Delicious spot with a wonderful view. Lots of chatters inside, with the bottom floor reserved for private rooms and reserved groups/parties. Super lively and adds to the amazing experience of this spot. There's a staircase to walk up on to dine-in and plenty of seats to sit down at while waiting. If you can't take the stairs, there's also an elevator on the side. I love the amazing views and the vibes of this spot. Located away from other buildings off to the side, you get a nice calm while eating at the balcony tables. Definitely have a jacket just incase it's too windy or cold for your liking. There's food is amazing and the chefs really bring out their best in each plate. Expect some wait time for your food, but just know it'll be worth it and it's a wonderful spot to relax, talk, or celebrate something special

Had such a great experience here! We made a reservation the night prior for 815 pm outdoors (they have heat lamps). Although we didn't quite make it for sunset, it was still a beautiful skyline view of SD. We started with the Chicken Lollipops and Roasted Corn and Asparagus Salad. I'm not a sauce person and at first, I was nervous it would be too much on the chicken, but it was perfect! Crunchy perfection and still hot. The salad was very refreshing and loved the small mozzarella balls in it. For entrees, we got the Beef Braised Short Ribs and Cioppino. Both were great sized portions! The short ribs were so tender, perfectly cooked and the truffle mash potatoes were divine! My husband loved the cioppino, delicious flavors, good amount of seafood. Easy and free parking, beautiful and huge restaurant! A lovely date night spot!

There's truly nothing better than a breakfast buffet. It was nice to see they had such a wide variety of options. The fried chicken and tri tip carving station were my favorites. They had an omelet station, but I do wish they had a dish with just plain scrambled eggs as well. Great service and beautiful view.

Came here as part of the anniversary event and had the most fun time. They set up a few stations; each station offering 2 small plates paired with 2 different beers. All the food were delicious! They sounded like simple "bar" food, like oysters or stuffed jalapeno but they added little details that really elevated them to the next level (like topping the oyster with quail egg). We enjoyed our food and drinks at the patio while enjoying the sunset and the beautiful scenery by the water. This is a great place to have a relaxing drinks and dinner!

Made a dinner reservation for 5PM. Waited a minute to get a table. We were given a corner with a great view! Linguine and Clams - fresh clams with delicious sauce but I wish it could have been thicker and linguine is more al dente. Had to request for extra parmesan cheese. Paella - perfectly cooked saffron rice, fresh seafoods and generous chicken and chorizo. Calamari with honey chili lime sauce - crispy outside and soft calamari with delicious sauce. Soup of the Day/ Lobster bisque - smooth, creamy, and well seasoned soup. Glad there's not too much wine added. Some restaurants, wine overpowers the soup. Outstanding customer service from front desk to our servers. We were given a great table overlooking San Diego Bay. Thanks for the free brownies with ice cream. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely lunch with the family to celebrate my son's graduation from high school. We arrived on time after the graduation and were seated right away with a table with the view of the bay. Our waitress Sarah was exceptional. She made sure we were taken care of and even gave my son a complimentary dessert. We had delicious appetizers and the lunch menu had the perfect selections. We got the hamburger, fish & chips, turkey sandwich, lobster rolls and Bbq sandwich. Everything was so yummy and everyone enjoyed the lunch. Everyone at the restaurant were so friendly and we had an amazing experience celebrating my son's graduation.

Wow what a view of the bay and what a Sunday brunch! Both amazing! Beautiful, clean restaurant with huge windows, wonderful non stop customer service. So many dishes to choose from, seafood, omelets, pastries, lemon pancakes, delicious roast beef with au jus, fresly cut fruit, berries and melons. So many choices and more! Orange and cranberry juice on tap. Black coffee, creamer and packets of sugar. My only complaint, I wasn't aware if there were other choices in regards to coffee or hot tea. The bar was open.

