I went to this place once, a few years ago, but it was such an awful experience I remember it vividly. I have been to Tokyo Joe's locations that do a decent job, but this place is abysmal. I ordered a tofu and veggies bowl, and even though the guy taking my order was looking me in the eye and seemingly taking the order, what I got was missing two of the vegetables I requested. I returned to the counter and asked for them to cook these up for me and bring them out separately, slowly listing the two veggies, so they could get it right. They brought me ONE of the veggies I ordered. I gave up at this point and attempted to eat the food, even though it looked less-than-appetising. The cook was obviously not qualified to do his job. The mushrooms had really long, woody stems still attached, dirt and all, and had touched a pan for about 10 seconds before being dumped on the soggy rice. They were mildly warm, and not cooked or chopped at all. Raw f**king mushrooms on my food. The other veggies were in a similar state, literally having touched a pan for a few seconds, before being served to me raw. I can cook, and I KNOW what this idiot did (or, rather, did not do) with my food. Needless to say, I did not eat the food. I have never returned to this place, and never will. read more

A very comfortable atmosphere for small groups. Clean, neat, well designed. Had weather been nice the outdoor seating would have been magnificent. Ramen noodle soup was fantastic. Was a little disappointed the sushi orders were backed up for like 20min. I couldn't order my sushi because I couldn't wait around for it. But overall great experience. read more

First off let me say I love this franchise just not this location. I've really tried to celebrate the fact that I could finally have a local Tokyo Joe's! However this place is DIRTY. Every time I've ordered from here (and I do mean every time) I have found hair in my food. Went for my first time with the family this past Saturday. I thought the food was just ok. Best tasting was the sushi but everything else was bland. Reason for the low score was two part. When ordering I noticed the guy preparing the food had gloves on and ate something from the line. Part that bothered me was he didn't switch his gloves when preparing my families food. Also saw him touching a broom handle with gloves on and didn't switch his gloves. Second part was I brought my young son to the bathroom and the toilet was filthy. You can tell a lot about a restaurant from its bathrooms. As a restaurant manager I might be hypersensitive to this kind of thing but it was gross. Will not return. read more

Terrible service, terrible food preparation, not happy at all. Sadly, I don't think anyone that works there gives a crap at all that I was not happy. Sad, as I've been a long time customer. Ordered 2 rolls last night with the BOGO Monday night special. Both were supposed to have cream cheese. Both rolls were missing the cream cheese on half of them, and the other half had such a small smidge of cream cheese, that it was non-existent. Worse was when I called, spoke to a manager, and was basically told that on Mondays, they don't really put much effort into the rolls. Wow....really???? If you are going to make crappy food, then please don't run the promo. I don't think putting in the listed ingredients is going to make or break you as a company. How embarrassing - take at least a little pride in your work. Waited for the manager to at least offer to make it right. Crickets..... I try to support local companies, but Tokyo Joe's made it quite clear that they don't give a crap about me as a customer, so I won't give a crap about them as a business. read more

Enjoyed our meal tonight, our food came out staggered because sushi bar was backed up but not a big deal for my family. The food was well prepared, especially the spring rolls which can sometimes be hit or miss. The gal who took our order was very friendly and even came around in a very timely manner to pick up our dirty dishes. Both were very good served with some wasabi and ginger. Both were about a total of $9-10. A quick lunch. Forgot to take photos. I'd go back to try there Poke bowl or Tuesday Poke Taco. We love us some Tokyo Joes, and so happy its in Longmont now (we used to have to drive to boulder or westminster). I'll break this review into two categories, because they are quite different here... Sushi and bowls. Sushi - if I was rating tokyo joes by their sushi alone, I'd probably give them a 3. There are certainly better sushi options in town. In addition Tokyo Joe's advertises that it's made to order, but many times we've seen them pre-making california rolls and often the sushi is cold, indicating pre-made and refrigerated... if I wanted pre-made, I'd stick with grocery store sushi... but occasionally you get a really good roll as well. For a while Tokyo Joes was selling a "Cali Tar Tar" roll, which I would rank as a 4.5/5, a very good roll with lots of good flavor, but for some reason it was taken off the menu. If you buy a california roll, you'll get a basic california roll. Some of the other rolls (Yo roll, one of my faves) are pretty decent though... When it comes to the bowls, this is what we like the most here. I'd give them a five based on the bowls. Featuring ingredients you pick which are (relatively) healthy, with a variety of sauce options, and taste quite good. My only minor issue is here is that they used to sell a "Orange Yuzu" sauce that I loved, and like the Cali Tartar roll, they took it off the menu. I generally take the mojo sauce, which actually isn't listed on the sauce list but comes as a separate bowl and generally they dont mind making the switch. Overall, food is good, you feel good about eating it, and has a cool environment. I wish they could improve the sushi, but I'll still give them 5 stars... :) read more

Went here tonight for a quick Asian fix. While I typically enjoy Tokyo Joe's in Westminster for lunch I've become disenchanted at this Longmont location. The food was not well prepared, with the brown rice overcooked and clumped together, steamed veggies undercooked/cold. I asked for a side of their normally yummy garlic chili paste and was served a small container that was so old it was almost brown in color and had dried crust around the edges. When we sat down at our first table the table was dirty with dried crust on it. I sure hope Larry@tokyojoes.com can get this place turned around soon. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a Tokeyo Joe's! And probably the worst semi-sit-down food I have ever had! I think they attempted to steal my credit card number by telling me their "computer is down" and writing the card number down... so I had them use a different card before they finished and explained to them my concerns.... kind of weird but all of a sudden the system worked and they processed my order just after taking my new card number down. She seemed to of tore the paper up but I guess we'll see... on top off all that our food order was wrong and so was the order behind us as well as in front of us. They took so long to fix it, we had lost interest. The food was not that good to top it all off! Steer clear of this shit hole! read more

