We ate breakfast at the Toast Cafe yesterday morning (12/31) and then again today. Yesterday my boyfriend had creamed chipped beef and toast with home fries and coffee. I had a short order of Texas french toast and coffee. The coffee was excellent and our food was piping hot. Our server, Jennifer, was friendly! Today, we went back for breakfast. Jennifer was our server again today. She was very friendly and checked several times to see if we needed coffee refills or anything else. My boyfriend got the 2 egg platter: he had two eggs over easy, two sausage links, home fries, and toast. I had the Build Your Own Omelette with peppers, onions, pepper jack cheese, home fries, rye toast, and a side of bacon. Once again, our food arrived quickly and was fresh from the kitchen and was delicious! The table across from us ordered pizza and that looked good too! Stopped in last week with my wife and a friend for breakfast/lunch. I ordered the creamed chip beef, my wife ordered a pizza, and our friend ordered the Florentine omelette. We all loved our food, and our server was great. I tried a slice of the pizza my wife had ordered, and I had to agree with her. It was one of the best pizzas we had in OCMD. When we were leaving we found out why. The owner is from NY. Nice guy too. The S.O.S. was also the best I have had in OCMD. They use a little bit of heavy whipping cream to give it a slightly sweet flavor. They were playing great music too. There is only one very minor thing I would suggest to the owner. The flashing lights around the ceiling are very annoying. They flash different colors very quickly like a strobe light. It is very distracting. Tone those down and I think the dining experience would improve. Other than that, we will definitely be going back to Toast Cafe next time we are in town. read more

My husband is very picky about pizza and he loved the pizza from Toast! The crust was perfectly done and the service was outstanding. We stopped in for a takeout pizza about 30 minutes before closing and the woman who helped us was so sweet. We will definitely be back the next time we are in OC. read more

We went there for first time today. The food was good and the people were great. Heads up about the parking (no fault of Toast). Hole in the wall type of place. We went here for breakfast. It was during covid so they were implementing social distancing. We were offered outdoor seating at the back patio. There was only one umbrella for all the tables there. It only covered 2 people in our group out of 8. We waited for about an hour and a half for food. The drinking water itself had a metallic taste to it, very iron-like and our group did not drink it at all. They were super understaffed. Food was mediocre. Would not be my first choice. read more

