Oysters Rockefeller & House White Wine
    Marco A.

3/14/26: After a fun morning of Cherry Blossom Trees & margaritas (see last review), the adventure continues as we venture to Little Italy. What better place to have...checks notes...Argentinian food?! Trust me. Piedra Santa delivers! We came for the appetizers, but stayed for the Reggaeton Rave people watching! Oh such colorful, and rather small outfits! As we bang to the beat of the drum, our server shows us the wine menu. We're trying to be classy from Tallahassee! We ordered a glass of the house white wine. Simplicity. The House Favorites are there for a reason! Empanada Trio & Oyster Rockefeller to maintain the bougie brunch vibe. The texture contrast of the plates mixed better than the DJ we heard from the bay! No shade, homeboy. The crispy crust & meat packed empanadas (Beef, chicken, pork chile verde) dropped the bass. And the creamy texture of the oysters w/ spinach, herb, aged parmesano , breadcrumbs and (checks notes) bacon...provided a smooth tastebud transition into some deep house dessert! Bring on the flan for the savory set ender! Provecho! Overall, the delicious food, funky Latin beats, along with my curly haired companion provided an unforgettable tastebud rave that had us diva-ing out in the bathroom (see the pics...it'll make sense)! TL:DR - When you have the right partner, every day is a dance!

The atmosphere was great. Bougainvillea covered ceilings. A dry age vault. Nice furnishings. Be warned. If they seat you to the left of the restaurant, it gets HOT! At HH time. The food is all excellent. The service was a little lacking. For example, we had the oysters for appetizers and they didn't bring us a little fork and spoon to use the condiments. But the food. The steak was cooked perfectly to a medium (I should have got it rare) and it didn't even need the sauce it came with. But the chimichurri was decent. The fries though...amazing! Crispy. Truffly. The drinks were good too. I would have liked some well cocktail option in the HH but all in all it was a solid experience.

Came to check out their happy hour on a Friday and the place was mostly empty, so our group was seated immediately. This is a great spot for happy hour for a group since they have a good variety of shareable appetizers as well as entrees on their happy hour menu! Our table ordered the tuna tartare, braised beef cheek, and pappardelle to share, and I enjoyed all the dishes. The tuna tasted fresh, the beef cheek was tender, and the pappardelle was well cooked with just the right texture and chew. This place is normally on the pricier side, but I think the happy hour prices made things more worth it. We also ordered the artisan rustic bread to share among the table, but unfortunately it never came by the time we finished our meal (even after multiple reminders), so we ended up just cancelling it. Overall, a great spot to grab some drinks and good food for happy hour, although not sure I'd pay full price for these items during normal hours.

An excellent addition to Little Italy! From the cocktails, to apps, and the steak selection, everything we had was absolutely delicious (with tons of gluten free options!). The restaurant also has such a cute, upscale but fun vibe overall. We love coming here for dinner or a quick drink and a bite at the bar before a show at Music Box.

Fantastic happy hour spot here in Little Italy. The service was top notch and the $1.50 oysters were very popular at our table. It was a coworker's birthday and the chocolate cake they brought out disappeared quickly. We plan on making this our regular spot for small team outings!

We came here to celebrate my birthday. I really like this restaurant: the beautiful decor, super clean bathrooms, amazing service, and good food. We came here during happy hour time and ordered a variety of happy hour items to share and splurged on a $72 ribeyes steak. Kids loved the baked oyster Rockefeller and lobster Mac and Cheese the most. We loved both the raw and baked oysters. Our table probably had a total of ~30 oysters . What really disappointed me was the ribeye. We asked for medium rare and as you can see in the photo, it was more like medium well... and we should've sent it back but didn't want to ruin the mood so we ate it. But I feel like at this price point my expectation for that ribeye was very high. Overall, I still really like this restaurant but maybe I give up on ordering steak here after two bad experiences with steak here now. I do really like their happy hour, especially the juicy oysters!

Overall the food was good. The drinks were diverse, and different, and very good. The steaks were good, not the best in San Diego, but still good. We went on a Thursday night and although there weren't many people there, the server went a while without checking on us after dinner (before clearing plates). The decor is really nice, I like what they did with the space.

Came here for dinner because my coworker told me about it and after looking at pictures on Yelp I had to try myself. We went around 5pm and parking wasn't bad at all for being downtown. We had reservations for 6:30 but asked if we could be seated sooner and they made it happen. Our server was very nice and kept checking on us which we really liked. We were able to make happy hour so we tried a couple of things on there as well as the dinner menu. The atmosphere was welcoming and all the food we tried were delicious. Perfect place to do a date night. Definitely recommend to try.

I joined a group of friends for Happy Hour on a Saturday evening. Take note: Most restaurants only offer these special prices on week days. The food and cocktails were made from high quality ingredients. Our group ordered Argentinian steak with mashed potatoes, beef sliders, Cobb Salad, and hand-made empanadas. The portions are sharable "small plates." The presentation was fancy! The bread loaf had Truffle butter and a wick concealed in the center, which was lit for our enjoyment. The cocktails were unique and created with nice garnishments, I will upgrade to top shelf liquor and enjoy as I sip and cheer with the group. The interior has nice art work, greenery, and dimmed lighting, creating a nice ambiance. Be sure to make reservations to secure your table. Sincerely, Rosemary

Really nice spot in little italy! The atmosphere is a bit over the top but if you like the "instagrammable" vibes this is your place. Overall, the food was great and wine was delicious. Our server was super friendly and gave a very generous pour! We've only come here for happy hour so far and can attest that it's worth it. Good prices and great flavor on the steak and oysters. Would most likely come back for a proper dinner given our positive experience so far.

We had a 5:30 PM reservation on Sunday and were welcomed into a calm, inviting space that quickly set the tone for a relaxed evening. We were seated near the open kitchen, which added a fun, immersive touch--watching the chefs in action made the experience feel dynamic and authentic. We chose to order from the regular dinner menu rather than the prix fixe, and we're glad we did. Our server, Juan, greeted us warmly and started us off with water and a freshly baked loaf of bread that was absolutely delicious--lightly crisp on the outside, soft and pillowy inside. The perfect balance. We selected a bottle of wine, which Juan expertly presented and poured, elevating the moment. For dinner, I ordered the skirt steak with chimichurri, and my date chose the Chilean sea bass. (Sides are ordered separately--we shared the mashed potatoes, which were creamy and satisfying.) Both entrées were beautifully prepared and full of flavor. By the time we were midway through dinner, the restaurant had filled up completely--always a great sign. The energy was lively yet intimate, the service remained attentive, and the food continued to impress. This is a wonderful choice for date night or any special occasion. We also noticed their happy hour offerings were very well priced, making it an appealing spot to gather with friends for great bites and drinks at a value. Highly recommend.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Piedra Santa and had a great experience. Our server Riva was very friendly, helpful and attentive, and the space was beautiful. We ordered way too much, as we walked in hungry and didn't know what to expect for the portion sizes, but each item was fantastic. We especially loved the starters (empanadas and truly the best tuna crudo we have ever had) as well as the sides (mac & cheese and humita). The tomahawk surf and turf was also great! We will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed this place, the food is amazing. Great atmosphere/noise level is just right, nice interior decorating & seating. Service was really good as well very attentive & helpful. For a steakhouse the price was very affordable. Great selection on wines, they offer a full service bar and they offer happy hour all week. Excellent place for a date night, birthday, or anniversary celebration. Parking is available on street side, or there are two paid parking lots within a block distance. I highly recommend the Entraña skirt steak with the chimichurri sauce it's excellent.
