This is a solid family-owned sushi spot located close to MSY airport! The restaurant is cozy and they have a variety of items including sushi, rice dishes, dumplings, and soup. Everything we ordered was promptly served and the waiter stayed attentive for our large group. I don't see mango with sushi often but the combination was very refreshing! Another notable dish was the salmon nigiri with garlic and chili oil - the fried garlic added a really nice crunch at the end of every bite. The fried rice with steak wasn't my favorite because of how chewy the steak was, but all of the sushi/nigiri tasted super fresh and also looked great in presentation!

We were out in Kenner and wanted good sushi. This place did not disappoint. We started with a tuna and jalapeno roll and it was so tasty. We then ordered a spicy tuna roll. It was great and they put a lot of spicy mayonnaise on top which is just how we like it. I then asked for an order of eel sushi which came with 3 pieces of eel. They had toasted it which added to the layers of flavor. We then ordered the LSU roll which was on the fried roll portion of the menu. It was really great and like nothing i had ever tasted. We also ordered a volcano roll and that was great. We don't get out to Kenner that often, but when we do, this restaurant will definitely be one of our stops.

Yes, I know that when in NOLA you must eat Cajun, but I have to tell you that one of the best meals I had during my last visit to NOLA was at Tokyo Grill in Kenner, LA. Our server - exceptional, the Sushi -delicious and fresh, the price - cannot be beat! Three of us ordered the Any 3 Roll, which comes with the choice of Miso soup or salad with ginger dressing ($12.95 each). We ordered the Haru Maki (fried spring rolls $4.55) and Seaweed Salad ($5.95) to share. Soft drinks are $1.50 each. Our total bill was $57.17 minus tip for the three of us. Yes, it's still a bit pricey for lunch, yet still cheaper than many competitors in the area. My Mom and Nancy couldn't finish their meal, leaving them leftovers. After devouring mine, I was stuffed the rest of the day; leaving the remainder of my daily cash allotment for daiquiris, beer, and hard liquor, nice! I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Crunch roll and went with the salad versus the soup. All of the food was delicious. I did not find any of the rolls to be overly spicy. Our server provided additional condiments at our request at no additional charge. She also provided Togo ramekins of our favorite sauces to take home with our leftovers; she was a sweetie! My Mom actually found this place the day previous when she took the grandkid's here for lunch. If it wasn't for Mom, we would not have never experienced Tokyo Grill; great job Mom! If you are in the area looking for some delicious Japanese food prepared without the use of MSG or other harmful chemicals than Tokyo Grill is the place for you.

This was the first time I've had Tokyo Grill in probably about a year but it's just the same as I remember it! They started doing their restaurant service again, but I normally always take out because they're always so fast and they're super close to my house. I ordered the hibachi shrimp and steak that comes with a generous portion of vegetables and an enormous serving of fried rice. Their quality is always great, and I did notice they were a bit more expensive than they used to be (but honestly what place hasn't gotten more expensive nowadays). I seriously love this place and never hesitate to come back! Super friendly and quick service too.

Tokyo Grill has the best prices in the area for quality sushi hands down. Also, they are open for dine in again! Love their atmosphere. I've loved this place for years. I was really looking forward to going here once I moved back to the area.This place doesn't look like much & it is easy to miss since It is located in a shopping center. But for years I've told people that they have some of the best hibachi. The portion sizes are huge. I included a picture of my vegetable hibachi plate. That is a kid's serving size & it comes with pineapples as a side. It's so much I could never finish it all in one sitting. Their sushi rolls aren't bad either. I've never had one I did not like. Definitely a solid place to try if you're looking for some sushi to go.

I had the Saints roll which had salmon, eel(i think), crawfish, avocado and mango with sauces. The saltiness of the crawfish blended well with the sweetness of the mango. I also had the tuna avocado roll which was delicious and tasted super fresh. The water tasted a little funny to me and at first I thought it was me then rezlized it had like lemon juice drops in or er suttim. I was so thirsty that I sipped it anyway without complaint. There are about 6 tables and a bar. I sat at the bar so I could watch the chefs create. Based on the patron next to me who is a regular, it was more crowded than usual for a Friday night. I had my first roll in about 10 minutes and the Saints Roll shortly thereafter after they saw I was finished with the tuna avocado roll. Quite a few pick up orders which I think is typical for a weekend night. Based on the smells coming from the back kitchen, I might try the hibachi dishes next time. I'll definitely keep this place on the list for fresh basics like tuna avocado roll or salmon avocado roll, but it's not a "gotta have it every week" spot for me. read more

