Toast La Tea recently updated their menus to include a variety of food options to pair along with their drinks. The place is quite small, with a few tables and some bar seating. Service was sweet and the owner came and checked on me if the food/drink were to my liking and asked if I wanted to try their Vietnamese coffees too since I ordered a matcha drink. I haven't tried the drinks here in a long time and I thought it was decent. With the addition of new Vietnamese cafes and bubble tea shops around the area, there are many other places I would rather go for ordering a drink but Toast La Tea's food menu is a game changer. The Bò Né, the classic Vietnamese breakfast of steak and eggs, came out sizzling hot and the baguette was toasted nicely. The pieces of filet mignon were juicy and tender but there was still quite a bit of connective tissue on the meat which caused it to have more of a chew than I would have liked for this cut of beef. The flavor was impeccable when paired with the fresh baguette but could be a bit on the salty side if you end up out of bread. read more

Came to specifically try out their new hủ tiếu offering on the menu! The broth was super flavorful from the fried bits of pork fat and garlic. The portion of noodles was VERY generous. It also came with two quail eggs, which was a pleasant surprise. Cost was $14.99, and you can also order it without the soup for a dry noodle dish. Service was friendly and chatty! We all got to Toast La Tea about 15 minutes before closing time, BUT that did not stop the one server from taking our order for 5 different boba drinks and one special house toast dessert. The drinks all came out pretty quickly and were all solid, and then there was the toast... Honestly, I figured a place called Toast La Tea would have more than one "Toast" option, but there was only one, the house special. We waited a while for the Toast to be prepared, we could smell the warm toast small and hear the whipped cream, and then, out it came. It was HUGE, like a giant square block of toast with the center hollowed out, cut into cubes and then toasted on their own. These smaller toasted cubes were piled back inside the original mamma toast and layered with vanilla ice cream and sliced strawberries, kiwi and blueberries. Then ALL of it was doused in whipped cream. There were five of us and this one dessert was more than the five of us could eat, it was that big! It was also warm and cold and fruit filled and delicious! read more

Toast La Tea is my favorite boba spot in Portland. They hand make their boba fresh everyday, and you can really tell the difference. On top of that, their staff is super kind, especially with indecisive boba lovers like me and they are always willing to help make sure you love the drink you get. My go to drink is oolong milk tea with sea foam and boba, with half the sweetness. The drink ends up being creamy and the prefect amount of sweetness. The Taiwanese brown sugar with boba is a great no caffeine option, but close enough to a milk tea since it's creamy and sweet. I usually disregard Yelpers complaints about the smell in a restaurant, but after tonight I have more empathy. We walked into this shop and it was blistering hot, apparently the AC wasn't working. What was worse is there was a guy cleaning the floors as people were eating and drinking. Top that as he was using an EXTREMELY strong bleach mixture so pungent that other people walked in, then walked out. To top off this wonderful experience the orders took a very long time. After going here a couple of times, I am very happy with our find here. I had been dying to try the Brown Sugar Matcha tea thanks to Uber Eats and I have to say the tea lives up to the hype. My husband got the Strawberry Hibiscus Tea the second time we went and that was Oh my goodness so refreshing and lovely. Perfect for a warm summer day. I'm pretty sure the restaurant is run by a husband and wife team and they're so sweet and very nice, the second time the husband let me know I needed to shake my tea to incorporate the brown sugar(yes I know I'm clueless) and it was even better than before. Makes me think this place is really under stocked. Additionally, my coffee was made way too thick and the popcorn chicken, for how expensive it was, tasted like mystery meat. Wouldn't have been too upset if I had found out many of this within a few minutes, but I was waiting for what seemed like 20 minutes. Who does not love Boba tea! This is one of our favorite newly discovered Boba tea cafes in the Portland area. Located near SE 82nd and Division you will find this little cafe. We have visited several times and generally always order the Milk tea. The parking lot is tiny so you may end up parking in the street. The ambiance has a very Asian/ hipster feel to it. There is Asian music playing in the background and the customers are mainly younger with a mixed of the PDX crowd. The menu here is clear and concise. Our favorites are the rose, Taro and original milk teas. The flavor is smooth and not too strong with the right amount of ice. They are on the more expensive side for Boba tea, but you get what you pay for. The baristas are very nice and knowledgeable with the different flavors on the menu. There is also a very cool fish tank in the back with an Arowana and big Plecostomus. Try the taro Boba tea with mix jelly you will not be disappointed. read more

I've had way better bubble teas at various places. 2 drinks were ordered during my visit, Original Milk Tea with bubbles and Passion Fruit Tea with mixed jelly. The original milk tea did not have any flavor at all. It was extremely watered down. The passion fruit tea was disgusting (I've had my fair share of passion fruit drinks). It tasted very artificial and the color of the tea was red. No passion fruit drink should be red. I would definitely not order that again. Also, I was on their website and I noticed they have written a disclaimer. I recommend reading their disclaimer as they want the customer to "know exactly what you order" as the drink can "alternate the original taste." I tend to take it and go while I run my errands which is great because the service is quick. I generally order the original milk tea or sea salt jasmine green tea which are both yummy. The tea flavor is present and the sweetness is on point! The pearls are also slightly sweetened as well. I ordered their special honey toast petite for about $16.50 and all I have to say is for the price and what they put on the honey toast made me feel cheated. It definitely isn't worth the the hype for my pregnant self. The total fruits on our plate was probably two small strawberries (sliced in very thin slice and my strawberries looked beat on the outside), three grapes, a quarter of a banana, one macaroon, some slice of kiwi, some chocolate fudge, two scoops of ice cream and buttered honey toast. Their picture showed one thing, but ours showed something completely different. Now I understand the note on their picture said the real results may vary and some fruits may change But, this is cheating customers because it's misleading. I didn't think it was going to look that different. There's always room to grow and I hope you guys use this to improve. I won't come back to try again because of the price. If I'm paying that much it better give me an orgasm in my mouth. The Thai tea was more milky than tea. I didn't even bother to drink it.
