The best Sunday brunch in San Diego!! They have a wonderful variety of seafood to enjoy, an omelette station, sweets and savory meats. Absolutely worth every penny!

Great service! We left with full bellies and enjoyed our time here. We were celebrating my grandmother in law's 86th birthday. It's great spot for gathering but it's more of an open air atmosphere. We visited mid heat wave and sat inside and were sweating during our whole dinner. The table behind us was also complaining about the a/c not being strong enough (the doors to the patio were open so I'm sure that had something to do with it). The table behind us was also very loud. This place is great for celebrations after all. It is, however, beautiful spot and the food was delicious. Our party enjoyed the calamari, beef tenderloin tips, paella, and whole fried fish. The whole fish was red snapper and so fresh and tasty. I grew up eating the whole fish so this was definitely my favorite on the menu.

The view of this restaurant is amazing! It's very hard to beat the San Diego sunset and ocean. I also like that they have plenty of parking as well. The reason why I docked some stars is because I thought their food was just ok. The staff here are great though.

Came here for the brunch buffet. This place has a beautiful ambiance and view. The staff is very nice and our server was attentive. They have a huge seafood option as well as hot dishes, carving station, and breakfast classics. My favorite was the crab legs and shrimp. Definitely come hungry and save room for dessert. Great experience overall!

So, my former supervisor came to San Diego to take me to lunch. She resides in LA. I decided we would have lunch at this venue. Even though this venue is 35 miles from Oceanside... I can honestly say the drive south was truly worth the time it took to get there. I wanted to share one of San Diego's finer restaurants with her. This venue is located on Harbor Island, facing San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge. It includes a patio deck loaded with tables and umbrellas for your dinning pleasure while viewing Sailboats, Harbor-Cruise-ships, a view of North Island Naval Supply Center and the San Diego City-skyline on the clear days of summer. This venue offers a delicious Seafood and Americana menue and excellent Staff-Service. In my opinion this venue is Highly Recommended. (Note-Reservations are required and attire should always be "business-Casual).

We had such a wonderful anniversary dinner at Tom Ham's Lighthouse! The food was absolutely delicious, the views were beautiful, and the atmosphere made the evening feel extra special. Our server, Alicia, was truly amazing. She was so kind, attentive, and welcoming, and she went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner feel special. Her service really made the night memorable! Between the incredible food, gorgeous views, and fantastic service, we couldn't have asked for a better evening. We absolutely recommend Tom Ham's Lighthouse and will definitely be back!

Delicious spot with a wonderful view. Lots of chatters inside, with the bottom floor reserved for private rooms and reserved groups/parties. Super lively and adds to the amazing experience of this spot. There's a staircase to walk up on to dine-in and plenty of seats to sit down at while waiting. If you can't take the stairs, there's also an elevator on the side. I love the amazing views and the vibes of this spot. Located away from other buildings off to the side, you get a nice calm while eating at the balcony tables. Definitely have a jacket just incase it's too windy or cold for your liking. There's food is amazing and the chefs really bring out their best in each plate. Expect some wait time for your food, but just know it'll be worth it and it's a wonderful spot to relax, talk, or celebrate something special

My mom and niece took me to this restaurant. The said it had a beautiful view and the food was really good. They weren't lying. The view was amazing. It was a nice chill atmosphere. Very relaxing. We sat outside and just watched the people with boats going by. The food was good. The serving size are pretty big! I got the lobster bisque and the fish and chips. Both were good! I also got the calamari the dipping sauce was so good! My daughter got the burger and my niece got the salmon burger. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely come back. I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.

Had such a great experience here! We made a reservation the night prior for 815 pm outdoors (they have heat lamps). Although we didn't quite make it for sunset, it was still a beautiful skyline view of SD. We started with the Chicken Lollipops and Roasted Corn and Asparagus Salad. I'm not a sauce person and at first, I was nervous it would be too much on the chicken, but it was perfect! Crunchy perfection and still hot. The salad was very refreshing and loved the small mozzarella balls in it. For entrees, we got the Beef Braised Short Ribs and Cioppino. Both were great sized portions! The short ribs were so tender, perfectly cooked and the truffle mash potatoes were divine! My husband loved the cioppino, delicious flavors, good amount of seafood. Easy and free parking, beautiful and huge restaurant! A lovely date night spot!

Came here as part of the anniversary event and had the most fun time. They set up a few stations; each station offering 2 small plates paired with 2 different beers. All the food were delicious! They sounded like simple "bar" food, like oysters or stuffed jalapeno but they added little details that really elevated them to the next level (like topping the oyster with quail egg). We enjoyed our food and drinks at the patio while enjoying the sunset and the beautiful scenery by the water. This is a great place to have a relaxing drinks and dinner!

Made a dinner reservation for 5PM. Waited a minute to get a table. We were given a corner with a great view! Linguine and Clams - fresh clams with delicious sauce but I wish it could have been thicker and linguine is more al dente. Had to request for extra parmesan cheese. Paella - perfectly cooked saffron rice, fresh seafoods and generous chicken and chorizo. Calamari with honey chili lime sauce - crispy outside and soft calamari with delicious sauce. Soup of the Day/ Lobster bisque - smooth, creamy, and well seasoned soup. Glad there's not too much wine added. Some restaurants, wine overpowers the soup. Outstanding customer service from front desk to our servers. We were given a great table overlooking San Diego Bay. Thanks for the free brownies with ice cream. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely lunch with the family to celebrate my son's graduation from high school. We arrived on time after the graduation and were seated right away with a table with the view of the bay. Our waitress Sarah was exceptional. She made sure we were taken care of and even gave my son a complimentary dessert. We had delicious appetizers and the lunch menu had the perfect selections. We got the hamburger, fish & chips, turkey sandwich, lobster rolls and Bbq sandwich. Everything was so yummy and everyone enjoyed the lunch. Everyone at the restaurant were so friendly and we had an amazing experience celebrating my son's graduation.

