The end of a #9 roll

First time here for all you can eat sushi. Extensive menu and there literally is something for everyone. I started with the avocado salad and gyoza dumplings. Avocados were perfectly ripe and the dumplings were so tasty. The sushi pizza was crispy on the outside and tender and tasty on the inside. All of the food I ordered was made fresh and delish. Staff is super nice. It's a bit noisy but the quality of food cancels the noise out. Def recommend this place!

Whenever I am celebrating, or honestly, just in the mood for sushi, Tokyo Sushi is my go to. The selections are immaculate and the service is always top notch. My favorite go to is the BMW roll, but it's not just the sushi that keeps me coming back. The tempura selections are delicious and the teriyaki Salmon is always cooked to perfection. It doesn't matter if there are 2 tables or 20, the service is always fast and the wait staff is super helpful with recommendations and pass zero judgement when I order an 8th roll. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality AND the quantity.

Good - 4 stars! Tokyo Sushi, Maplewood...the latest stop in my on-going mission to eat at every sushi joint in the Twin Cities! My first and general impression...the Maplewood location is miles better than the Brooklyn Park location. It's like night & day. I was very impressed. Tokyo Sushi is a small local chain. They aren't a snobby Chef Ramsey type of place. But for what they are, they do an excellent job. DECOR & GENERAL: Tokyo is a big place. The ambiance is pretty decent. It isn't a fancy place. The first thing I noticed was that they were PACKED with customers! I stopped by on a late afternoon and people were waiting for tables. Busy, busy, busy. That's a good sign. People obviously like Tokyo Sushi. CUSTOMER SERVICE: As expected, the customer service was impeccable, friendly and efficient. My sushi rolls came out freaky fast. They actually came out about 1 minute after my onion soup. That's a personal record for me. Impressive! FOOD: I went with some onion soup and my usual tuna based sushi rolls. I ordered off the regular menu instead of the all-you-can-eat menu. My server seemed surprised by this. She said the selections are the same but the rolls would be larger from the regular menu. So that's what I did. She wasn't kidding. The rolls were noticeably bigger, they came out with lightning speed, and the flavors were wonderful. Awesome! MANAGEMENT: It's obvious that the management knows what they're doing. This place is run with military type efficiency. While eating my sushi, I watched in amazement while a small army of staff were sprinting around doing their jobs. It was amazing. I haven't seen anything like it. I also had a wonderful conversation with the manager. He was very, very friendly and he took a fair amount of time chatting with me. He also helped me with my pitiful Mandarin. Nice guy. Thumbs up! I'd go back again any time. -Maxx

I've eaten at this place a couple of times and have been pleased. Their lunch price is $17.95 like their Brooklyn Park location. Service and food are both good.

Visiting from out of town and found this place on Yelp! We did the all you can eat sushi for $18. The avocado salad and miso soup was a great starter. My favorite sushi was the sushi pizza. It was rolled and deep fried to perfection. I couldn't get enough of the crunch and sauce. The mango avocado roll and out of control roll were my favorite. We also finished with mango ice cream. This place is my new go to place when visiting

Ordered Service via Door Dash. Had the Seafood Teppanyaki (consisted of baby scallops and popcorn shrimp ) with Fried Rice. Great flavor, good amount of seafood and rice for the price as well. Excited to try more entrees from Tokyo Sushi.

I arrived around noon with no reservation. The host did inform me while walking to my seat that a reservation is required next time. This restaurant appeared to be very clean; the staff was wearing masks and face shields. They did not have disposable menus. The food was delicious and fresh. I love dining where you can choose different plates (all you can eat) and how's it cooked fresh and served to you. This process also helps eliminates wastage because if there is excessive wastage, a 15% charge is added to your bill.

A whole lot of Sushi, Crab Tempura, Onion Soup.

Their food is absolutely divine! Their all you can eat option is even better! We got engaged there in 2016!

Reservation is required, probably due to COVID. My boyfriend and I came here for the all you can eat lunch menu. He is a hard critic to please but he was impressed. He's from San Diego and I will agree with him, the food is hard to beat there. He said if he had known about this place earlier he would have came here every month. I enjoyed the food as well, plenty of vegetarian options for myself which I appreciated. Although a big critique I have is that I came here disabled after having bunion/osgood schlatters surgery. With that being said the only handicap accommodation is the handicap stall, nothing else. Beware, if you need accommodations do not come here to eat unless you'll have help, I needed it as the doors are heavy.

We did the edamame, the dumplings, the chicken skewer and the shrimp rolls. All were really delish. Our wait staff was great and everyone stopped by to check on us. All of the rolls we ordered were so fresh and every one was amazing. It is a nice interior with soft music and cozy booths/tables. From the outside the Sakura doesn't look that big but once inside you see it is spacious! I was taken a back on the amount of space they had being a sushi restaurant. I happened to go in between the lunch and dinner rush so I was the only patron in there at the time. The waitress was a nice lady and had some good giggles with her as we chatted a bit. She showed me the upstairs balcony sitting area and I loved how much room there was upstairs. I told her I might have to rent it out for my birthday. The sushi I had was good with fresh quality and expert sushi makers. The menu was fairly extensive. Would recommend in downtown St Paul.

There wasn't as much as what you would get from other restaurants. However, I gave that a pass since it really matters how good the dish tastes that justifies the price. I would have to say I'm disappointed. The calamari was gooey. There was NO crunch to it at all. I would not recommend getting it. The steamed dumplings doesn't have much flavor to it and it didn't come out warm. The pho broth tastes good. There was a good portion of meat in the soup. I'd say the pho was the only good thing we had. Would I go back? I would go back but I would probably order something else.

Sat at the sushi bar and ordered Omakase (chef's choice; I spent $40 but you choose whatever you want to spend). Very nice presentation, excellent quality fish, thoughtful combinations, and actual ground wasabi root. I've read a lot of complaints about service here, and tbf the wait staff didn't seem on their game, but sitting at the bar makes that a non-factor. The chef/owner chatted with us throughout the meal, talking about the fish, the flavor combinations, the business (he was at Origami), etc. Excellent meal and a good value if you appreciate sushi; can't speak to anything else on the menu, nor do I see a need to. (I was impressed by the lightness of the batter on the tempura.) Will definitely go back, which is something I don't say very often.

I tried Bambu Kitchen & Sushi Restaurant in Oakdale for the first time tonight via delivery, and as…read moresomeone who loves both sushi and Thai food, I was excited to give it a shot. The sushi genuinely impressed me. It was affordable, flavorful, and the fish tasted fresh. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and really appreciated that the tuna wasn't ground into mush - these were solid, thick cuts of fish with just the right amount of heat. My only minor critique is that the roll could've been wrapped a bit tighter to keep the end pieces from falling apart, but honestly, it didn't take away from how delicious it was. I would happily order it again (and again). The Drunken Mussels were also a hit. The portion size was generous and the sauce was salty in a satisfying way--overall, a great dish. I ordered the Spicy & Sweet Blast Curry (mild), but unlike other Thai spots where mild still brings the heat, this one had zero spice and ended up feeling a bit flat. It wasn't bad; just not very flavorful or authentic-tasting to me. Next time, I'd skip the curry or at least order it hotter, because I think more spice could make a big difference. Overall, I was very happy with my order and will definitely be ordering from Bambu again. Especially for the sushi.