My girlfriend and I were excited to celebrate her birthday here at Tom Ham's Lighthouse!!! We were super lucky to walk in and get seated right away. The restaurant is out on the end of the harbor, with a beautiful view of the sea. You have to get up stairs on the top floor for the restaurant, with an elevator also on the side. We were served by Christina, although it took quite a long time to be approached and order. She was sweet though and we picked out what we wanted. I got the calamari for our shared appetizer, then I ordered the paella and my girlfriend got the salmon. The calamari was crunchy and delicious, and was seasoned very well!!! The sauce on the side was like sweet soy sauce. This dish came out very quick!!! Like less than a couple minutes after ordering!!! We however waited for a pretty long time for our entrees. I figured it was because of the busy day. Downstairs there was a private engagement reception room going on!!! Luckily the ambiance and setting of this place kept us relaxed and calm, and the weather was beautiful!!! We were both pleased with the food when it finally came and were so hungry that we ate the plates clean. After we finished eating, Christina was sweet and sang happy birthday to my girlfriend, lighting a candle on the brownie dessert plate we chose. It was very soft and warm, deliciously created with the caramel and chocolate drizzles!!! Overall a fantastic end to our night, so we were very grateful. As we were leaving, many people were coming in and I'm sure it was because they were trying to get the sunset views. Such a nice classy place to go out and eat at!!! Perfect for a seafood craving as well.

When we were visiting San Diego, we took the time to find a spot that had great reviews and would have a beautiful view. Being in the industry for over 30 years, I give a lot of grace to bars and restaurants, but this experience was unacceptable in so many ways. Our cauliflower came out cold. That was fixed and was delicious. We get oysters every chance we get, but something just wasn't right about these and we couldn't finish them. Also, I've never had a shrimp cocktail I didn't like but the shrimp had an odd flavor and a rubbery texture to them like they had been frozen, which obviously wouldn't make sense. Couldn't eat them. Such a disappointment, considering we were AT the ocean. The Caesar salads were under-dressed and watered down due to the wet lettuce. I will say the dressing was delicious, once we received extra. The piña colada was a joke. It tasted like a watered down rum and pineapple with a splash of cream. (Yes, I told my nephew he's partly responsible for ordering a piña colada. Ha!) I have absolutely no idea what they could have put in the risotto to make it taste like kids mac & cheese and come out that color, but it was not consumed. The paella was just embarrassing. Although our server was fantastic and tried to make everything right for us, including bringing a complementary birthday dessert, the final disappointment was when we were slapped with a service charge to help pay for the crappy experience . It is the job of the restaurant to pay their staff a proper wage. It is our job to pay for what we consume and for our service. If this seafood restaurant was in Nebraska, maybe it would make sense, but there is no excuse for the quality, flavor and presentation of the items we were served.

We came for happy hour and got a table outside. We had 4 people. Later 2 more people joined us, so we got a second table next to it. ( They don't allow more than 4 people per table outside) They have a great happy hour that includes $2 off Small Bites and $3 off Appetizers. The Chicken Lollipops and the Steak Bites were delicious! You can also get oysters on happy hour. Our server was very accommodating and we really appreciated him - I believe his name was Gilbert. I'm going to check with the others that were there to verify his name. And the view can't be beat! It just can't be beat!

Soup of the Day: Lobster Bisque

Short on Time, too Long to read Review: Great service, amazing reviews, creamy pasta and flavorful soup. Steak and potatoes okay. Long review: Firstly, the views were amazing. Especially at 530pm. Suns slightly going down and your finishing dinner by the time it's dark outside. Our waitress was great. Constantly checking on us and ensuring we were doing okay. Soup of the day was lobster bisque and it was so creamy, had the hint of lobster taste and just enough to truly be set as an appetizer. The linguine noodles were clumped together, which is my only negative review. Typically I enjoy not having large clumps together. Clams were cooked well and the sauce was great, you could taste the hint of white wine without being over dominating. The portion was great enough to have left overs. The NY Steak was okay. We asked for Medium Rare and it came out more on the medium side. The potatoes were a nice texture. I would say for the price the steak may not be worth it. Overall a great experience while in SD.

