I have gotten take out here too and food is great their yakisoba udon was a great portion with lots of beef. I liked their bento box tempura with sushi sampler because it had a little bit of everything. This review is long overdue so here goes. To the owner/proprietor, thanks for the great service. I believe you have been there several times and hopefully, will continue to be there. My wife never wanted to step foot in a sushi bar/restaurant. She never did, thankfully now to a lesser extent, like the idea of raw fish. Some time back she said "OK let's go grab sushi". She orders anything baked, along with CA rolls, seaweed salad and tempura which are all very Tokyo Sushi tasty. We've tried quite a few other establishments when she first became interested but Tokyo Sushi is our only go to. Sucks when you're closed and she's craving sushi. Your place is always clean, and the quality is consistent. Lately, the salmon sashimi has been getting more of her attention. She says it looks "pretty" and I tell her it is silky buttery. Because my wife worked as server yrs ago, she is aware of the customer service we receive at restaurants. Now, if you hired Ann and Biri, excellent job to you Ms. Tokyo Sushi owner. One or both of them are typically there when we go in especially after 3pm Fridays when my wife is done with her work week. They always make us feel welcomed at your restaurant. Had a dinner with family tonight. Food is good in my mind and price is right. Ordered two bentos and 2 CA rolls. The waiter was attentive and checked on things. The only bad experience is the young waitress who handed me the check. I signaled her to give me the check but she left it at the end of the table so I needed to get up to get it. I checked with my family members they saw it and thought it was weird and rude. I went here misguided by all the yelp reviews claiming this is the best sushi in SCV. It's not. I order a spicy tuna roll and their yakisoba. The sushi rice was hard and the tuna smelled. The yakisoba lacked flavored. For both these items I was charged $20.95 which is overpriced in my opinion. Not worth the price. read more

It's an ok sushi spot, not that there is anything wrong with the food or service per say. As I stated, it's just ok. There wasn't anything special about the food, and if you consider the price which is more expensive than I would have expected, I would hope the food was a little fresher and the sushi flavors a little more well put together. What do Inmean by that? I preferred nigir in a few different forms and it just came out with little to no dress. Tokyo Sushi is located in a shopping center in Santa Clarita, with plenty of free parking. We stopped by for dinner based on the good reviews on Yelp. The restaurant is new and nicely decorated. Service was about average; efficient but not very personal or attentive. We were not impressed at all with the quality of the fish and the overall taste of the food. Most fish seemed stale. The chef also made quite a few errors with our orders; searing the Albacore sushi without having been asked to do so, omitting the Uni from the Egg Bowl and adding Salmon instead (?), and confusing our order of Salmon Egg sushi with Salmon sushi. All were rectified but only after we mentioned them. The sashimi cuts were also too thick, which combined with the low quality of fish did not render a pleasant experience. Pricing was on the higher side and definitely a mismatch with the quality of the food. We hope that Tokyo Sushi is able to improve their food quality and service over time. As it currently stands, it will not be on our preferred dining list. read more

We found this little place while making a u-turn in the shopping center and saw a bunch of takeout signs. Thankfully we tried it! Definitely great quality fish and it's not all that expensive. Finding good sushi up here is either hit or miss. But this one has been consistently really good. The sushi combo with the roll is my go-to here, and even better with the 15% off right now with takeout. We took issue with the undersized proportions of the sushi and did not get a satisfactory response after telling the waiter. The waiter gave us a complimentary 10% off yelp discount, which we were already going to use already. :-/ Dear restraunt owner, you should take note that when people begin to complain about the proportions it's not a joke and does not mean that they are just complaining. Take notice that i have eaten at hundreds of sushi restaurants and this place is 1 of the 2 smallest proportion sushi restraunts I have ever been too. If i would have recieved a better response, to being called out for the size of their sushi this would be a 5 star review. It was your choice and you chose to respond lightly. Unfortunately this sushi restaurant is getting too comfortable and serving bare minimum size sushi rolls. As in borderline rediculous proportions for the price. Came here for our Valentine's dinner on Monday night. We