Oh such colorful, and rather small outfits! As we bang to the beat of the drum, our server shows us the wine menu. We're trying to be classy from Tallahassee! We ordered a glass of the house white wine. Simplicity. The House Favorites are there for a reason! Empanada Trio & Oyster Rockefeller to maintain the bougie brunch vibe. The texture contrast of the plates mixed better than the DJ we heard from the bay! No shade, homeboy. The crispy crust & meat packed empanadas (Beef, chicken, pork chile verde) dropped the bass. And the creamy texture of the oysters w/ spinach, herb, aged parmesano , breadcrumbs and (checks notes) bacon...provided a smooth tastebud transition into some deep house dessert! Reservation at 6:30 pm arrived 5-8 min early. Got sat right away. Placed our order 15 min after. Received our meal at 7:40 pm. Restaurant was not crowded however it took a very long time to get our food. Service started good but ended horribly. Waiter was hard to locate, had to ask other waiters for help. I really think they could do a better job with the servers , their energy is def not there!!! Steak was solid. Other than that, service was a bit lacking, lobster ravioli was borderline inedible, and they need to ventilate the restaurant if they are doing table side tomahawk steak searing. The food is all excellent. The service was a little lacking. For example, we had the oysters for appetizers and they didn't bring us a little fork and spoon to use the condiments. But the food. The steak was cooked perfectly to a medium (I should have got it rare) and it didn't even need the sauce it came with. But the chimichurri was decent. The fries though...amazing! Crispy. Truffly. Came to check out their happy hour on a Friday and the place was mostly empty, so our group was seated immediately. This is a great spot for happy hour for a group since they have a good variety of shareable appetizers as well as entrees on their happy hour menu! Our table ordered the tuna tartare, braised beef cheek, and pappardelle to share, and I enjoyed all the dishes. The tuna tasted fresh, the beef cheek was tender, and the pappardelle was well cooked with just the right texture and chew. This place is normally on the pricier side, but I think the happy hour prices made things more worth it. We also ordered the artisan rustic bread to share among the table, but unfortunately it never came by the time we finished our meal (even after multiple reminders), so we ended up just cancelling it. The second thing that greeted me at Piedra Santa is the fragrant smell of meats smoking, the third were the olive trees adorned with roses, and the fourth the walls covered in deep blue chevroned tiles. The restaurant is stunning to be in. Our party of five ordered the bread roll (with the iconic butter candle wick), steaks (both the Argentinian and aged), and several of their sides (beet salad, mashed potatoes, broccolini, Mac and cheese, mushrooms). While all of the food was incredible, the restaurant fumbled when it came to service as a high end establishment. The butter wick candle failed to burn, so the server torched it until it was mostly melted (talked that way up to my friends beforehand). The meal was rushed as we had barely finished eating our appetizers when the entrees were served, but yet drinks would take twenty minutes to deliver. Our server was obviously ill (masked however) and I noticed the servers touching our glasses with the pitcher of water. While these are minor points and we had a great time, our service was clunky given the price tag. Would I come back in a heart beat though: absolutely. read more

We came here during happy hour time and ordered a variety of happy hour items to share and splurged on a $72 ribeyes steak. Kids loved the baked oyster Rockefeller and lobster Mac and Cheese the most. We loved both the raw and baked oysters. Our table probably had a total of ~30 oysters . What really disappointed me was the ribeye. We asked for medium rare and as you can see in the photo, it was more like medium well... and we should've sent it back but didn't want to ruin the mood so we ate it. But I feel like at this price point my expectation for that ribeye was very high. Overall, I still really like this restaurant but maybe I give up on ordering steak here after two bad experiences with steak here now. Came here for dinner because my coworker told me about it and after looking at pictures on Yelp I had to try myself. We went around 5pm and parking wasn't bad at all for being downtown. We had reservations for 6:30 but asked if we could be seated sooner and they made it happen. Our server was very nice and kept checking on us which we really liked. I joined a group of friends for Happy Hour on a Saturday evening. Take note: Most restaurants only offer these special prices on week days. The food and cocktails were made from high quality ingredients. Our group ordered Argentinian steak with mashed potatoes, beef sliders, Cobb Salad, and hand-made empanadas. The portions are sharable "small plates." The presentation was fancy! The bread loaf had Truffle butter and a wick concealed in the center, which was lit for our enjoyment. First time I seen this restaurant wife and I walked by it thinking this is a cute little spot, and we somehow ended up here for our anniversary. They do offer wheelchair access, so just in case is anyone wants to know they can accommodate. Wife and I sat I the happy hour area, and the menu for the happy hour honestly was really good for what you pay for. They even have bottles on the menu for wine for like $25. I would recommend the tuna tartar, the sauce tastes really good and if you get the bread dip it into the sauce it makes a great flavor. We also had the beef cheek and the meat was very tender and the mash was very delicious. I would say next time I would order a salad as well as we did not order one this time but it's not on the happy hour menu but we saw someone next to us order one and it looked really good. It's great that happy hours are on Sundays also so if you want a late night happy hour with a cute little spot I would recommend coming here. Next time I'll try the prime steak and the sliders. Took a trip to Argentina by way of Piedra Santa