Love at First Light Stunning family-owned restaurant situated along the San Diego shores that's been in operation for over fifty years (ca. 1971) and even features a working US Coast Guard maintained beacon. The Good: *Renovated back in 2014, the interior of the restaurant is almost as stunning as the surroundings and views from the dining room. *Heated outdoor dining area (see "The Meh" below) *Local beers on-tap, as well as a full bar. *Reservations via OpenTable *The downstairs are rentable event spaces *Service from "Desiree L" was fantastic. *The Chicken Lollipops weren't quite what we were expecting, but holy-fucking-shit were they delicious! We were all fighting over the last ones. *We love a good Beet Salad and theirs was very good. My only complaint was I wish they'd use a blue or feta cheese instead of the burrata, but I'm probably in the minority on that. *Overall, the paella was good but I didn't get any soccarat (crispy rice from the bottom of the pan) w/ it. The Meh: *Service dogs only on the patio The Ugly: *The fact that they're not within a reasonable driving range from our place. :( Conclusion: Honestly, this place has everything we want in a restaurant: gorgeous interior, spectacular views, stellar service, good beer, and delicious food. Is *ALL* that really too much to ask?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really like this Buffet because all other All You Can Eat buffets and Korean barbecue buffets and even Las Vegas buffets all limit your eating time to 2 hours or less. 100s Seafood Buffet in Mission Valley kicked me out when I overstayed the 2 hours by 15 minutes. The manager hollered In demanding voice,"I want you to pay your server RIGHT NOW", and he kicked me out. That was the first time I ever went to 100s Seafood buffet and they didn't have a line of people waiting for tables when he kicked me out. I was about the only person sitting at a table in my area so it wasn't like I was keeping them from making more money. I never went back but the food was really good and I only had time to eat only five items in the buffet. Cost was $36 at the time So before coming to Great Plaza Buffet I called the restaurant and asked them if they had a 2-hour eating limit. The lady who seats people when you first come in, named Mimi, told me "No you can stay as long as you want". So I come and eat the crab and I eat alone most times. Sometimes I bring my next door neighbors but she doesn't eat crab because of allergies, but they like the other food. My favorite foods besides the snow crab is the black pepper lamb which is very tender. Lamb with no gristle. And I like the scallop shells that are stuffed. And the chicken with mushrooms so delicious. And their chicken wings are really big and crispy on the outside. I like the flan for dessert and the fresh fruit, watermelon, papaya and sometimes they have black cherries. This Great Plaza Buffet is generous with their food. I used to eat at a Asian buffet in Gilbert, Arizona, and they only bring out five crab legs at a time every 20 minutes. I have to stand there at the buffet waiting for the crab to come out because if I don't get it when they from put a few pieces, I will never see the crab. And I can only take three or four because they only brought out five or six and there's people standing behind me. I don't go there anymore. They are too stingy with the crab it's not worth it to drive 25 miles for the crab. Every 15 times I get a free dinner at Great Plaza. Tonight I'm going again and it will be reward number 9 towards my 15 to get the free dinner. I always eat alone. Thank you Great Plaza Buffet for not kicking me out like 100's Seafood Buffet. Eating at Great Plaza Buffet is the highlight of my week. It takes a long time to crack the crab and get the meat out of the shells. If you look at my 100's Seafood review written on Sept. 27, 2021, it got many funny votes which Yelp does not have funny votes anymore, but I wrote a really funny review that people wrote me and said they laughed so hard how funny it is and what a good writer I am. But they kicked me out and my bad review was read by so many people laughing at how 100's buffet treats their customers. That's what I love about Great Plaza Buffet. Their food items are high quality. And the price is good $26 for my senior price for the crab nights. As soon as I leave the restaurant I'm already can't wait to come back next Friday.

The food selection is vast so it's easy for anyone to find at least a few items they like. My personal favorites were the cream cheese wontons, fried rice and the coconut shrimp. I tried a few things that I didn't particularly like but that's the beauty of a buffet, I don't need to eat more of/commit to food I don't like! The food was all pretty fresh looking to keep up with the fast pace crowds hitting the buffet lines. The dessert selection was great and they have a very fun chocolate fountain, the chocolate in it is actually really good too and not that weird waxy chocolate you get in fountains sometimes. I will note that the ice cream bin doesn't seem very sanitary with so many people reusing the same scoop over and over. Another thing I didn't enjoy was the cream puffs, I'm not sure if I got a bad one or if they all tasted like this but mine seriously tasted like spoiled milk. Everyone that we interacted with was pleasant from the hostess, to our server and the person who checked us out. Our server was also pretty good about keeping our waters filled. Overall a very enjoyable experience! I look forward to coming back again soon.