One of the biggest highlights for us was the lobster, which is available on Thursdays only. They also had chilled snow crab legs and cold lobster claws, which was a nice surprise and definitely made the buffet feel like a great value for the price. Aside from the seafood, they had a huge selection of the usual buffet favorites, including sushi, shrimp, different hot dishes, sides, desserts, and so many other choices that it would be impossible to list everything. There was definitely something for everyone, and we had no problem finding plenty of things we enjoyed. The food selection was good, there were plenty of seafood options, and we felt like we definitely got our money's worth. If you're a seafood lover, I would recommend checking them out on a Thursday so you can take advantage of the lobster. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. For the price, variety, and amount of seafood offered, we would definitely come back and eat here again!

Roast duck was overcooked with a bad acrid smell, and it didn't have that oily crispy layer that you normally would get when it is fresh. I'm guessing that they made all the food early in preparation for opening, but all of food tasted like it sat out for hours. The things that turned out fine, were the oysters, sushi and sashimi, and the prime rib that turned out to be rare.

We were celebrating my mother's birthday and arrived around 2:29 PM. The restaurant was busy with many senior customers, the buffet offered a wide variety of food, and it seemed like it would be a wonderful afternoon. Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn. While we were eating, a manager or owner approached our table and, in a loud voice, accused my elderly mother of serving herself lemonade from the beverage machine without paying. My mother calmly explained that she had only filled her cup with water and squeezed fresh lemon slices into it. Instead of quietly resolving the misunderstanding, the manager brought over cups containing lemonade and continued insisting that my mother had taken lemonade from the machine. This created an embarrassing scene in front of our entire table and nearby guests. I respectfully asked if we could step aside and discuss the matter privately, explaining that we were not trying to take anything without paying. I also mentioned that my parents are longtime customers and that this was my first visit. Unfortunately, the conversation remained confrontational, and I left feeling that the situation could have been handled with much more professionalism and compassion. The experience was especially difficult because my parents are elderly. My 87-year-old father became extremely distressed, and what should have been a joyful birthday celebration for my mother turned into an uncomfortable and embarrassing experience for everyone at our table. The buffet offers plenty of food choices, but after being publicly confronted and embarrassed, it's hard to enjoy a meal. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, especially senior citizens. If there is ever a concern, it should be addressed discreetly and professionally rather than through a public accusation. I sincerely hope management reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future so that no other family has to experience what ours did.

Drinks on this side of the room. Food on that side. Check. First plate: garlic fried rice (Sinangag), fried eggs, longoniza, Filipino spaghetti, lechon, and a bowl of arroz caldo. Also grabbed two cups, one for water the other for what the waitress said was mango ice tea (spoiler alert: no mangoes were hurt in the process of making this ice tea). Second plate: watermelon and pineapple slices, menudo, kare kare, ube pancake. First the sinangag tasted like it's been left out too long even though it was just brought out. Lots of hard pieces of rice. I decided to not finish it. Next, the fried eggs and longaniza. Fried eggs felt too rubbery for maybe just me. And the longaniza didn't taste anything like longaniza. No spices no garlic. Just a basic sweet hot dog. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just a hot dog. I can say the Filipino spaghetti did taste somewhat like actual Filipino spaghetti, sweet. But not too sweet but also didn't see any hot dogs in there! Now the lechon. Tasted exactly like fried pork. That has zero spices and kinda been out for a while. The arroz caldo had some shreds of chicken I think but I had to fetch for it in the pot. Unfortunately there's no boiled eggs to add but you can add everything else to it like the fried garlic, spring onions lemon etc. Now the drinks. What's up with the non mango mango iced tea? It just tasted like iced tea and if I was told that id be okay. But I love mango drinks and was looking forward to it. The water is the only thing I could say I wasn't disappointed with and only if I didn't have to get it myself I guess would be the only downside lol. I did try to get a second plate. Consisted of some watermelon slices and pineapple slices, menudo and kare kare with white rice. The kare kare and menudo did look like what they were called and that is about it in comparison to what I've had in the past. The menudo had no tomato paste taste to it and was rather bland and the kare kare was also bland. Their kare kare sauce was very watery, missing the thick savory peanut buttery taste. And unfortunately, it was the watermelon slices that made me quit and lose my appetite. It had a weird rotten taste to it. I almost had to vomit. First I thought it was soaked in something maybe vinegar, or I dunno. But I just could not eat anything else. I hope today was just an off day and the food is better. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll ever come back or even recommend my friend or family to come eat here.

They still offer BBQ or shabu, but now you no longer have to choose just 1. Some tables now have bot grill and burners for parties that cannot agree on BBQ or shabu. Even though the weather has been so hot lately, I wanted some soup, but I also didn't want to miss out on BBQ with my family. I was also very hungry because I skipped lunch. I told my husband what I wanted and he said we're going to Kanpai. We arrived just after they opened and before the crowd. We were seated in the BBQ room, but our table had burners for shabu. Bonus: our server pointed a big fan directly at us because it was hot. This was my first time having shabu at Kanpai. All of the shabu pots are smaller, but come with a divider if you want 2 broths. I just had both of mine filled with tonkatsu bone broth. I got to enjoy my fill of shabu and bbq off of the grill. The seafood was excellent in the broth, and my favorite on the grill was the steak cubes. I also made sure to get a little taste of the beef curry, and we ordered chicken karage (which is excellent in the curry as well. Don't forget to leave room for dessert! And don't forget that non-alcoholic drinks are included with your meal. My husband discovered the fruit tea and switches between it and the milk tea. It was another filling and satisfying meal at Kanpai.
