Went for Mother's Day 2026 and it had been a while since we had dined here. To our surprise there was a female chef cooking for us and she was absolutely fantastic! I don't recall her name but she was very friendly and fun! The food was a bit over priced for what it was. But it was good. The steaks were extremely thin. Like they took a regular New York steak and sliced on the equator a few times to make it 4 steaks out of the initial one. The cook even said when I requested medium rare that it would be hard for her to achieve that. The bathrooms were clean but the exhaust vents above the tables were covered in grease and grime like it had been months and months since they had been cleaned. There was a lot of smoke lingering in the dining area because the vents seemed bogged down. Other than that, it was good

This is a great hidden jewel in Visalia! Made reservations for during the week; which was perfect. Not busy; had our own table ( felt like we were at an elegant dinner just for us ). The chef was very personable and even did some tricks and was creative while cooking the food. We enjoyed the whole experience. The food was delicious; tasty and hot. The sauces added a nice pinch of spicy ; which made it perfect. We devoured our filled plates and was stuffed for the rest of the day. I would go back in a heartbeat. Ambiance can be fancy or casual; whatever you decide. Only downside is food is pricey !

This was our first time trying Tokyo Garden it went amazingly well. Our waitress was very friendly and very helpful but our cook stole the show. While seeing others being very stoic and quiet our cook Alfredo, or Fred as he said they call him, put on a show!! He was funny, charismatic and super nice! He told us he was new to Visalia and new to Tokyo Garden so this being our first time I think we lucked out! Because now I want to go again just to have Alfredo cook for us! The steaks were perfectly medium, the veggies cooked to a perfect soft crunch! And the fried rice was delicious!

100% curbed my expectations for this experience. We ordered their samurai sushi (9 pc nigiri), two different rolls, and their uni nigiri. Our favorite part was easily the uni because they were only $17. The quality wasn't the best but the size of the uni made up for it. Sadly, quality of everything wasn't the best. A lot of the fish was kinda mushy and bland. The California roll was missing tobiko.. The samurai sushi set even came with half a stick of imitation crab.. like what the heck? Service outside of the sushi chef was bad. We were forgotten a few times. I did appreciate their koi garden setup though so +10 for that.

Haven't been here in decades and the quality of everything from the service to the food was impeccable. Nothing to complain about. I loved the ambiance before, but not with the recent remodel it definitely opened up the floor plan. We had been craving having sushi for a long time and today just happened to be that day. Try it out for yourself.

Came here with lower expectations seeing how there's a very small Asian population in the area and minimal options for sushi. I definitely didn't expect to find premium fish cuts or omakase type experiences. However, my main gripe is how the prices did not reflect the lower quality of sushi. The sushi combo was $42, but had imitation crab as one of the pieces. The California rolls were $12 but didn't even use real crab and weren't dusted with tobiko. The only positive part of the meal was getting two large pieces of uni gunkan for $16.75. For the prices we paid here, we definitely would've gotten a much better experience even in Bay Area with its exorbitant prices.

Came with my family during lunch. Second time I have been here. Both times were great. The place was so clean it was crazy how clean everything was. The servers were all super nice and friendly. The food was really good. I would definitely keep returning. They have a beautiful Coi pond where you can feed the fish, just ask the hostess for fish food. It is a great place to eat some good food and a fun experience to feed the fish.

Was the food cooked well? Yes. Was the restaurant clean? Yes. Service and entire experience was not worth the price.

I highly recommend making a reservation. One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating the staff was since they had no problem storing the birthday cake we had with us and brought it out later for us to celebrate. It was a thoughtful touch that made the experience even better. I ordered the Wassabi Teppan Dinner with Chilean Sea Bass that came with miso soup, sesame salad, and your ice cream flavor of choice. The bacon fried rice was easily my favorite part of the meal as it was savory and packed with flavor. It was my first time ordering the Chilean sea bass this visit, but it was a bit underwhelming. The fish itself was cooked well, but I wish it had more seasoning and a better char to bring out its flavor. I've had the steak entrée here on prior visits, and honestly, I'd choose the beef over the sea bass next time. One small critique is the vegetables that come with the meal since it included bean sprouts, which felt like a filler. I would've much preferred more of the sautéed vegetables they typically serve, like zucchini, carrots, and mushrooms. Overall, Wasabi on Fire is a fun, reliable place for celebrations with friends and family. The service and accommodating staff make it easy to come back, and there are definitely menu items worth returning for.

Per usual, there's lots of seating around the grills that is perfect for big groups and parties. Our chef was so kind and offered to still do the fun teppanyaki tricks even though it was just us 2. I got the seafood combo and it was delightful. Comes with shrimp, calamari scallops, and salmon. My partner got the toro trio, which comes with chicken, teriyaki steak, and shrimp. Everyone who eats at teppanyaki also gets veggies and bacon fried rice. They are always so kind to leave out the bacon if that's not your jam. They'll just fry yours first! Lots of flavorful butter is used to grill everything, but just remind yourself teppanyaki is always a treat! Chef will ask if you like spicy or not and then will give you sauce accordingly. Sauce is always the best part for me! Not sure what they put in it, but I'm sure it's more butter with spices lol. One of my fav teppanyaki spots in town!
