We came here for Sunday brunch on our wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint! For $78 per person and they include crab crab, lobster, oyster, scallops, etc. you cannot go wrong. Yes they add a 5% surcharge to every bill, but come on , seafood buffet for under $80?!! You can't beat it! Also, the views are spectacular and my wife was very happy that we came here. Love this place! While having a mini vacay on Harbor Island, we went two days in a row b/c we liked it so much! For one thing, it's a great view of North Island, watching boats and ships. The food and service was excellent. We ordered the avocado/turkey sandwich both times. Perfection! Bread was toasted sourdough, and not too greasy. Loaded w/ yummy avocado, turkey and bacon. We didn't want fries as a side, and asked Angel, our server for other options. He suggested lobster bisque--it was delicious. Angel recognized us right away from the day before; he's a great waiter. Happy Hour Review Only On a Friday night my friends and I popped in for a quick happy hour within the bar area- Happy hour is from 3:00-6:00pm. The happy hour features reduced prices on appetizers and drinks! And a great special for fresh raw oysters. Oysters are only a $1.50 at this time and appetizers are $3.00 off. Select beer are 3 dollars for 8 ounces and 5 dollars for 16 ounces. Craft cocktails are two dollars off, whereas wines are one dollar off. We had to get their world famous bali hai mai tai- where no juice is added. You can actually taste the alcohol rather that just juice. They claim its quite possible the strongest drink you'll ever consume thus limit customers to two of these drinks per a person. Two is definitely enough. Without the happy hour price they are still a good deal, and even better at happy hour price! A solid drink! The other great thing about this restaurant/bar is the view- the restaurant is within a "lighthouse." So the views from the restaurant are wonderful- try to snag a spot at the bar for the best view or a spot outside to enjoy the waterfront. Nothing was fresh except probably the salad. If you go, insist on upstairs. Atmosphere is 3X better than in the large dining room on the first floor but food is the same. Anyone who knows me knows I love buffets. I'm gluttonous? If there's a line of food, I'm in it. So, I came to Tom Ham's Lighthouse ready to put in some serious fork work. The location, great. Ocean view, outdoor seating, kinda postcard worthy but time to talk about the grub. The selection is wide consisting of brunch staples, tri tip, pasta, fried chicken etc. BUT I came for the seafood, the glory, the treasure chest. Instead, what I got felt like the oceans leftovers. The crab legs? Not fresh and served cold. The meat stuck to the shell like they were welded in. Nothing like looking forward to a sweet bite of crab only to wrestle it like you're in a UFC match. The shrimp, oysters, scallops were also cold. And those scallops? Serving them icy was straight-up seafood abuse. Sundays here feel like Black Friday. Be prepared to shoulder your way to the buffet line unless you want to eat salad. Also several items were empty and had to wait a fairly long time. Service was fine and weren't the problem. My issue is that I walked in expecting a seafood paradise and walked out feeling like I just gnawed on a crab leg popsicle. Probably won't be back. Went for restaurant week. We luckily got a booth right by the window so we got to watch all the birds and boats go by while waiting for our food. Ceasar salad was amazing -- I loved the cheesy croutons! I would also recommend the salmon blt over the fish and chips. The breading on the fish got too soggy and was too thick for my liking. This is the place to visit if you want to enjoy the San Diego skyline with some sun. We ordered their fried chicken sandwich, bbq burger, and regular burger. I tried all 3 and all were equally great + a good portion. My personal favorite is the friend chicken sandwich and the sauce on it gives it that special flavor. The fries nicely crispy and the salad is fresh. We celebrated a birthday and were given a brownie with ice cream as a sweet surprise. It was sooo good!! Overall this place deserves the 5 stars. Our friends invited us to join them for dinner and a great view of the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. Tables near the windows provide a spectacular view of the bay and city skyline. It's a little noisy, but not any more than at other restaurants, especially during the holidays. I had a salad with mixed greens and added some perfectly grilled salmon. Could've used a bit more seasoning, but because it was well-cooked, I couldn't complain. We also got a side of brussels sprouts, which had a maple glaze instead of balsamic. It was surprisingly good.
