They have outdoor sitting area as well, which also seemed very beautiful. The first impression was great. The service was good. The food tho was a bit of a disappointment. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our server, Urbano. He was so friendly and relaxed. Loved his energy. We sat in a separate banquet room and loved the ambiance and floor to ceiling windows. My white mocha only got better with each sip (chocolate settled at the bottom), and my cheeseburger made with Angus beef was so juicy and satisfying. I should've cut it in half to save room for the sweets. The salsa that came with my cousin's Quiche Lorraine and strawberry spinach salad was so delicious that I ordered a side of it for my fries. Urbano kindly shared the recipe when I asked. Although it was a red salsa, it also had tomatillos, which gave it the salsa verde flavor too. Wish they bottled that. My sister was ok with her Crab Cakes but wished she had ordered the Crab Benedict instead. I also had a couple bites of Nutella waffle that we ordered to share. Food was really good, I loved the clam chowder and the bacon cheeseburger salad. My friends had the fried chicken and said it was good also. Drinks were just okay the Irish coffee tasted watered down. Service was friendly but the bill took a while and we had to ask for it. The restaurant is on a golf course which is a nice setting but the decor and furniture feel pretty dated. I did like how you could see the ocean from the patio seating. Such a nice lively atmosphere with great views! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that they had a separate vegan menu. We ordered 2 different vegan brunch entrees. One was great and the other was not good. We really liked the Vegan Rancheros. It was plentiful and flavorful with lots of different roasted vegetables and a great sauce. Then there was the vegan California Burrito which they forgot to add the fries to. It was also pretty small especially since they charge $22. They brought us a side of fries to make up for it, but by then my husband was almost done with the burrito. Our server was nice to take $5 off the bill though. Also they should add the tomatoes, cilantro and salsa inside the burrito. It's a pain to have to do that yourself. But overall a very nice experience! read more

Sadly, they have closed for good. This family run eatery is gone forever. The staff so many of whom have been there for many many years are lovely, especially friendly very professional from this day forward are scrambling for a new beginning. We couldn't taste the spicy as the description indicates and otherwise also didn't have a ton of flavor to it. But, it also wasn't the white goo breakfast stops sometimes serve - so points there! It was also a tad too thick (like it was made the day prior and sitting in a warming pot all morning). The biscuit was kind of chewy - not firm enough to support gravy over the top - the gravy just made the biscuit kind of mushy. Got the Strawberry, Banana & Nutella Waffles and unfortunately, they were so sweet that I started to feel sick after eating a little bit of it. I think they would've tasted better without so much Nutella. The fruit was drowned in it too, so there was no balance to the sweetness. However, my waitress was incredible and empathetic and she gave me a few pieces of fried chicken for free to try and make up for it and when I tell you that was the best fried chicken I've ever had, I am not exaggerating. Literally melts in your mouth. I ended up ordering more of it and devoured all of it before I could take a picture. I wish I remembered her name (taller black woman and I believe her hair was in a bun?), but honestly, all of the waiters were attentive and helpful, so I think it's also just a good culture there. I am traveling and dining solo on a trip around California. This is my first visit to this establishment dated December 28, 2024. Although it's associated with the golf course, think of it as a freestanding café and restaurant. There is ample parking, good signage. Friendly and accommodating staff. Pleasant decor, and some seats have a view of the ocean. The menu is varied. I went with the vegan burrito and was really delighted with it. The tortilla was soft, and the filling of potatoes, spinach and mushrooms was a nice blend. There was a Mole' type sauce on the side. Service was fast. My family stopped by for a bite after a quick trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on the weekend. The parking lot was pretty packed when we arrived at 11:30, probably because it's right next to a golf course. Luckily, we were seated right away--my kids were already starting to get hangry! I ordered the clam chowder with cheese toast, while my husband went for the chicken and waffles. The kids each chose from the kids' menu--one had grilled cheese and fries, and the other went for a strawberry Nutella half-waffle with bacon. My clam chowder was pretty tasty--I'm not used to bacon in my chowder, but it was a nice twist. This was my first visit, and much anticipated. I came to try the award winning Bloody Mary! I've tried them all across the peninsula, and immediately I could tell the mix is house made. The balance of fresh and zest was perfect. The bacon was made fresh for the drinks, and that was a special and unexpected touch. We were seated as a party of 2, on the patio, by Elias. He was warm, personable and helpful. He managed to exist in that service space that offers customers everything they need without being overbearing. He's a true gem, and will create a positive impression anywhere lucky enough to employ him. We were served by Rebecca. She was informative, friendly and peppered our experience with the perfect about of joy. She made helpful menu recommendations, as well. I'm impressed. Absolutely so impressed by this gem of a restaurant down the street from me! I'm not exaggerating but the waffle was probably the best waffle I've ever had. There was something magical about it like it had vanilla extract in it and it was so fluffy and fresh. The real maple syrup does put it over the top. The Bloody Mary is also amazing. So many accoutrements--bacon, cornichons, celery, onion, carrot and so good! If you don't get the Bloody Mary, whatever you get should have a side of bacon. Came on a weekend and it was busy but not busy enough that we had to wait for a table or service was slow. The service was prompt and friendly. I did come back on a Friday for lunch and service was very slow. Only three other tables but it took like 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order and come to our table. Nevertheless, the food is absolutely worth it. The double cheeseburger is also amazing, juicy, and flavorful. I love the crispy fries and be sure to order the sides like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions (these are upon request). The restaurant has nice views of the golf course and ocean. Between the food and service this is an easy place to skip. The Huevos ranchero breakfast " Voted best five years in a row" should be terminated immediately. I could not believe how bad this was and for $25 you expect a level of quality. The chorizo is used as a garnish, smothered the tortillas in brown salsa, unripe avocado. The service was so upsetting. Such a horrible and disappointing experience. It appeared to be busy but there were a ton of empty tables outside so not sure why it took close to so longs to be seated... I was really excited about the food after seeing the pictures. After being seated, it took over 30 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and come over to take our drink order. We saw other people being seated and having their order taken right away. When someone finally came over to us, we told them about the situation and that we wanted to leave. They brought over their manager, told him everything and only got a "I'm sorry about that, can I take your order now?", nothing to fix the problem or make up for it. Also no because at this point it had been 45+ mins of sitting there and still would have to wait for the drinks and food to arrive. I would not expect this kind of service at this kind of establishment. The service we received was nothing like what others were getting. I personally feel that it was because we were younger and of color unlike the rest of the folks eating there. Please stay away and go elsewhere. It's unfortunate that I can't reply to the response provided by management separately. I was never asked if I enjoyed my meal. I only ate the eggs.