were so pleased! The restaurant is clean, nice music, pleasant servers, and DELICIOUS food!! Our favorite was the Red Dragon rolls. OMG!! These rolls were so tasty and fresh! I highly recommend them! The California hand roll was very good, too. I enjoyed the Alaska roll as well. Finding decent sushi in scv is hard, but this place really surprised me! I love the two story lay out of the restaurant and they have a large sushi roll menu so you never get bored with the options. My friends and I ordered many different rolls and each one didn't disappoint. The quality of the fish tastes very fresh. The names are also pretty interesting, and you can tell they aren't afraid to try new combinations. The garlic edamame is also amazing. If you're on a slight budget and don't want to spend too much, or eat too much and feel gross after, they have options to order a half roll!! Which I thought was super convenient. We have been going there for quite sometime. The food is excellent. Service is good. When the stay at home order was lifted, restaurants could serve outdoor, we went there again. Even though the service was outdoor, but their setting is so... nice, with covered white tent, heaters, lighting to make the dinning was so pleasant. Service was great the first time, the owner lady really took good care of us and so as today, all the staff members are on it. It definitely got busier which was expected since the food taste and quality is so good :) Their freshness is the main reason why I come here and so many different options that are delicious! It's got a nice, clean, kinda upscale like atmosphere. My son sits in the highchair for long here as well which is a BIG plus for us. This place totally hits the sushi spot. It's really hard to find a good sushi spot here in the SCV. I've tried almost all the sushi places around here and by far, this place gets it. Service- Service is awesome here at Tokyo Sushi. The first time i visited this place i decided to sit at the bar. There, is where i met Tim. The sushi chief, i think he owns the place too. Anyway, Tim was super nice, super friendly, and most importably very approachable. All in which are very important when one is sitting at the bar. He was so kind to offer suggestions of the different sushi that they had. The wait staff are all super nice and very attentive. I did not have to ask for refills for my water and for my hot tea. Food- Since I sat at the sushi bar, i of course ordered Nigiri (2 piece sushi). These are a few items i ordered. 1. Sashimi Combo #2- this Sashimi combo was so gOoOod. The pieces were nice and thick. Not like other places where its super tiny and thin. It was a good size. Worth ever penny. 2. Japanese Scallop- This is my favorite sushi. There is something about it that i just love and adore. In every sushi place that i have gone to, this order always has a different interpretation. I loved how Tokyo Sushi prepared the Japanese Scallop. Not overly dressed with extra stuff yet enough to enhance the flavor of the scallop. 3. Toro- I am not much of a Toro fan but this was nice and clean tasting. I was afraid that it was going to be fishy bc Tim described it as "fatty". OMG, the Toro literally melted in my mouth. So buttery and rich. A must try. 4. Live Shrimp- Im sorry that i forgot the official name of this piece of sushi but again, it was delish. The best thing about this sushi is that it is prepared 2 ways. First, The body of the shrimp is served as a piece of sushi and second the head of the shrimp is either deep fried or made into a soup. your choice, I chose the deep fried shrimp head which was served with a dipping sauce.... Excellent! 5. Yellowtail- So fresh and so clean! Cant go wrong with this choice. 6. Yellowtail with yuzo and jalapeño- Another variation to the above yellowtail sushi. Prepared with yes and a jalapeño. A perfect pairing. 7. Crab Handroll- OMG!! i was so surprise bc i thought they were just going to use imitation crab.. like other places.. but no... they used really REAL snow crab.. for those who know their sushi.. you know what I'm talking about. Parking- There is a lot of parking available. Tokyo Sushi is located in the plaza where HomeGoods is and is Located right next to Peet's Coffee. I haven't tried any of their rolls yet. This restaurant use to be Kyoto but is now under new ownership. The owner is the same owner as Shogun. Like Shogun they have really good sushi here and some lunch specials also. Their miso soup is really good also. They don't have all-you-can-eat anymore which is a downside to some others. But I don't mind that they don't have that. Their location is not easy to see from the rest of the parking lot, so that may be why it's not crowded. The sushi rolls were good; the chicken katsu was fine; the tonkatsu ramen was tasty. Because of this time of year they were playing holiday music, which was nice and had a beautiful Christmas tree decorated. They had Sunday football on the TVs, which we appreciated.