in Little Italy, reconnecting with a crazy wonderful old friend and meeting a whole new cast of characters. Showed up at 4pm for happy hour. We were practically the only ones in the restaurant, so many of us took advantage and captured photos of the amazing decor. A lot of wild accent details like the bougainvillea creeping along the ceiling and the murals behind the bar. After taking so many pics, I realized I wasn't alone. A fish was watching closely, and it did not look amused. OYSTER ROCKEFELLER and FRESH OYSTERS came out first. Rockefeller with creamed spinach, herbs, aged parmigiano, bacon, breadcrumbs. Rich and savory without being over the top. Solid execution. Crowd pleaser, so more were ordered. Fresh oysters were solid as well. ARTISAN RUSTIC BREAD was another hit with the candle lit truffle butter. So good it needed a companion. Table-side BEEF CARPACCIO came out with a chimichurri drizzle, even though it's not listed on the menu. That extra touch took it from great to outstanding. BRAISED BEEF CHEEK was another crowd pleaser, savory, flavorful, and tender. PRIME STEAK and KAMPACHI CRUDO Happy Hour items were both very good. TRUFFLE PAPAS FRITAS with summer black truffle and shaved parmesan cheese was crack. Even as it cooled, it maintained its crispiness. Perfect. LAMB LOLLIPOPS were cooked medium rare, but some of the internal fat didn't fully render and was tough to eat, so I didn't. My friend also tasted one and had the same reaction. JAPANESE MIYAZAKI PREFECTURE WAGYU A5 had incredible flavor, served medium rare but in thicker slices than what I'd like, some of the fat stayed heavy and didn't fully melt. CHILEAN SEA BASS was nicely plated and cooked well, but didn't care for the parsnip purée. One too many veggies on the plate for me. As for the service, it was slow moving. The restaurant wasn't crowded yet, but we still had to wait at various times for basic table needs. Without going into detail, attentiveness could have been better. In the end, the waitress made up for some of the earlier lapses. All in all, a solid event and a perfect spot. I had been wanting to try Piedra Santa after having seen the rave reviews on Yelp. Also, I had a glimpse of their happy hour menu, which was full of great deals on oysters, solidifying my decision. Anyway, I met up with a friend at 5PM on a Tuesday evening, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the happy hour, as it lasted until 6:30. The restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived, as it had recently opened. The decor was a combination of classy modern and whimsical, with ivy and floral-shaped lighting on the ceiling. Our server was very polite and professional. He was attentive and informative about the food. Between our server, and another staff member who stopped by to collect dishes and pour water, we felt very well cared for. For cocktails, we tried From Rosario with Love, which was a rosebud infused Vesper Martini. It was exceptional. Also, we tried the Medianoche. It was well balanced and presented, but I didn't much care for the flavor profile, so I returned back to From Rosario with Love. We shared a couple dozen oysters which were delicious and well worth the $1.50 each. We also enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller which were rich with flavor and quite filling. We shared the empanada trio (pork, chicken, and beef) so that we could try them all. My friend ordered the braised beef cheek, which was the only thing that didn't stand out much to me. It was very tender, but just not as interesting as the other dishes. Anyway, I will definitely be back at Piedra Santa, as there are some happy hour dishes and cocktails that I would like to try. If I could give it a 10 star I would!! This place knows how to cook a steak!! Everything we ordered was amazing but the beef tartare absolutely a must! Haven't had one that good!! One thing was that on my wine there were fruit flies inside and I asked for it to be taken care of and the server was nice enough to remove it from our bill. Service was nice the servers were away a lot and we couldn't get her to come back with water but it was a busy night so that was alright! The place is beautiful low dim lights but only thing was that the tables were too close to one another that made it less intimate but the food was the star so I personally didn't mind! We were befuddled because there was a waitress there serving plates as we were seated. She didn't see us or did she ignore the arrival of 2 people? Not very astute for an eatery of this magnitude. I had the empanadas which were very flavorful and hubby had the steak, which he thought was okay. Service was very sporadic. I came here after a recommendation from a friend and also from social media posts. I loved the fun art on the wall with the lady posing with a steak aloft in her hand. It definitely is an elevated steak house experience, with large windows open to the street. Reservations were made in advance for our party and service was great at times, but other times it was a miss. We asked for water several times to the point where my friend stood up and just grabbed the pitcher nearby and served us herself. The Happy Hour menu had some good food and beverage selections. Some hits were the Lobster Mac and Cheese and the oysters. I also really loved the bread with the truffle butter in the middle. However, the dry aged beef, like another Yelper had noted, definitely could have used a bit of garnishment because it was looking rather plain for a high end restaurant. I also wasn't feeling the Chancho Wedge Salad. Too much dressing with the crispy pork belly off to the side. It's an interesting combo. I little overpriced due to the pork belly. Moving on to the regular menu, our party tried several of the steak items. The Paradilla for 2 was an amazing presentation, with the steak sizzling as it arrives on your table. The other pieces of steak were also juicy and cooked well - we tried the Bife de Lomo and Bife Ancho. For dessert we had the Chocolate Soufflé, which was divine! The flan would have been better without the mint garnishment because it ended up flavoring the flan, which was a little off putting for some of the people who ate that part.
