlines were missed, an entire room was left disconnected, and a technician returned without the materials needed to fix the issue. This resulted in multiple days of delays. The situation worsened when I missed two family plans -- including dinner reservations -- waiting for technicians who never arrived. A technician quitting mid‑project is not the customer's fault, yet our job was pushed to the end of the schedule instead of being prioritized, even though we had already paid the invoice. As of August 24, two weeks after the start date, the job was still unfinished and being worked on late into the evening while we had guests in the home. To make matters worse, Carini has not responded to the correspondence I sent over a week ago, despite the seriousness of the issues and the impact on our household. This was unprofessional, poorly coordinated, and far below the level of service we expected from a company we've trusted for years.