Went for dinner tonight. I ordered the Moon Star roll as a recommendation from the chef. The flavor and textures were great! Just what I was looking for! Only thing I think could use improvement is the wasabi, it was very tame for what I am used to. Otherwise, it was excellent! read more

This is my go to sushi restaurant!! The sushi chefs are so friendly! We order custom rolls. They will make anything on request. The hibachi is very seasoned and tasty. This is the cleanest restaurant I've ever been to. It is a more casual cafe atmosphere and the prices are very low. Low prices and a fresh meal, you can't beat it! read more

Today is my birthday, and I tried something different. I had the Chef roll 4 and it was delicious and beautifully presented. I prepared my soy sauce and wasabi paste and didn't use any of it. There is no need to do anything with it but to enjoy it. read more

We love this place. From the hibachi to the sushi, everything is fresh and flavored wonderfully. We have been multiple times in the last 4 months. They are quick no matter lunch or dinner. The sushi is my favorite but the hibachi chicken is a close second. I also recommend the Kani Cheese pockets to start. read more

Good food! My husband got the chicken donbury and I got some sushi. The donbury was hearty and flavorful with tender breaded chicken and egg in a savory brown sauce served over rice. The spicy white tuna roll had just a slight crunch to it and the sauce was perfect. They got the rice to filling ratio for sushi down, most places I go to around here have way to much rice and not enough filling. My only complaints are that the veggie roll could stand to have more than two types of vegetables in it (they went with just avocado and cucumber-not a very flavorful combo) and the salmon was cut way too thick on the two piece salmon sushi. read more

Hole in the wall, but great value and very good rolls! Fresh, and well presented. Only $9.95 for lunch special of 3 rolls (pretty nice list of rolls to choose from too..) and miso or salad. Nellie, our server, was very good and sweet. She did good job explaining menu. ** And big plus! they have a loyalty card, and for every 10 rolls, you get a free roll! So 2 lunch specials today: 6 punches toward my 10! Sweet deal. read more

Really good food. I just keep coming back for their yaki udon. It's one of the best I've had anywhere. I haven't tried their sushi yet since I'm really picky when it comes to sushi but they get 5 stars for the noodles and service! Glad they are only five min away from my house read more

This place is no where close to any type of fine dinning. It's like Wendy's of Japanese food. Let's move on to the food, for apps ordered tofu(small portion, not fresh at all) tuna tar tar ( kinda sweet, but still good) beef tataki (very low grade of beef mixed with tenden and fat ) hamachi kama( instead yellow tail collar, we got salmon, taste pretty good but don't put hamachi kama on the menu and serve something else). For entrees, mango roll (pretty good) beef medium rare( uneatable), dynamite roll over cooked to the max, cuts in my mouth just from 1 bite of it. I had a horrible experience, not going to back to this place for sure. read more

Came here on Christmas Eve when everything else was closed and not only was the restaurant empty, but the food and service exceeded my expectations! I had a salmon bento box, everything tasted so fresh and delicious! Way more food than other overpriced japanese restaurants I've been to....very highly recommend! Can't wait to go back! read more

Very quick and simple Japanese food. I had a salad and the Hibachi Steak with extra rice instead of vegetables, and they surely delivered! My entire plate was filled with rice! Although the steak was a little overcooked(i asked for it medium), the flavor of the steak was still great. For the price of the meal, the value is definitely unbeatable. I am picky when it comes to sushi, this place was not only really good but the service was also warm and friendly. It definitely beats the sushi from Sake Cafe in Kenner! The broth was so rich and flavorful and just perfect, not too salty and not too little. The noodles had such an amazing texture and bite that I just wanted more! I loved every single bite until the last one and the flavor never fell flat! I am definitely adding this to my places to have lunch when in town! I haven't reviewed many places as I feel that people have different levels of taste, value, and quality. I went here when they first opened about 1 1/2 years ago. Not great wait staff and now I understand the reasoning for that-they DO NOT GET TO KEEP THE TIPS. The owner and his brother/cousins keep the tips for themselves. So, that explains why the staff offers limited service to the dine-in customers. Just recently many friends have said they are no longer dining at this establishment! They were smart enough to check on the Dept of Health and Hospitals website for their yearly inspection of the cleanliness and an overall inspection. I was curious-so, I checked it out. May seem clean in the front of the place-but, after reading the violations that still exist--NO THANKS. I would rather pay twice the price with a clean kitchen! Think before you eat here. This is my favorite place. Price is fair, best food quality, and highly satisfied service. I bring my family here every week, and sometimes order take-outs. Every time we came here, they always provided us the most friendly service and the best Japanese food.
