First off, this place is absolutely adorable! The lights, flowers, and overall ambiance make it such a cute spot. My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and we had such a great experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and their drink recommendations were on point. We ordered several items from the happy hour menu, including the empanadas, lobster mac and cheese, and the steak with potatoes. Everything was delicious, and the happy hour prices made it even better. What really stood out was how they helped make my friend's birthday feel special. They surprised her with a candle in the bread and butter, which was such a unique and thoughtful touch. To top it all off, they brought out a flan for dessert to celebrate her birthday. It's the little details like that that really make a place memorable. Between the beautiful atmosphere, great food and drinks, and outstanding service, this is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. Whether you're looking for a happy hour, a date night, or a place to celebrate with friends, I highly recommend checking this place out!

First off, the interior of Piedra Santa is stunning! So many details, and textures to take in. They play a mix of modern electronic chill music so we immediately felt at home. Mostly booths and chairs, all the seating was quite plush for a long meandering dinner with your date(s). What also struck me was just how genuinely friendly everyone we interacted with was. While drinks were a little slow coming, and towards the end service wasn't quite as timely, overall Isai did an excellent job of taking care of us. Food was superb! Their menu has so much deliciousness it was so difficult to choose! We started out with their warm sourdough with a black truffle butter candle. Very quirky but also delicious. It paired so well with their outstanding beef tartare which came with a bone marrow gravy, delicious. Additionally we couldn't resist an order of empanadas. Pork, chicken and beef, while all tasty, the beef had me falling in love. Continuing our next course, we shared the tuna crudo. While beautifully presented, the amount and strength of the sauce almost overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the fish. Almost. Wedge salad was solid as well as their charred Caesar. For dinner I had their filet special. A filet mignon cooked to a perfect medium rare, topped with two tender seared jumbo sea scallops, then a pile of French fried onions and a rich and creamy mushroom sauce. What a gorgeous dish that hit all the right notes, so indulgent. Some honorable mentions; don't sleep on the beef cheek atop a creamy pool of cauliflower puree. Deep, rich beefy flavor, could have made this an entree. A close second was their pappardelle wagyu ragu, simply prepared but oh-so decadent. With style, service and excellent cookery I'm smitten! Very much looking forward to returning for some time with their happy hour menu! Piedra Santa!

The inside is so cute. However, the "outdoor" portion is still somewhat inside but without AC so on a warm day, it's just awkwardly warm without a breeze. We came for happy hour, which has pretty good prices and lasts until 6:30 on weekdays. The steak was a $25 steak. Not bad but would never pay more than $25 for it. The bread and truffle butter were actual standouts. All in all, it was about $100 for 2 steaks, 2 drinks, the bread, and 3 oysters. So pretty good price.

The atmosphere was great. Bougainvillea covered ceilings. A dry age vault. Nice furnishings. Be warned. If they seat you to the left of the restaurant, it gets HOT! At HH time. The food is all excellent. The service was a little lacking. For example, we had the oysters for appetizers and they didn't bring us a little fork and spoon to use the condiments. But the food. The steak was cooked perfectly to a medium (I should have got it rare) and it didn't even need the sauce it came with. But the chimichurri was decent. The fries though...amazing! Crispy. Truffly. The drinks were good too. I would have liked some well cocktail option in the HH but all in all it was a solid experience.

Great Argentinian cuisine. Awesome dishes, nice service and beautiful decor with nice background music. Definitely recommend this place.

Came to check out their happy hour on a Friday and the place was mostly empty, so our group was seated immediately. This is a great spot for happy hour for a group since they have a good variety of shareable appetizers as well as entrees on their happy hour menu! Our table ordered the tuna tartare, braised beef cheek, and pappardelle to share, and I enjoyed all the dishes. The tuna tasted fresh, the beef cheek was tender, and the pappardelle was well cooked with just the right texture and chew. This place is normally on the pricier side, but I think the happy hour prices made things more worth it. We also ordered the artisan rustic bread to share among the table, but unfortunately it never came by the time we finished our meal (even after multiple reminders), so we ended up just cancelling it. Overall, a great spot to grab some drinks and good food for happy hour, although not sure I'd pay full price for these items during normal hours.

