We got the 2 & 3 item bento box and it's super filling and good. A lot of varieties & different options you can choose from. Beef teriyaki was super good & a good portion, i loved the miso soup, very hot. Service could have been better, not sure if it was because it was busy or they need more staff. Ordered a soda and never received it & had to request for it to be taken off the bill. Waiters would hardly pass through so it was hard to order dessert, boxes & the check. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Hidden gem! Its in an inconspicuous location that may look a tad on the sketchy side but the restaurant itself is decorated nicely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once we sat down we were immediately served with a bowl of miso soup each and a bowl of edamame to share (love complimentary dishes!!!). Our waitress was Sharon, she said the oysters is a customer favorite and hers. It didnt take too much convincing since i love raw oysters. I ordered half a dozen and devoured it quickly and ordered another dozen. Lol. I'm not for sure but it might be kumamto oysters (so good!). I also ordered their yellowtail sashimi. My co-worker ordered two different rolls. It disappeared quickly too. I have to say the food and customer service is spot on. I definitely will be back especially since it's close to work! read more

I've now come here a few times and unfortunately, it seems to just get worse and worse however continues to have some similarities (negatively). First of all, if you look through all the reviews always there's always a mention about gnats / fruit flies... every single time that I've come I always see them swirling around my table and it's disgusting. Quality has really taken a dive, and last night was awful. The sushi that I received was not only not fresh, but did not taste normal at all. In one of the photos, you can see bottom right is supposed to be tuna, however, it was more pink, which tells me that it is not fresh and frozen. Also you can tell when sushi is not fresh when you press on it and the sushi does not move back to its original shape, it was uneatable. Service was great...but sadly that won't cut it. Overall, this will be the last time I come to this place simply because the quality is dreadful, and the fact that I was served terrible sushi is a testament that they don't care about quality, and whoever was cutting that sashimi up in the back should be ashamed to serve that... read more

We joined the waitlist on Yelp and asked for a table as I had an ADA guest that is not able to fit into the booths. We have been to this location several times with no issues sitting at a table. When I joined the waitlist it said estimated wait 15-30mins. I monitored the waitlist and I saw several parties that were under us on the waitlist get seated before. I thought this was due to the table being cleaned and prepped for us. When my parry was called I approached the check in counter and I was dismissed by the server Citlaly. She helped other people and completely ignored me. She then told me to put my name on the waitlist and I showed her proof that I received a text stating my table was ready. She then told me that we cannot sit at a table and that we would have to sit in a booth I told her that I specifically stated on yelp that we needed a table and she said well you are just going to have to wait there are no tables. I told her I have been to this location several times and there are tables. Unfortunately my friend is a largely disabled body and does not fit in a booth. She told me there was only one table in the location and I would have to wait for them to leave. I told her I know there are more tables than the table in the front. She was helping everyone else and left us in the front just standing there. I myself am a disabled veteran as well and I don't appreciate how she treats disabled people stating that they cannot accommodate the needs of people with disabilities. I know this is against the Americans with Disabilities Act. I asked if there was a supervisor or someone in charge I could speak with in regards to the situation and she kept saying no the manager is not in. I kept trying to ask to speak with someone and said I could call the location tomorrow and ask for Brian. Never once did she apologize make me feel welcomed. Anthony called my name off the wait list and I told him the situation and he was able to get a table cleaned up for us to sit finally. He apologized for what happened so it restored my mood a bit although I was already feeling humiliated and belittled. I used to love coming here, but the last couple of times have not been so great. This was the worst experience I had at a restaurant trying to get seated. The location in Covina is a bit further for me, but I feel like at this point I would rather go there and not come back to this location. I gave a rating at a 3 because normally I have a good experience and the food is great. read more