First time I came here I ordered a large salad. I was greatly disappointed by the lack of ingredients and the dressing. My husband had the Ramen and loved it so we gave it another go. This time I ordered the cucumber salad and the gyoza, cucumber salad is delicious with rice vinegar and the gyoza was a bit over cooked. My husbands Ramen was also claimed to be delicious the second time as well. read more

For starters I love Tokyo joes, but this location is absolutely terrible. I have given it all too many chances and every time I am greeted with the worst customer service. My first visit should have steered me clear to another location as I had ordered take out and on arrival they told me that someone must have taken my order or that they just lost it and that I would have to wait another 30 minutes.. 40 minutes passed and still no food so I asked how much longer it might be and was given an I don't know you'll just have to wait answer, at that point I just asked for my refund because it makes no sense to wait close to two hours for my food from the time I ordered it. Every time after I have only ever seemed to get attitude from each and every worker there and have seen the attitude towards other customers as well. I imagine it all comes down to a management issue to this location as I have tried talking to managers and have never once been given a call back or an apology. My last straw was during a weekend they were doing a bogo deal which is not a new thing for tokyo joes as I have utilized this deal on more than one occasion at multiple locations all over the state. Again I ordered online as it's a 30 minute drive for me already I was given a 35 minute time frame and I showed up even later just incase they were behind and again was greeted poorly and no order to be seen. Was told that it would be awhile till my order could be fulfilled and no real time frame. I asked them if they are calling people to let them know that they are so behind as at this point I had ordered for takeout over an hour ago and they weren't close to even making my order once again asked for a refund and left with no food ruining yet another dinner. Not once did any of the employees show a smidge of customer service, but like I said this is solely this tokyo joes (krn Pratt, longmont. Yeah it was OK. I was impressed at how health conscious the place seemed to be. I wasn't thrilled with the Teriyaki bowl that I got as it was lacking sauce. Never having been before, had no expectations. Ordered White Chicken, Udon Noddles and combined vegetables bowl with spicy-aki sauce. Plenty to eat, good flavor. My only complaint was that noodles needed to be drained a little better. Service was polite and fast. read more

Several weeks ago I posted an unfavorable review regarding my first experience with the Longmont, CO Tokyo Joe's. After posting the review I was contacted by the owner, Jon, and he stated that he was going to talk to his staff to ensure that changes would be made. My initial complaints were the lack of vegetables in my bowl as well as the excessive time it took for my order to be ready. Larry was true to his word and on my next visit the food was prepared in a timely manner and the portions were very favorable. The staff had no way to know that I was a customer that had been dissatisfied so it seems that changes across the board have been initiated. It is apparent that the restaurant cares about their customer feedback and that if there is a problem they will do their best to ensure subsequent visits have satisfactory standards. read more

Never been in a Tokyo Joe's, so I don't know what is typical. I know we weren't given the 2 for 1 Monday deal, despite it being advertised on every table. However, the cashier refused to give us our receipt so we figured it wasn't worth arguing over. Sushi rolls weren't even grocery store quality. Go to the Firestone KS and they'll give you a better wrapped roll. Noodles were cooked correctly, but the chicken was boiled and tasteless. Veggies seemed pretty freash. Would probably have given them a 3 star if I had not tried the rolls or had to deal with the cashier. read more

Just had the best customer service. The gentlemen that brought our food to the table did not hesitate to bring me a new order because I forgot to tell the cashier that I have a peanut allergy. Also witnessed him stop customers from leaving the restaurant with a mixed up order and corrected the mistake right away. We all make mistakes but for him to catch it and correct it without hesitation was wonderful to see. He saved 2 customers orders so they did not have to come back. The menu is improving since we were last there. Much better options too. For some reason they could not get our sushi order correct and took the plates back to redo them then we only got half the order and had to wait yet again. I've never had anyone take the entire plate back when half the order is correct. Normally you would leave it and bring the missing items later. read more

Really delicious noodle bowls and sushi! they quick service and all the employees seem very pleasant. The atmosphere is very modern with a slightly upscale feel to it, although it is a little loud if dining in. They offer a punch card like system for free entrees which is a nice way to get a little extra outa eating there. They also run buy one get one sushi deals as well! highly recommend read more

Food was just ok. The vegetables were not cooked all the way. There were flies everywhere inside. They were coming in and out of the iced tea and soda spouts. There was not a spot in the place without a fly being around the food. I have been to tons of other Tokyo Joes and this by far was the worst. The service was mediocre at best and when notified about the fly problem they seemed to shrug it off. I recommend a health inspection before anyone goes here! read more

The food was good. The variety of teas was very nice. The store ran out of all but 2 of 6 or 7 varieties by 8:15. No one even considered making more. We sat out side. There were mice running between the door and the edge of the patio the entire time we were there. It was very disconcerting. Very poor experience overall. I do not recommend it. read more

We ordered food to take out from here. The amount of food in each entree was insufficient, and there was absolutely no flavor in the soup that I ordered. We are certain that for the amount of money we spent at Tokyo Joe's we could have gotten much more food with far better flavor from Whole Foods, which is a sad testament to Tokyo Joe's. I've visited multiple TJ locations across Colorado, and was excited when I moved to Longmont to find one was here, too. However, after 3 separate visits, 2 of which ended in me getting sick, I won't go to this location again. I was once even served rotten crab in my Rangoon sushi. The staff is very very nice, but being nice doesn't pay my medical bills. I drive the 15 minutes to Boulder, and suggest you do too. read more
