I have been a loyal customer at Today Nail for over a year now, and I can't say enough about how wonderful this salon is. Lydia and Romey are not only extremely kind but also incredibly attentive, detailed, and honest about what they can and can't do. I genuinely feel that they care about their customers and take pride in their work. This is a small salon with no more than three people working at a time, and they operate by appointment only. I highly recommend calling ahead at least a few days in advance to secure your spot. They do not do squeeze-ins, which I appreciate because it shows they don't want to rush their work. The salon itself is cozy and always very clean. I love the ambiance with kdramas, kpop, or Korean music playing on their TV--it adds a fun touch to the experience. Whatever design picture I bring to them, they are able to recreate it closely to my liking. No other salon I've been to has felt this personal. I never feel like my nails are being rushed. Each nail artist who has done my nails takes their time and is very detailed. I am always happy with the results and constantly receive compliments on my nails. I recently had a bio gel/builder gel mani that lasted an impressive 4 weeks. That's the kind of quality and longevity you can expect here. I'll be moving away from the area soon, and one of the things I'll miss most about Northridge and the Valley is Today Nail. Thank you for taking care of me every month and making me feel my best. Today I came here since I've wanted to try GEL X nails. My nails got damaged after getting Acrylics for months. The owner at another salon in Reseda broke one of my nails when she tried taking them off. I was left traumatized... After seeing the reviews of this salon I made an appointment with Ashley for GEL X NAILS and a regular pedicure. I showed her a pic and she replicated the nails from the pics. She took her time, and was careful with my nails after explaining to her what had happened. Loved the end result! The price was 65, but 5 dollars for each design (got 2). Lydia did my pedicure and she did a wonderful job too. The pedicure was 25. All in total 100. It was well worth it though. read more

Came in for a gel pedicure and from the beginning i knew I was in good hands. Arrived early and was greeted upon walking in. Didn't get the name of who did my pedicure but she was amazing. There were only 3 nails techs in the salon and was helped by a second tech on picking a color. All were very friendly. The attention to detail on my pedicure was exactly what I was looking for!!! Cleaned up my cuticles precisely. Pedicure included a scrub and hot towel which was great. They have a huge selection of gel polishes. You'll definitely find something to love. Will say that the only possible downfall is the limited parking in the plaza. Take this all coming from someone that's been in the nail industry for 5+ years. I've been doing my own pedicures for a while but it's nice to pamper myself for a change. Have been on the search for a quality salon in the area for months. So glad I found this place post-quarantine! After not having gotten my nails done for more than a year, I looked up places in the valley to try Gel-X for the first time and they did NOT disappoint. All of the employees here are so sweet and after a handful of successful visits, I'm so glad I don't have to keep looking for salons! Everything here is clean and professional and they always follow COVID-19 protocols. I've gotten 5 Gel-X manicures here now by different people, and each time they've lasted 3 weeks with no issues! I have found my new nail salon finally. Things I look for in a great nail salon: cleanliness of salon and tools, wide variety of color selection, nail techs that do great work every time, and friendly staff. This place checks all the boxes plus more. I called right before the covid stay at home shutdown order and unfortunately the salon had closed, but the nice lady on the phone took my name and number down and said she would call when they reopen. Almost 4 months went by and as soon as they reopened I got a text alerting me that they were opening soon by appointment only with COVID-19 procedures in place. The text alone surprised me because my other nail ladies at different salons didn't bother to text or call. I made my first pedi appointment and loved the entire experience. After my pedi I made another appointment for gel mani which was yesterday and again another great experience. My fave part is how caring and patient the nail tech is when cleaning up the nails and applying polish. Parking is limited in the small plaza, but you can definitely find parking for free on the streets. Make sure make an appointment. All the ladies in the salon are friendly and will spark up good conversation with you. They have the cutest nail colors and trends some imported from Korea. read more

Decided to try this new place out! The facility is not only clean and vibrant, they carry a variety of different brands, colors all high end quality polish. I absolutely love love LOVE my nail technician Romey. I didn't come in with a design but she helped pick out a few colors and bam my nails came out amazing! Before going to this place I read other reviews and was hoping I would find my go to but after the 2 bad experiences I had, I'm not going back. Based on my experience I'm giving them 1 star because they really need to work on their customer service skills. The girl name Ashley is the worst!! She's rude, doesn't listen, wants to give you what she wants not what you want or what you're willing to pay for, has an attitude and argued back with me like she was paying out of her pocket for the service my mother was getting. The reason is because they're lazy and they just didn't want to spend the time on a gel mani & pedi. She's also very rough on your feet so watch out for that. The place is clean and they have lots of colors but they limit you on what colors you can get. Another thing I didn't like is that for both of my appts. I asked for an early time so they said what time you want? I said if you have 9am (which is the time they open) I'll take it and the lady was like "no, come at 9:20am instead". Then why ask me what time I want if you're going to choose it for me. It sucks that this place didn't work for me. read more

The only reason I'll give this place 1 star is because their work is decent. Other than that, their customer service is absolutely horrible. The past 3 appointments I've had, they made me wait 20 minutes to be worked on while other people got worked on right away. And forget about telling them if they're able to fix something on your nails, because they will give you a dirty look and take to each other in Korean so you cannot understand what they're saying. SO RUDE! After all, you're paying good money for the service to be done correctly, but it's an issue for them if you say anything at all. You can also guarantee that your gel manicure will chip within the week that you get them done. I work in an office and rarely do things that could potentially chip my polish, but every time, it never fails, at least 2 of my nails chip within a week of getting them done. I really wanted to love this place and gave them multiple chances, but time and time again they've proved that they don't care about their clients or customer service. This was my first time at this salon and I came in with grown out acrylics. They took great care of removing the very thick acrylics I had gotten from a different salon. I was undecided of what color to get, and Romey, the nail tech who worked on my nails, recommended me this color. I loved the shape and the color she picked out for me! They were all very nice and welcoming. The salon was clean and beautiful. There were plenty of nail color selections and a nice nail color display. It felt very comfortable being in there.
