Loved the bento box, great portion for the price. Makes me a believer in the bento box when i was not before! Cute atmosphere, great menu, quick and easy lunch. I can see why this is one of Leon Bridges' favorites!

Return visit and still impressed! I love the rotating weekly happy hour specials -- 3 different apps for $15 is seriously a can't-beat deal. This week's lineup was SO good: Spicy Salmon Tacos, Curry Poutine Fries, and Brisket Dumplings. The dumplings... I could've ordered an endless basket and been completely in love. Absolute standout. The fries weren't bad, but I probably wouldn't order them again. I just wish the toppings were more evenly distributed instead of mostly piled on top. The Spicy Salmon Tacos were the perfect little bites with a solid kick. I did ask if they could be made with another fish and was told no. which I understand, but I'd love to see that as an option in the future. These definitely deserve a permanent spot on the menu. We also tried the Roll of the Week (can't remember the name!) and added a happy hour tempura roll -- both delicious. My son ordered a side of chicken and rice, which was the perfect portion for him since they don't have a kids menu. Plenty of seating options and a great use of the layout. Friendly staff as always. We'll definitely be back!

I really enjoy Tokyo Café! They have great sushi rolls, as well as daily sushi specials& Ramen.

I had a pleasant lunch at Tokyo Cafe. The vibe is casual, great service and excellent dishes. I enjoyed their happy hour rotating menu and I would highly recommend trying the Butadon bowl and Kani Ebi roll. The calamari was sliced into thick chunks and the batter was slightly soggy- I couldn't finish those due the texture. The Tan Tan Ramen broth is very flavorful, and the garlic really stands out. Overall, a very nice restaurant with good eats. Next time i'd like to try their lunch bento box.

Steamed Edamame & Tok Fries

When you walk in you feel transported to a different place. The service is on point. We started with edamame with sea salt. They had the perfect amount of salt for us. Most places don't put enough. We also had the Tok fries! If you haven't had these, its a Just try. We made it for lunch and they have build your own bento. What a great value! I got the salmon with steamed rice, miso and cucumber salad. I asked for teriyaki sauce on the side. He got the chicken teriyaki bowl. He did have to ask for extra teriyaki sauce. Which they didn't charge for the side of both sauces. Would definitely come back.

This is my first visit to Tokyo Cafe and it did not disappoint. The service was great, very good, fast, and friendly. The restaurant space is small, reservations are recommended. It feels open and bright. The food was absolutely awesome. Overall, excellent.

The ambiance is super chill.. Our waitress Jessica was very attentive and pleasant. Our appetizer was a cucumber salad , lacked a little bit of flavor , but cucumbers were fresh.. The Tok Fries were delicious.. Piping hot and full of flavor. It's is served with a side of dry seasoning and a mayo... BEST fries I have had in a while.. The main course: build your own bento box , the chicken teriyaki very flavorful as well chose steam rice and a salad .. Also, ordered Yakisoba Noodles with chicken as the protein. It did not disappoint... Temptation roll hit the spot!! Most definitely will be back!

Westside Ramen Beef Bowl

We've been wanting to try this place and it was a great experience, from the Asian decor to the welcoming atmosphere to the food. We got the Shumai to start off and it was pretty good. I suggest having the sauce on the side if you're not into really spicy things. My boyfriend got the beef bowl and it was delish. The beef was perfectly seasoned and the sauce had a great flavor. You don't get much protein, so next time he wants to order it with extra meat. I got the west side Ramen which was yummy. The broth was ok, but the noodles were good and plenty. I got the pork loin since I always get the pork belly, so it wasn't as flavorful. Overall it was good, but I've had better. Definitely a place to try if you're in the area and/or want to eat good food.

Tok Fries

Stopped in on a weekend afternoon and it was fairly busy. I was seated quickly, however the service was fairly slow. Food was absolutely delicious however and I'll be returning for sure. The sushi is fresh and very well made. Tok fries are out of this world good -- very reminiscent of shinjuku station.

