Stepping into this restaurant is like walking into a museum laced with red walls and Day of the Dead murals. As one looks around, they will soon observe a margarita on almost every table, possibly even a pitcher. A friend and I had the pleasure of dining here last week and we were very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere of this unique local haunt. Some of the dishes that we tried and HIGHLY recommend are: - Mozzerella Sticks: they were a good size and came with (2) sauces and a fried tortilla. - Pasta Ala Stroganoff: the flavors of the carnitas blended with the cream sauce and fettucine noodles was a delicious take on this traditional dish. - Blood Orange Margarita: most places do not carry this flavor, the portion was generous and the flavor was a good balance of tart and sweet. - Dessert: cheesecake with a sweet & spicy mole sauce with local pears drizzled with chocolate sauce. A very distinct and flavorful take on two very common and traditional menu items - it was another successful creative combination. Note: our server mentioned this is a seasonal dish, so this may or may not be available when you dine here. This was my 2nd time visiting Todo Un Poco and I was a little disappointed. The first time I visited, we had to wait a little longer than usual for our food, but not a big deal. This time was a little different. We visited this previous Sunday and there was a fair amount of people there. We were greeted and seated by the host whom is the owner. She is extremely nice and friendly. We were sat and she took our appetizer order, but no one came back to take our regular order. We got our appetizer without placing our order, so we had to flag down someone to take our order. My partner ordered the Mole Enchiladas and I ordered the Chicken and Cilantro Spaghetti. I asked the gentlemen who took our order if I could swap the chicken with shrimp as I am Pescatarian. (Our order was not written down) It took some time and my partner received his order, but mine didn't arrive until 5-10 minutes later. As I was eating my dish, about halfway through, I noticed bits of shredded chicken at the bottom of the plate. My thought is someone forgot to mention to swap the chicken with shrimp and it had already been made with chicken which is why there was a delay. When we received our bill, we noticed an extra charge for shrimp, but it had not been communicated to us, nor was there an indication on the menu that there would be an up charge for shrimp. The dish on the menu is $20, but I was charged an additional $6.50. Came here with the family. It's been a little bit since we have been here. Marie the owner did not disappoint. Her passion for the food and experience you get was felt. Lanai was awesome. She was always checking in with us making sure our glasses were full and she was so pleasant. We started with a couple margaritas and sangria. The margaritas were made perfectly. We ordered the parole,queso fundido, pizza,Mac n Cheese and enchiladas. The Mac n cheese was the best. I'm not a parole person but I tried it and it was bang bang ‼ very good. This place was a recommendation to us from a neighbor so we (hubby and I) wanted to try it. I could feel the Mexican & Italian vibe when we walked in. Service was friendly and it seemed like there were a lot of "regulars" as many people there knew the staff and also the bartenders. One of my favorite Mexican dishes is mole so I ordered the Mole Enchiladas. My husband loves pasta so he ordered the Shrimp Raviolis. We also ordered a side of fried bananas which we thought was an appetizer but was a dessert! We also tried the Italian soda's on the menu. My mole enchiladas were not as special as I was hoping it would be. The sauce was a little more bitter for my liking and the whole dish was a bit dry but hubby loved the ravioli's. I also tasted them and it was good! Surprisingly, my favorite dish ended up being the fried bananas, platanos fritos con crema! It was delicious the way it was prepared. The experience when you're at Todo Un Poco is outstanding. When you walk through the door, the theme is red, and there are paintings of skeletons, people, Mona Lisa. About 95% of the tables are chairs, but there are a few booths. Murals in the front of the restaurant having a background to them, there was a worker of the year in 2021. Do yourself a favor by not going to any other Mexican restaurants, when your craving pizza, pasta, this is the place to go. The chef is a girl who really likes dogs, and makes the food from scratch. Depending on the day you go, it depends on the wait to be seated. Our server was Janae, she had top service she was thorough and helpful. The wait for your food is about 15-20 minutes. To those healthy people out there they have automatic refills on water. When it came to the food portions, they were normal size, having said that you could probably finish your meal. This is one of the best restaurants at Elk Grove in my opinion. No matter you like Italian food or you're enjoying Mexican food more. The restaurant is in a shopping center which is not very busy in the evening. So very easy to get parking close to the entrance. The waitress is very friendly and she is handling the entire dining room very well. They have a full bar with a very good selection of wines and cocktails on the menu. A couple minutes later, another person was seated at a table next to us and very shortly afterwards, the waiter brought him water and was explaining the specials. The last time I visited this place was around 11 years ago . They served my friend and I Costco tortilla chips and pace salsa . I was looking forward to seeing how much this place has changed. No more Costco tortilla chips, but they did serve us what seemed like pace salsa? I appreciated how the tortilla chips tasted fresh, though! My friends ordered the : cilantro spaghetti, shrimp ravioli , and piri piri chicken , while I got the papas y rajas. Before we started eating , we started with tequila shots . I'm used to restaurants giving us a heads up on what tequilas they carry, but this place didn't do that . Our food came out in a timely matter, but the server guy with the pony tail always had a smart comment to say whenever he was at our table . It was unnecessary and unprofessional . My simple dish which consisted of mainly potatoes and some sort of tomato sauce was just ok. However, the beans and rice were not good at all . My friends seemed to be content with their dishes and we ended the night with churros that had a strawberry filling. We all didn't care much for them and thought that the artificial tasting strawberry jam didn't pair well inside the churro . A true gem. If you're not in Elk Grove this place is worth the drive. Their food is a fusion of Italian-Mexican that results in new twists on comforting favorites. This is the most confusing restaurant I've ever been to with a fusion of Italian and Mexican food. We ordered the Mexican meatball which was bland with spinach leaves as a garnish. I ordered the Mexican paella which came in a bowl with mushy rice and spinach leaves as a garnish again. Its a disgrace to call it a Paella. I've been to Spain a few times and had authentic paella. We found our new favorite spot. This is the best combinations of Mexican Italian with hints of Portuguese Spanish and Indian flavors. Everything taste like more. I had the Mexican lasagna my husband had the eldiablo shrimp . Put that all aside , the ambience is fantastic. Todo Un Poco's staying power undoubtedly is its unique blend of Mexican/Italian food, attentive service and artsy atmosphere, which is unlike most eateries in the Elk Grove/Sacramento area, where everything seems to be trending farm-to-fork American food (not a bad thing). After all these years, I'd say my two favorite dishes are still the Chicken and Cilantro Spaghetti and the Tamales Regionales, but they've got a bit of everything for you, pun intended. Sangria came in a large wine glass but it was 3/4 full of ice. Maybe a 1/2 cup of sangria. Disappointing. We ordered arroz con pollo, a Caesar salad & mussels with a chorizo sauce. The chicken & rice plate was horrible. Took forever to come out and when it did, it seemed like they microwaved leftovers. Tasted like chemicals and old. The fried plantain (banana) were barely fried. The Caesar salad was over dressed and no croutons. The mussels had no flavor & way too much tomato sauce. They gave us a sliced, grilled dinner roll that was buttered to accompany the mussels. Looked like a store-bought roll. Took our chip bowl away without asking if we'd like a refill and never asked ai we wanted additional drinks. Took forever to get our check. Waitress was nice & friendly but not knowledgeable and trying to serve all tables alone. Some guy came out to serve food. Was dark, cold inside. Hubby had to go get a jacket from the car.
