After reading the reviews I walked into this place super skeptical since it was my first time here. However, the service given to us by the chef and waitress was 5/5! The food was really good and the chef (Joel) put on a great show. It's pricey but my slap of steak was hearty and cooked perfectly how I asked. Prices range from $16 single portions to $30 combos which offers more food, so you get what you're willing to pay for. I checked out the bathrooms because someone reviews them as "disgusting" but I saw nothing that was out of the ordinary for a public restroom. Overall, it was a great date night! read more

I have been going to Palmdale Tokyo Steak for over 25+ years and never had an issue and it's 'there' where the customer gets treated like gold. BUT ONLY THERE. My first experience here in Lancaster leaves a lot to be desired. The server Jonathan was great (exceeded my greatest expectations), and the chef gave the usual performance as to be expected. However - when you have management step in (Linda) because you have a request you are used to from Palmdale when dealing with your fried rice/ steamed rice there shouldn't be any differences on how the establishments performs and because of that reason I can only give 1. Again the food, server and presentation all up to par- if only managements learns how to treat their customers... If you want to be treated and pampered like a 5 restaurant head to Palmdale or settle with the mediocrity of Lancaster management. read more

Tonight was the busiest we have seen Tokyo! And we are so frequent, our waiter KNOWS how we like our food cooked (Mauricio). We had a different cook (juan) and it was JUST AS GOOD! there was a negative review left, they were a party at our table who walked up and left upset at the fact that it took a bit of time (max 15 min) to be waited on. Tokyo had about 100 guests, to fit on all of their tables. That is not something to be upset about as you can easily leave. The prices have never changed and the plates are still the same. We love this restaurant and you will be taken care of if you ever have any issue! read more

Having birthday dinner for my daughter. We ate at 5:30 and I have to tell you the food and the entertainment was wonderful. I checked up on the reviews before making the reservations and I can't see where all the negatives that some people posted. We experienced none of that. Love this place. Been going there for over 10 years. The food is good, great lunch specials, half the price, for many of the same items, on the dinner menu. Tried the Sushi on our last visit this last week, had Lobster rolls and hot tuna rolls, and have to say they were good, but not great. They were falling apart on their plate, like they used the wrong rice, or did not ferment it properly, with vinegar, to make it sticky. The show and fire helped because, it was freezing in there. We had a great time, it was happy hour, so our group managed to down four pitchers of Sapporo. So it was a fun night. I also had the steak and shrimp, it was great as usual. If you stop in for lunch, I highly recommend the yakisoba noodles with chicken, beef, or shrimp. Don't forget to add fried rice if you want to see a volcano. The place is old and dated, front entry could use a makeover. It is like the old, Benihana of the AV. Love that they cook at your table, show never gets old, but the restaurant could use an update. Who knows maybe the old, never changing, is part of it's charm. The interior is like a time capsule, that has not changed much over the years. More on the high priced side, for the AV, cost me around $160, for our party of five for dinner, and drinks. We generally go for lunch, lower prices and no wait. I have gone on Valentines day, for dinner, and this place is packed. Folks all dressed up, many fun times there. Great place to take a date, you want to impress. Just don't forget your wallet, or you will be washing dishes all week, to pay for your meal. read more

So we ate lunch at Tokyo steak on Sunday. We hadn't been there in awhile. Prices went up by $3 per entree (which includes fried rice increase). Now this wouldn't have been so bad if the food was good. I ordered a fillet. The piece of meat that was brought out was not a fillet. It was not shaped like a fillet and it was tough and chewy. Unfortunately I have to give a bad review for last nights service. The food, as always, is amazing. However the service we experienced from staff felt rushed and was very upsetting. They were busy for the NYE holiday but still, they need to pay attention to the customers they are serving rather than trying to get more heads seated and more money in their pockets. We, just as everyone else had a right to sit down and have a nice evening dinner-we even made reservations. For a party of 8 we weren't there for more than an hour before they started to bus our half full drinks right off the table and wiping down the table tops right in front of us. As our friend was placing his newborn into her car seat, they were literally right behind him cleaning off the tables and chairs as if they couldn't wait another moment for him to finish. I understand that it was a busy night, but still all customers should be treated equally and not just as a price per head. read more

The autmosphere in this place is extraordinary. This is a great place to go out to lunch or dinner with friends. Although they have a split schedule lunch being from 12pm-2pm and closes its doors until dinner which is from 5pm-9pm its well worth it. I highly recommend the steak and shrimp its delicious. You have a Chef performer who not only cooks for you in front of your eyes but does certain tricks to keep the energy fun and entertaining. There are 2 locations Lancaster and Palmdale, CA if you are in any of these two cities i recommend this restaurant, full bar and lots of fun. read more

If I could give it a ZERO I would.. the food was so over salted you could not eat it. The noodles were not cooked all the way and the seafood was way over cooked!!! The service was very slow and you almost had to beg for more water....The couple that sat down at the table next to us were still waiting almost an hour to be served. The old lady running the place told them to either move to another table with some family they did not know or just wait until they can get another chef....they were told after watching TWO other tables get served even after they had been there first...that the other tables were BIGGER parties and they still have to wait....our total bill came to $185. and it was the worst food we have ever tried to eat. Went here for a friends 21st bday and the food was okay but the sushi smelled and was horrible as well as the service. The Cambodian hostess in the front gave our reservation away because we had one less person than we said and was completely rude and treated us like children, our chef didn't talk to us, but the Hispanic server we had was awesome. If we didn't like our server we would've walked out. Definitely not coming back and will not refer anyone, but to the server keep up your great work. read more

Consider other choices such as Palmdale location or even better Kisho in Valencia (worth the drive). At the Lancaster location, we attended a birthday party and the tempature in the resturant was no less than 95 degrees. It was cooler outside at 92. We continued to complain, with no result. Many of the party had sweat literally dripping off of us. It was a horrible experience. They kept saying it was hot because of the tables but at the Palmdale location, I am usually cold. To top it off, they so kindly added the tip into our check. I did not intend in leaving a tip at all.....I left there feeling sick to my stomach from the heat! I will NEVER return there! read more

Fun way to spend an evening:) I really like their yaki soba, or chow mein. Their fried rice used to be better, but I think they started cutting back on how much butter they put in it (which used to be A LOT - maybe the health people got after them, lol). They make a great Mai Tai, along with a small selection of other drinks; I've never been disappointed but I've only had a few of them. There's one particular chef (or whatever they prefer to be called) who is a lot of fun, very humorous (and not just the cheesy jokes that they all use every single time through the routine). What bothered me most was the cleanliness of the facilities. Had I not been there with friends that like the place I would have left. There was a quarter inch of black gook all around the grill. I looked at the other grills and they were the same. The hood over the grill was dripping with grease. Cleanliness is not a concern with this place; at one point the cook flipped some food onto the counter next to me and simply scrapped back onto the grill. The service was okay and the prices were reasonable if the food had been good. Food quality was mediocre, they make up for lesser quality meats and over cooking by adding huge amounts of butter to everything. Overall, not a lot of flavor. The chili sauce was so diluted, you could have drank it from a water glass. I have never written a review, I like to think that maybe I just went at a bad time.. I always give the restaurant the benefit of doubt. But with this restaurant, I don't think it would be different at any other time. read more