Sometimes when you don't want to cook and looking for something upscale without breaking the bank, Crazy Rock'N Sushi is thee place! They're happy hour specials always hits the spot, both in appetite and budget. One of the things I really like about this place is their consistency. The food is always delicious, the customer service is always friendly and you leave always satisfied. If you're new to sushi/rolls, I would definitely write the names down and write a mini review for yourself. That way for your next visit, you can order something different or reorder your favorite dish. It's like Baskin Robbins 31 flavors, but with fish! The food was very good. As soon as you get there they have miso soup and edamame on your table. We had the mixed tempura, bulgogi and baked mussels with salad and rice. Food and service is great! This is our go to local Spot for sushi as it is very close to home. Ambiance is nice! Love how it looks like you're in Japan. Zen roll is my absolute favorite and I always order the Chirashi Sushi is Super fresh and delicious. Terriaki chicken and beef is delicious too! I'm only giving it 4 stars because twice my mom found a single hair in her salad when we first started eating there a few years back. I will say the did apologize and replaced the salad with another one. We've dined there several times after that incident and it has not happened again so I'm sure they remedied whatever needed to be done for that not to occur again. Definitely not what it used to be. To preface this; I used to frequent this establishment circa 2012-2015. It is a shame that this location has cut corners and hired some of the most complacent employees. The renovations do nothing if the food is mediocre and the service is abysmal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wish it would go back to what it was pre-renovations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came in on Christmas Day and it wasn't busy. We weren't greeted at the front door, in fact one of the food runners dodged us and didn't say anything. We were legitimately waiting in the front for about 5 mins until the hostess came to seat us immediately. We got there around 8:30pm, sat down around 8:36pm and then we proceeded to place our order at 8:45pm. We waited, what felt like an eternity, about 30 mins before I let our waiter know we will be cancelling our order as there wasn't an ETA when our rolls were going to come out. Mind you, we were sat next to a couple with a newborn who had already finished their whole entire meal (who arrived approximately 10 mins prior to us (we asked how long they were waiting), meanwhile we had no dishes on our table. The server wasn't even around for us to be able to ask how long it would take. What a shame and the food isn't worth the price point, better off going to SUGARFISH. read more

That blue fin sashimi is excellent! Should have laid on a Saturday night not to long before closing and we were treated right away and treated excellently. The fish quality here is so much better than other Crazy Rock'N sushi spots! I love the ambiance too with the built in booths feels a lot like Japan. The place does feel not as clean sometimes though. The bathrooms can be a little gross. So 1 pt off for that and 1 pt off bc you never get a great treating mostly they ignore you. But then the service from all the waiters is really good! read more

A great place to go for good sushi! Definitely a neighborhood favorite of mine! Eating in or ordering to go- the servers and staff are always very friendly . The ambiance is quaint - if you go by yourself or in a pair or a big group- they can always accommodate your party! They have a self check in kiosk which is convenient - and the wait isn't crazy long if they do have a line - which can be on occasion since they're really popular - especially when eating over the weekend ! Parking was plentiful Waiting times varies depending on days of the week. I went once on a Friday ( wait time was an hour) Compared to a Monday which was no wait at all. Food quality is delicious Customer service varies. I've had great service. Then there's been times where I'm waiting for a water for a refill for 30 minutes when it's completely slow but they're no where to be found. There are a lot of families that go. So maybe not a first date location due to lots of kids crying and running around. Over all 3 out of 5 read more

This place doesn't look it from the outside, but it's themed and the decor is very cute. The service was medicore, the waiters are not too knowledgeable. The price point is average comparing to other sushi restaurants. The food presentation was decent, not the best, but no complaint. The important part of sushi is its freshness, and it was definitely fresh. Overall, it was a satisfying visit. It gets a 3.8 out of 5. Will visit again. read more

I crave this place so much that I'm a regular now to sit and eat alone whereas I used to come here with family and friends. Sushi is always fresh. I usually get the mamacita and BSCR rolls. It doesn't disappoint my stomach, I feel safe to eat the rolls here. Servers are awesome, very friendly and chill but attentive to anything needed. No. They don't offer all you can eat but they have "happy hour" options after 9:00 pm. The food and atmosphere is very good. Be sure to get there with time to wait since it's almost always pretty busy.

Do they offer cucumber wrap here instead of rice?

Their protein roll is cucumber wrapped. Not sure if you can request customizations for their other rolls.

How am I supposed to place an order through the phone if the number is ALWAYS "busy" and can't order online if I don't have access through the Internet. That's what the phone orders are for obviously, but I can't get through that's so bothersome?

Sometimes they get really busy (especially on the weekends) so they turn off phones/online orders. Walk ins are usually preferred but they still have really long wait times for dine in & takeout orders.