3/14/26: After a fun morning of Cherry Blossom Trees & margaritas (see last review), the adventure continues as we venture to Little Italy. What better place to have...checks notes...Argentinian food?! Trust me. Piedra Santa delivers! We came for the appetizers, but stayed for the Reggaeton Rave people watching! Oh such colorful, and rather small outfits! As we bang to the beat of the drum, our server shows us the wine menu. We're trying to be classy from Tallahassee! We ordered a glass of the house white wine. Simplicity. The House Favorites are there for a reason! Empanada Trio & Oyster Rockefeller to maintain the bougie brunch vibe. The texture contrast of the plates mixed better than the DJ we heard from the bay! No shade, homeboy. The crispy crust & meat packed empanadas (Beef, chicken, pork chile verde) dropped the bass. And the creamy texture of the oysters w/ spinach, herb, aged parmesano , breadcrumbs and (checks notes) bacon...provided a smooth tastebud transition into some deep house dessert! Bring on the flan for the savory set ender! Provecho! Overall, the delicious food, funky Latin beats, along with my curly haired companion provided an unforgettable tastebud rave that had us diva-ing out in the bathroom (see the pics...it'll make sense)! TL:DR - When you have the right partner, every day is a dance!

This place has an amazing happy hour. Sat at the bar and had a couple drinks and food items! Really loved everything we got. Very fresh oysters, beef cheeks were soo tender and declious, tuna tartar also very fresh and soft. Empanadas were nice and filling.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. I really like this restaurant: the beautiful decor, super clean bathrooms, amazing service, and good food. We came here during happy hour time and ordered a variety of happy hour items to share and splurged on a $72 ribeyes steak. Kids loved the baked oyster Rockefeller and lobster Mac and Cheese the most. We loved both the raw and baked oysters. Our table probably had a total of ~30 oysters . What really disappointed me was the ribeye. We asked for medium rare and as you can see in the photo, it was more like medium well... and we should've sent it back but didn't want to ruin the mood so we ate it. But I feel like at this price point my expectation for that ribeye was very high. Overall, I still really like this restaurant but maybe I give up on ordering steak here after two bad experiences with steak here now. I do really like their happy hour, especially the juicy oysters!

An excellent addition to Little Italy! From the cocktails, to apps, and the steak selection, everything we had was absolutely delicious (with tons of gluten free options!). The restaurant also has such a cute, upscale but fun vibe overall. We love coming here for dinner or a quick drink and a bite at the bar before a show at Music Box.

Fantastic happy hour spot here in Little Italy. The service was top notch and the $1.50 oysters were very popular at our table. It was a coworker's birthday and the chocolate cake they brought out disappeared quickly. We plan on making this our regular spot for small team outings!

I joined a group of friends for Happy Hour on a Saturday evening. Take note: Most restaurants only offer these special prices on week days. The food and cocktails were made from high quality ingredients. Our group ordered Argentinian steak with mashed potatoes, beef sliders, Cobb Salad, and hand-made empanadas. The portions are sharable "small plates." The presentation was fancy! The bread loaf had Truffle butter and a wick concealed in the center, which was lit for our enjoyment. The cocktails were unique and created with nice garnishments, I will upgrade to top shelf liquor and enjoy as I sip and cheer with the group. The interior has nice art work, greenery, and dimmed lighting, creating a nice ambiance. Be sure to make reservations to secure your table. Sincerely, Rosemary

But alas, Carbon Angela's Kitchen deserves every flower, every reservation, every "you have to try this place" text thread, and every bit of love. This place has become one of my absolute favorite hidden gems in San Diego. Easily top five for me, and as someone who dines out a lot for a living, that is not a casual statement. There are places you like, places you recommend, and then there are places that start to feel woven into your actual life. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is that for me. Angela is truly the heart of this place. She has this way of making you feel like you are not just coming in for dinner, but being welcomed into something she deeply cares about. And Emanuele is absolutely part of that magic too. Together, they have built something that feels warm, generous, soulful, and so special. They feel like long-lost friends and family now, and I am honestly just so proud of them and all they are creating. The food is the kind that makes you want to order with the whole table in mind. The griglia mista is hands down one of the best investments you can make if you are dining with a group. It is the meat platter, it is the moment, and it is absolutely worth ordering. Four to five people can split it, especially if you are also doing appetizers, salad, wine, and a few extra things for the table. It is such a perfect nod to what Carbon was before Angela took over, when the space leaned more BBQ, but now it feels beautifully married with Angela's warmth, Italian influence, and the kind of hospitality that makes the whole meal feel like an experience. And please do not sleep on the rest of the menu. The short rib is fire. The arancino trio is always a yes. The eggplant croquette? Obsessed. The crespelle? So good. The Everything Salad is my favorite salad on the menu, and the street corn should never, under any circumstances, be skipped. I said what I said. The wine selection is top tier, the appetizers are memorable, and the whole place has that rare magic of feeling cozy, intentional, and completely unpretentious. You can come for a low-key dinner, a girls' night, a celebration, or one of those "we just need a really good meal and a really good glass of wine" kind of evenings. And the back patio? Perfect for an evening under twinkling lights. It is one of those spaces that just begs for a long table, good conversation, clinking glasses, and the kind of night that accidentally turns into a core memory. They also have catering menus available, which is very important information to keep in your back pocket if you are hosting anything soon. What Angela has built is honestly something to behold. One of the hardest-working restaurateurs doing the dang thing in a city like San Diego, and now opening Bedda across the way too? I am in awe and wonder watching it all unfold. It takes so much courage, grit, taste, excellence, and heart to build what they are building, and you can feel all of it in the room. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is a true labor of love, a hidden gem, and one of those places I will keep cheering for again and again. Go hungry. Order the griglia mista. Get the Everything Salad. Do not skip the street corn. Share Share Share, so you can try a little bit of everything and do a tried and true family style meal, you won't regret it.

