My car got broken into late at night when someone busted the passenger's side window. Since all shops are closed that late, I decided to take care of it in the morning. Amazing service. Couple of days ago someone vandalized our car and broke two windows and broke window sealing. I was frustrated and emailed few places to know how much it would cost to change glasses and it was very expensive everyone was saying over $500 but when I emailed this place they responded very fast and also said everything is $450. On Friday night, my wife and I had dinner in downtown Oakland in the Uptown area, and upon returning to our car, we see our passenger side windows, smashed in. After spending two hours calling every single auto glass place in the area it was towards the end of the day and it looks like it was not going to happen for me so I called one last place and at first he said he wouldn't be able to do in the morning so I said thanks and hung up the phone defeated. Came back to my car after dinner to find the rear quarter window had been smashed in and the rear cargo cover lifted up. Nothing was back to there to take! Apparently it's a common break-in on hatchbacks like my Prius. I found TNT AutoGlass and sent a message to get a quote at about 9:30 on a Friday night. So last Saturday, July 9, I was minding my own business driving down I-80 on my way back to San Francisco, when *BANG* -- a half-dollar sized rock flew off a gravel truck three lanes over from me and crashed into my Jeep's windshield, smashing it like a bullet. Instantly my windshield started spidering. I pulled over, let the shock pass, and I started calling local (Vacaville/Fairfiled) glass shops, but it was late in the day, and NOBODY wanted to help. So I carefully made my way back home to SF, pissed at the prospect that I would have to deal with this shattered windshield problem into the work week, while nervously watching how the spidering and cracking was spreading across my windshield, literally by the mile. When I got home, I looked up an auto glass place I'd dealt with years earlier down in San Mateo -- not open on Saturdays -- but left them a good description of my dilemma, asking them to reach out to me first thing Monday. Here we are, late evening on Tuesday, and I guess they don't need my business, since they haven't bothered contacting one of their past customers. No matter, for TUNG, the owner of TNT solved my problem on SUNDAY afternoon. Taking a chance, I got on Yelp Sunday morning to see who would be open to help me avoid the work week dilemma, and Tung came to the rescue. As other reviewers have noted, this man is a gentleman, came as soon as he could (he had a few other customers across the Bay Area on Sunday, including down in San Jose...a lot of driving) and priced me fairly. When he arrived, he courteously and efficiently went to work, and within an hour and a half, I had a BETTER windshield than I had before from the San Mateo guys, and on top of it all, for less than I paid in San Mateo 6 years ago. Moreover, Tong gave me explicit do's and don'ts on how to handle my Jeep for the next two days to ensure the windshield sealing would bond perfectly -- something the San Mateo guys NEVER did (and consequently, I had a little air leak that from time to time would annoy me with the old windshield). Long story, short -- if I *EVER* have another auto glass problem arise as long as I'm still living in the Bay Area, Tong will get me business, hands down and without question. Tung is what I believe the owner of TNT auto glass, now I approached him on the quote services A while back and since that service is seemingly new, he had missed the date of my appointment we arranged. I took time off work in order to get my glass changed and so was frustrated when I heard that he did not remember the appointment. But realize we all make mistakes and was not too upset and he also gave a really competitive quote price. He was so apologetic that he missed his appointment he tried to connect with some of his friends in San Mateo where I work in order to get it done before I left work that same day . When that fell through just due to his friends own agenda he again apologized and offered to come out to my house on the weekend.