I noticed a white, plastic-sealed bag containing six to seven rolls in plastic containers, sitting on the counter, ready for pickup. I asked the employee if that was my order. She checked the name on the receipt and advised that it was not my order. Ok, no problem, I stated. I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Fifteen to twenty minutes went by, and still, no sushi. The lone female employee was taking phone orders and handed two customers who had also been waiting for their orders. The fish looks clean, the fat is delicate, and there's no unpleasant fishy taste. The best part? The price is really reasonable for the quality -- it's not the kind of place that looks expensive but doesn't deliver. You can really taste the freshness, and you leave feeling it was totally worth it. I happened to hear the table next to me talking about this place saying they have a much larger selection of rolls and even 50% off for the 2nd roll.... mmm.. SO of course I dragged my bf to hit this place up! Service was A-ok! We walked in from the back door which is barely visible from the front but we were seated right away. I expected a wait since I read from other yelpers they usually get pretty packed, but I guess we were lucky! Our server, Josh, was really friendly and answered all the questions we had about the menu. Was really attentive and made sure everything went well for us. Thanks so much Josh! Their menu is packed with a ton of rolls and it seems there was an "additional menu" for even more rolls! We ordered their "super negitoro roll" (toro is my favorite), the Alaskan roll and their "kanpachi jalapeno". They were SO GOOD. That spicy kick really complimented the yellowtail sashimi. We come here almost every week if not maybe more....there's something for everyone and I'm talking a family of 4 which includes a 5yo and a toddler! The service is super awesome. I think we pretty much know every server there and they always accommodate my endless requests for something! =o). If my babies are happy, then this spot is our familys sushi spot. The food is good, albeit I'm not a sushi snob, but I always do a sniff test and everytime we have had awesome sushi. I can get all my faves from the happy hour menu and my hubby can have his sesame chicken and jalapeno poppers (which are pretty darn good) and the kids get tofu, miso soup, edamame and gyoza...everything still at a good price...family of 4 for $40ish =o) its our weekly splurge but its worth it. Absolutely my new favorite sushi spot in the San Gabriel Valley! Crazy Rock'N Sushi in La Puente exceeded all my expectations. We came with a group of 4 and left completely satisfied. The sashimi platter is a must-order--thick, fresh cuts of salmon, toro, yellowtail, plus sweet uni and tender octopus. The quality rivals high-end restaurants but at a much friendlier price. We loved the sushi roll deals: buy one get one half off on specialty rolls! The Unagi Roll was rich and savory, and the Geisha Roll with seared salmon and tempura shrimp was packed with flavor. Lunch specials are perfect for workers--generous unagi don and chirashi bowls with lots of fresh fish. We also tried the teriyaki beef combo and baked mussels with cheese; both were delicious and filling. Conveniently located near Rowland Heights, West Covina, and City of Industry. I recently visited Crazy Rockin Roll Sushi in La Puente, I was disappointed with my experience. The food quality has plummeted over the years. It used to be a decent place to grab some sushi. The service was nothing to write home about. It was just average. On a slightly positive note, the interior design of the restaurant is quite nice. They've put some effort into creating a pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. My biggest gripe with Crazy Rockin Roll Sushi is the pricing. It's absolutely ridiculous. They charge nearly $2.50 per roll, especially considering the subpar quality of the sushi. There are so many better sushi places in the area that are much more budget-friendly. I do not recommend Crazy Rockin Roll Sushi in La Puente. They are busy majority of the time so I do acknowledge the wait time in general for seating and getting your food can be a little long. I did a DoorDash order and called in since last time no sauces or utensils were added therefore I wanted to make sure it didn't happen again. The store manager Danielle picked up the call and was a straight up bitch. I understand you're busy but her rudeness and attitude was not necessary. She would talk on the phone like if you were stupid. I do see on here that she has a lot of negative reviews so I'm surprised nothing has been expressed to her and her matter of customer servicing. Really solid lunch spot in La Puente, especially if you go during their weekday specials. The Chirashi ($19.95, Mon-Fri lunch) comes with 8 thick-cut pieces of sashimi and a well-seasoned rice base topped with roe, tamago, and crab -- way better than the usual "basic bowl" at this price. They also offer Sushi Combo ($25.95 lunch special) with 8 pieces of sushi + a tuna roll, and a $35 10-piece sushi special where you can choose what you want, which is a nice option if you like variety. On top of that, they have 50% off oysters and second roll 50% off, which makes it easy to order extra without the bill getting out of control. Fish tasted fresh and clean across the board. My husband and i are regulars here sad to say today was a huge disappointment this place has been going down hill we are no strangers to waiting we are very understanding when it is busy since we have both worked in the restaurant field today we arrived at 4:30pm didn't get to order till 4:48 our drinks and food took a while to come out shortly after a guy came up and just handed us the check didn't ask if we were done or ready for the check, just slapped it on the table and walked off so we let the guy know when he came around the next time and just ordered 2 rolls to go we waited about 40 minutes for those rolls before just asking to cancel them and paying the bill no apology from the server and no communication at all during the whole time we waited terrible sad to see how low this place has gone service wise read more

