Don't let Tokyo II's location fool you, this is one of my new favorite sushi spots. The decor is great, the wait staff is very attentive and friendly, but where this place really wins is the food. The fish is fresh, the menu has a ton of variety, and the presentation is second to none. Every time I eat here I look forward to the little piece of art you get on your plate. I've been to this place a few times and was totally impressed with the quality of food. So I told my friends to come here for lunch today and guess what. Me and my S.O. James go at least once a week! The sushi is as fresh as it gets and they always get it right! We usually get it to go as they are local for us but we have dined there on occasion. We were headed home from a business trip and stopped in North Haven for dinner and we are o so glad to have found this place. It usually takes a good amount of sushi to fill me up but we were suggested just to get three rolls. I had my reservations but I complied. We ordered the Tornado, Santa Fe and Spicy Girl. All phenomenal (Tornado being the best) and the two of us were completely full. The ratio of quality food to the amount paid favors the customer drastically. I highly recommend this place. read more

When I'm in the mood for a quick sushi dinner with a friend I always end up here. The waitstaff is always very friendly and the prices aren't bad. I recommend going for lunch since they have a good lunch special (2 special rolls for like $9), though I've had a three roll lunch special at other places. Their specialty rolls are great, I really enjoyed the Spicy Girl. As for the regular stuff, my all-time favorite spicy yellowtail is great here too. I am guessing this is probably the best in the area but by no means is this great sushi-acceptable if you're drinking Mai-Tai's is more like it. A little bit of an after taste, IMHO, not the freshest (YIKES) and their general's chicken was a bit soggy. Place doesn't look particularly clean either and looks a bit dated. Great place for the locals but not worth it for me and won't be back to this strip mall location eatery. read more

We had great fast service here. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to answer our questions and bring us food and drinks promptly. we even got a free little appetizer and dessert. The menu is a bit limited, but every time I have eaten here, it's all been good. The prices are decent, and they are more consistent than other Asian restaurants in the area. This little charming sushi place is located in a rundown shopping center, but there aren't many other choices around, so here I am. I have to give credit to the fact that it's very clean and charming inside. The waitress was pleasant and nice. However, my hand rolls were a little soggy and it fell apart often when I pick it up with my chopsticks. Now some of you might say that, "hey maybe your chopstick skills sucks!!" but being born a Chinese who picks up tons of little rice and stringy vegetables, I am very proud of my chopstick skills. thank you very much. So the hand rolls were little soggy, and lacks flavor, however my grilled squid turned out well. So I have to knock off the 2 stars for the rolls. read more

Was in the neighborhood shopping at DC Comics for a niece when I happened upon this place. I pretty much always get the same thing, tuna and salmon sashimi and a yellow tail sushi roll. What has me coming back again and again (from New Haven) is the freshness of the fish and the size of the hamachi (yellow tail) in the roll. Other places I won't name (SB) seem to use the excuse of a roll to tuck a little fish inside. Not here. Sam, the chef on duty at the four lunches I've enjoyed here so far, is proud of his restaurant and ingredients. His presentation is lovely and the wait staff is friendly and helpful. I met a colleague here for dinner recently. It was my first visit. When I entered I knew this was different. I felt welcomed. Restaurants don't often do this. Service was immediate. Without having to say anything it was implied, welcome, sit, let us take care of you. You're family here. We ordered. Two rolls for me and my friend the same. When our meal came out I looked at our food for a full forty five seconds. It was beautiful. The care with how this was presented was professional. Then I had my first bite. The flavor and texture of my food surpassed its presentation. I added a little soy to some pieces but no wasabi. It needed nothing else. The professionalism of this chef combined with great ingredients lead to fantastic food. I'll be back. read more