It's served Family-Style and is enough for 3-4 people which was only $60. The restaurant is small and charming with a window into the kitchen. They make their pasta fresh (be sure to include your pasta texture preference when ordering (Al Dente or Softer, etc.) We were greeted by Angela (the owner) and she made us feel welcome (as if we were dining over a friend's home which I absolutely loved). She started us off with some fresh baked Focaccia which had herb + cheese baked into the top (of course it was delicious). We added an appetizer called Crespelle which was a really yummy spin on a Manicotti made the right way (with a Crespelle). The salad was fresh and tasty. We order the Rigatoni Sugo which has a Tomato based sauce and assorted meats (Meatballs, Sausage, Cubes of meat) and was delicious along with the meats as well. We also added the Picanha Steak Entree with the Brie Fondue and that was so different while being soooo yummy. We enjoyed some wine with our meal and we finished with this really delicious Bavarian Cream Filled Napoleon with a Berry Coulis (desserts do change so check with restaurant to see what they have available the day you want to visit).. We can't wait to come back and try their Grigliata Mista (Meat Feast for 3-4 people).

Otherwise it would've been impossible to get parking. We did park across the street at a pay parking lot for under $16 for 2 hours. Great music being played, mainly old school, which I love. We ordered from their Prix Fixe menu, for starts we got Caesar salad and the Shrimp cocktail. Salad was good and my shrimp cocktail was even better, plenty of horseradish plus slices of a spicy pepper possibly habanero. We also got their complimentary read which was soft and tasty. We shared a porterhouse steak medium rare and it was delicious. For sides we ordered asparagus and macaroni and cheese. Portions were abundant no complaints. And for dessert we ordered the apple pie which came topped with crème fraise. I also got a Cafe Americano, which is the only coffee you can order. Our waiter was knowledgeable and entertaining. Helping us with ordering and making our celebration memorable. Definitely a great place for celebrating.

We grabbed a table overlooking the water, and the whole setting just works--open-air, breezy, relaxed, and upscale without feeling stuffy. Add a cocktail and that waterfront backdrop and you're already off to a good start. We definitely sampled our way around the menu. The crispy sweet potato fries were a favorite--hot, crisp, and perfectly snackable. We also had a loaded basket of fries with crispy bites and dipping sauces that disappeared pretty quickly. The Asian-inspired chicken salad was fresh, colorful, and packed with texture: grilled chicken, greens, crunchy wontons, herbs, and a sweet-savory dressing that pulled everything together. Then there was that sandwich. Thick, toasted bread, a seriously generous filling, bacon, greens, and a creamy sauce on the side. This is not a dainty lunch situation. Come hungry! We also tried a beautifully presented seafood dish with crispy taro chips and plantains. Great presentation and a nice change of pace from the heavier plates. Cocktails were refreshing and exactly what you want while sitting by the bay. What really sells C-Level, though, is the full experience. You're enjoying good food and drinks with boats passing in the distance and some of the best waterfront scenery in San Diego. It's equally good for taking out-of-town guests, a leisurely lunch, date day, or simply pretending you're on vacation for a couple of hours. Pro tip: Get a waterfront table if you can. That's where C-Level really shines.