I've been here a handful of times, but have never wrote a review! This one is long overdue. Being a fatass, I usually look for AYCE sushi places when craving sushi. But when I'm not as starving or am craving quality over quantity, this is the place that first comes to mind. I've ordered a bunch of different things and have yet to be disappointed, and two rolls that I absolutely LOVE and can't get enough of are the Rolls Royce and the Super Crunch Roll. Yum!! As for service, I've had Christina for the majority of times I've stopped by. She's absolutely amazing!!! She's super attentive and sweet, and knows the menu inside and out. The sushi is absolutely amazing for such a bargain of a price. The happy hour list includes 8 beautifully rolled yet simple rolls of sushi start at 4$. After taking a bite out of my Mexican rolls, I realized I had a mouthgasm. Antonio (one of the servers) was absolutely friendly, serving our food with enthusiasm. The atmosphere was very bar like, and in a good way. Sitting in there will definitely make you comfy. Upgrade to the samurai boat, and you will be in shock when you see how much of a behemoth it was. Each of the sushi on the boat were all unique in taste, and highly would recommend it when having a party of 5. The food I received was not only subpar in taste but also drastically different from what was advertised in the menu photos. The presentation of the dishes was misleading, and the actual items served lacked the appeal and quality shown on the menu. I was genuinely dissatisfied with the freshness and flavor of the sushi; it felt as though little care was taken in preparation. I came here for the first time and we had OUTSTANDING SERVICE from all of the employees on duty! We waited less than 5 minutes and it was pretty busy when we walked in, but we got seated right away. Our waiter, JAY, was very attentive and patient considering it was our first time. He also offered great suggestions for us and described ingredients in various rolls that were new to us. Just had an amazing experience at Crazy Rock'N Sushi ! I ordered the baked salmon roll and the samurai roll, and both were seriously delicious. The crunch dragon roll was rich and flavorful with that perfect warm, savory topping, and the Prince roll had a great balance of textures and taste. Definitely the kind of food you keep thinking about after you leave. Not gonna lie the food looked so good when it came out that I completely forgot to take pictures. Big thanks to Nyccole for taking such great care of us she was super friendly, very efficient, and made the whole experience even better. They seem to have everything in their menu including udon. I'm always ordering their #13 lunch special with California rolls. #13 normally comes with chicken and beef teriyaki, a salad, miso soup, rice and sushi. They are nice and allow me to substitute the sushi with California rolls. I like that their beef teriyaki comes with thicker sliced beef, not bulgogi meat like some Korean owned Japanese restaurants. Yes, their lunch is enough for 2. I take the beef, salad and rice. My wife takes the chicken teriyaki and California rolls. It is the perfect lunch for my wife and I. Service is normally good for me. I haven't eaten here. I only do takeout. They probably have the best deal around for lunch.

We've also celebrated a milestone birthday for my dad a few years back in the banquet room which is great for celebrations. We have our regular go to meals like the combo 3 and combo 18. It's always so much food and good to take home for later. The menu continues to evolve and periodically with sushi rolls and sushi bowls nowadays. Regardless, we always come by to say hi and enjoy some time at Sakuras because it makes us happy to enjoy dinner there with family. Also we eat here so often we can redeem our stamp cards for the freebie appetizers. :) We always appreciate the kindness and hospitality that Johan & family and the rest of staff give us. We always feel welcome and a part of the family when we dine in. That's why Sakuras has been around in West Covina for all these years! 5/5!

The service to order our lunch was prompt and friendly and included delivery to our table. They offer counter/bar seating option, or you can sit in the community seating main dining area. We ordered a Sushi Combo & Spicy Tuna Handroll and a 5 Set Handroll (Tuna, Salmon, Blue Crab, Albacore, Yellowtail). Both orders came with a cup of Miso Soup, and everything was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend you give this place a try!

Especially for the price, the value is so worth! I got the Kinilaw bowl and it was SO flavorful. I could not get enough of it! Their fish was also good, it didn't have a fishy taste. My partner got a 5 protein scoop bowl and he said that his was super delicious! He ate all of it and left no crumbs. Service: AMAZING! The lady who helped us out was so patient with me and my partner and gave us the best recs as it was my first time in a while and my partner's first time.