Hard review! The food is good, the service is horrible. Ive had experiences with this restaurant. First one, I was the only person in the restaurant and it took 30 minutes to get a turkey club. Second was for delivery. Was told it would be 30-40 minutes, ended up being an hour. Third was delivery and it was fine. Fourth, was for breakfast and told there was no later than a 12 minute wait. Took close to 30. Waited 50 minutes for food once seated. Very frustrating and even though the food is good, it's not worth waiting so long. Been here for breakfast under the prior management and loved it, so I was really excited to see it open for dinner with an Italian menu. I'm Italian-American originally from New York--not easily impressed by Italian restaurants. Usually, I'd rather cook my pasta at home. NOT ANY MORE! When we're in Ocean City, we now have a great go-to place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. But let me warn you, this is not a fancy, fine-dining restaurant. The ambience is casual, although a step up from the usual O.C. pizza parlor, but the food is top notch. That's wonderful since the prices are so very reasonable for great, freshly-prepared food. Tonight for dinner I ordered the linguine with white clam sauce--a dish I'm extremely fussy about. Hands down the best I've had. The white clam sauce is a bit creamy, not oily like so many places. There were whole clams in shell along with a very generous portion of clam meat in the sauce. My husband's chicken parmigiana was a generous portion and wonderfully prepared--juicy and tender with a fresh tomato sauce (yes I did try it). Their house-made balsamic salad dressing is wonderful, although they could work on the presentation of the side salad, but it was fresh, crisp & chilled. The warm herbed bread was a wonderful surprise. The people at the table across from us ordered a pizza. When I saw it served to them, I almost canceled my pasta, because I really, REALLY, wanted to have that pizza. It's the pizza I've been searching for since I moved from New York. I haven't seen a pizza look like that in years and years. And to listen to the 3 people sharing it, it tasted even better than it looked. They spent 15 minutes talking to each other about how delicious and fresh the pizza was. I understand why they advertise that Toast is the Home of Dinelli's New York Style Pizza. Everything was so good and filling that we were too full for dessert, but hubby couldn't pass up the home-made banana cream pie so he took it with him for later. I was tempted to order the home-made Tiramisu, but knew I'd still be full for hours. The food here is very miss or so so. The pizza was ok. There was a lot of oil because it was the meat lovers pizza and it was not crispy throughout the pie. We had ordered the Calamari appetizer and it did not taste fresh and was sent back. The restaurant inside was not clean. The wait here is truly atrocious and the service is poor. There was one other table being served that came in 10 minutes before I came in. Both my table and the table that came in before have not been served drinks or asked what we would like to drink. We came in and we're waiting 10 minutes for even one of the workers to ask what we were here for only for that same worker to say he would get to us 5 mins later then proceed to sit people who came in later then we did. New Dog Friendly Deck, We stopped at Starbucks and noticed this breakfast & pizza place next door. A friendly employee noticed that I was leaving my dog Cubby outside while I was about to order food to go. He pointed out their brand new dog friendly outdoor deck. We sat down outside for breakfast. This new place is the best kept secret in Ocean City, MD. No crowds, not waiting for a table. The food is fantastic, the prices are great and the service is perfection! Everyone is friendly and attentive. I'm 100% Sicilian and I love to cook. I know good Italian food when I taste it and Toast Cafe is the real deal. They also have a great breakfast menu. Find this restaurant and enjoy it, before the crowds find it and they will. Food this good can't stay a secret forever. First, we waited over an hour for our food (we got delivery). The when it arrived it didn't come with plastic silverware. I was staying in a hotel so I didn't have any silverware to eat the food with. When I was finally able to eat my food the shrimp scampi was over powered with lemon. Additionally, it only came with 6 shrimp. Some of the shrimp had good flavor while others were totally flavorless. My husband got a clam pasta that mostly tasted of butter and was generally lacking in flavor. Overall, I would say it wasn't worth the money I paid. Tried TC for lunch today. We've been coming to OC from NY for over 30 years & this is by far the closest taste to NY pizza. The crust, sauce & seasonings were delicious. My wife and I stopped by the Toast Cafe after checking in at the Francis Scott Key resort next door. The staff, Michael and Becca, were so friendly that we returned later with a friend to celebrate his birthday. The New York style pizza was authentic and delicious. The garden salads were also tasty and generous. Becca treated us like family and quickly met every request. Michael and Becca surprised us with birthday ice cream, candle, and singing. Gave it a try about 6 months ago and the pizza was pretty good. Went back with friends (all locals) this weekend and what a disaster! Party of 7. Sandwich comes out for one of our guests. About 20 minutes later two pizza's come out. The final pizza arrived about 20 minutes after that. At 4 pm it wasn't exactly busy. Quality of the food seemed to decline along with super slow service. Tried this place out this morning. Let me just start with my server was very nice, however, the food was very subpar. Unseasoned scalloped potatoes as "home fries," the Homemade Cream Chipped Beef has chunks of flour in it from not being whisked. Told our server and she said she would get the manager. 5 minutes later, the server came back saying the manager couldn't come out however there's no flour in homemade cream chipped beef. Hm. How? We were offered a gift card, however why would I want to come back? On the way out I found the manager and asked how you make a homemade cream chopped beef with no flour. He stuttered and asked the cook, who said there actually is flour in it but that it "melts." Flour melts. Interesting. Paid full price for a meal I took two bites out of. My husband & I have been to Toast several times & have always enjoyed the pizza that we have ordered. My main complaint about this restaurant is that the prices on the menu are incorrect. There is a disclaimer on the back of the menu - in small print that states prices are subject to change without notice - but when you have several items where the prices have changed - really it's time to get a new menu. I know that the prices have probably increased due to the pandemic but this pandemic has been hard on everyone. On our latest trip to Toast - we decided to order the chicken wings. On the menu the wings are listed as 10 wings for $9.99 - in reality we charged $11.49 & only received 8. The wings were good but not for that price. This has also happened when ordering the mozzarella sticks - you are charged more then the price on the menu. I realize at this point in time everyone is just hoping to get back to a normal life - but when it is time for my husband & I too consider a place to eat - we hesitate at going back to Toast due to we never know what our bill will add up to. This is the only restaurant that I have noticed where the prices do not match the menu. If they don't want to have new menus ordered then they should take the time to have someone change the prices. Nothing feels worst than to feel like you have been taken advantage of. Toast should also think about hiring additional help - the night we were there the restaurant was pretty busy & the service was extremely slow. read more

My parents and I stopped in for a quick dinner. Known for their breakfasts, the former TC diner is under new ownership this summer. We met one of the owners, Mike, who was very personable. I had a BLT that was delicious. Loved the shoestring fries. Apparently they now serve alcohol, too. I will go back for breakfast and a mimosa! Alcohol isn't able to be served between the hours of 2am to 9am in Worcester County so it will be after 9am! read more