Best East Asian fusion in Fort Worth, hands down. Great service, and local family-owned . Make reservations during the heavy dinner windows, espeically on weekends, as it's always packed, but love that they still do walk-ins.

It's a smaller place so it can definitely get packed but when you can get a spot you're in for a treat!! Our waitress was super friendly, giving recommendations on her favorite dishes and checking up on us periodically. The food was delicious, we did a bunch of dishes to share and I honestly think that's the best way to try as many things as possible. The decor is nice and fresh, making for a modern-cozy place. Can't wait to go back!

2 orders of Salmon Sashimi, Tokyo roll, Tempura roll. It was Happy Hour so I think the rolls are smaller than at regular price.

Can you pay in cash?

Yes

Do they have a kids menu?

No they don't

Is there a vegetarian ramen available? For some reason I couldn't see one on the menu. Thanks

Yes they do have vegetarian options. Just ask them for it. I believe is was miso based or something similar but we had to special request

Does this restaurant serve items with Wagyu beef?

I know they have a short rib dish, however I don't remember seeing wagyu or Kobe beef in their menu. Hope this helps.

Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is a Japanese hand roll restaurant that focuses on fresh seafood,…read moremade-to-order sushi, and a more interactive dining experience. We walked into a space centered around sitting at the bar and watching the chefs prepare each hand roll in front of us, which gave the meal a more personal feel compared to a traditional sushi restaurant. The setup is smaller and more intimate, making the experience feel closer to a sushi bar rather than a casual meal spot. The biggest highlight is the quality of the fish and the hand rolls themselves. The seafood tastes fresh, clean, and carefully prepared, with options like salmon belly, otoro, kanpachi, and crab hand rolls standing out. We ordered a few different rolls and found each one well executed, with the fish having a clean, bright flavor that did not rely on heavy sauces or toppings. Each roll is made individually, so the nori stays crisp and the textures come through better than pre-made sushi. The menu has a good balance of classic choices and more creative combinations, making it easy to try different flavors throughout the meal. The chef interaction adds another layer to the visit. Since everything is prepared right in front of you, we could see the attention put into each piece, from assembling the ingredients to serving it at the right moment. The chefs were precise in their movements and took the time to explain the different fish and flavor profiles, which made the meal feel more like an experience rather than just ordering sushi off a menu. One thing to plan for is the wait. Hatsuyuki does not take reservations, and the popularity means there can be a significant line during busy hours. We arrived earlier and found it helped us avoid a longer wait. Seating is limited, but that also helps maintain the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant. The intimate size of the bar means the service stays focused and the pacing remains personal, even when the restaurant is full. Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is one of the stronger sushi experiences in the area for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and a more curated dining style. The wait can be a downside, but the quality of the fish, chef preparation, and overall atmosphere make it worth visiting, especially if you are looking for something beyond standard sushi rolls. The focus on craftsmanship and the personal interaction with the chefs elevate the meal into something more memorable than a typical sushi stop.

We ended up waiting about an hour and a half, even though we noticed other people arriving after us and getting seated right away while we were still waiting. That felt pretty uncalled for, especially since other guests who arrived after us were seated first, and a few other couples agreed. That being said, the sushi was delicious, and the service was very attentive and friendly. I just wish the seating process had been handled better.

Pros: Peter, the owner and chef, greeted our table and told us his sushi specials, which are flown in special from Tokyo every Friday so they change weekly. We had the o-toro, chu-toro, aji, and fluke, and all were amazing quality and you got a lot of fish for the price. They have a lot of sushi combos and platters to service a variety of sizes of parties. We had the sushi combo which was plenty of fish, especially with the cut sizes. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Cons: the entrance is a little off putting but you shouldn't let that deter you. the french menu was lacking in my opinion. There is only one page of options, and we ended up not ordering anything french since the japanese was so appealing. I would've liked to see some seafood or more small plates. Overall the fish quality and piece sizes will keep me coming back! I definitely want to try some of the hot plate options as well. add it to your list!