Overall, great spot to gather with family and friends. It's a pretty good size restaurant too. We were a party of 12 and I would highly recommend making reservations. Thanks Tress and Staff for making my dining experience a memorable one.

Since we live more than an hour away, we waited until we were already in the area. Two days ago, we finally stopped by. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The first thing we noticed upon walking in was an unusual odor that wasn't very inviting. Since it wasn't their Sunday buffet day, we ordered à la carte: kare-kare, crispy pata, and chicken inasal. The service was good, food presentation was nice, and the dishes looked promising. However, the flavors did not meet our expectations. The kare-kare did not taste like traditional kare-kare, and the bagoong alamang was extremely salty with a very strong odor. The crispy pata had been chopped into pieces before frying, making it look and eat more like lechon kawali than the crispy pata we expected. As for the chicken inasal, it was far from the traditional version we're familiar with--it didn't even appear grilled and resembled chicken satay more than inasal. There were three of us dining, and all of us shared the same impressions of the food. Based on their advertising about serving food that's "as good as Nanay's," we came in with high expectations, but sadly, those expectations were not met. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. While others may have a different experience, we were not impressed with the food and would not make the drive back for another visit.

Our first few times that we went they didn't have the option of both at the same time, so you had to choose shabu or bbq. But now you're able to choose both for a bit higher price but nothing drastic and in my opinion is worth it. The establishment is nothing to wao about. Simple but very spacious and also clean. Parking is hit or miss. If you go after work hrs on the weekdays it's not too hard to find parking. Weekends for dinner is a different story but at least it is one of the few lots that you don't have to pay for parking on convoy. Now for the main reason I gave it a 5*. The meats on the bbq and shabu menu is not vast, a few options to pick from but it looks very fresh. Both sides have wagyu and prime meats but shabu side has lamb and fish also. Then you have 2 side or salad bars however you call them. They have different types of vegetables and noodles as well as seafoods. There is also canned sodas and 3 other types of drinks on the bbq side. And rice, soup and curry next to it. But I'm sure no one is there for the side characters but the chicken Karaage specially soy garlic.is really good so maybe give it a try. The servers are very friendly and fast at what they do. Oh and maybe save a little bit of room or like my wife and friends say the second stomach lol for some thrifty ice cream. Hope this is not too much to read, sorry.

I can't say that I loved everything that I had here; however, there were plenty of really tasty gems that I had. More importantly, in our group of fifty people, we all left satisfied. For the purpose of feeding affordable, crowd-pleasing options for lunch for a large number of people, I think that this is a pretty reasonable option. Soup and salad were fine. I can't say that I'd personally recommend the seafood or sushi. Honey Chicken was also not great. But their rice was moist and perfect, their char siu and chicken teriyaki were inspired, and their fried foods were satisfying and filling without being greasy. Overall, it was a positive experience that does the job!

15+ visits and Jeong Korean Buffet on Convoy still sets the bar!…read more As always, the food and service at Jeong continues to surpass every other Korean Buffet in San Diego. If you want friendly service and affordable Korean BBQ, this is the place. With today's economy and grocery prices out of control, Jeong is a super deal. The meat alone from your first trip to the buffet is worth what you'd pay for a rack at the supermarket. All you can ear! I was just at my local produce store and the prices are ridiculous: a head of lettuce $4.95 each! fresh turmeric $6.95/lb. Compare your shopping list to what you get at Jeong and you'll see it's way more reasonable than cooking at home. Another example: Japchae, Korean glass noodles with vegetables. At Zion Market a small tray is $10.95. At Jeong, you can put that same amount on your plate and you've only used about a third of your all-you-can-eat meal price. Got it? Don't forget to price out the food choices. You'll find it's cheaper to eat at Jeong than to cook at home! Remember ALL YOU CAN EAT. Does not mean wasting the food. Be respectful and celebrate that we have a restaurant who are helping the community through our current crisis and every day struggle. Enjoy and be part of the Jeong Ohana...thank you Jeong Korean Buffet restaurant and it's owners! Godwin
