We really enjoyed having dinner here! The dining area - especially near the bar - is sort of old-fashioned in the very best way. They have these booths that face the bar in half-moon shape and it creates a delightful, cozy ambiance. The staff was friendly and timely. The food was amazing with generous portions. This place is all about large portions. I think it's more about quantity than quality. The quality is ok. Seems like everyone was taking bags home with them. Looked like a good place to have an office lunch meeting ect. The bread sticks were good. Salad was fresh and good. The Munster cheese in my pats almost choked me. My wife's was a lot better. Went to Tomato Bros on 7/31/2025 for the first time in a few yrs with some family. I will not be back. There were fruit flies and house flies everywhere. Around table, landing on our food. We had to swat them away throughout meal. Complained to waitress, who said management is aware and they are supposed to be getting "sprayed" every night because they know it's a problem and that she would mention to manager. For anyone who used to go to Pasquales in Royal Oak, this gives similar vibes. Breadsticks aren't as good, but good! I've been here a couple of times. First time I had spaghetti and marinara and my husband had pizza. Huge serving of spaghetti! Good flavor, no complaints. Also had a great server. Second time was after COVID. Sweet server. She shared with us that she was doing her best but with the shortage of servers and number of tables, SHE FELT she wasn't doing a good job. But she was! We had pizza, breadsticks, and antipasto salad. The salad was ok. Not quite my style of antipasto salad. It was almost too fancy for this place. Pizza was good. Cooked perfectly and lots of toppings! Ordered the gf pasta, told it's like a mostaccioli noodle with marinara sauce, added sautéed mushrooms and black olives and a small side salad. My hubby ordered the lasagna with the Caesar salad. Heard their breadsticks here are yummy so will break my gf to try the bread today, we also ordered their flavored cream cheese spread. The lasagna came out and it was a large portion and the plate was hot from being in the oven. My hubby said it was yummy. Portions are big here, big enough here. My husband comes here only for their lasagna and their bread sticks. Our salads were decent enough, nothing special My gf pasta came out in a decent sized bowl. It had a good smothering of their tomato sauce. The pasta is al dente and decent, a bit chewy but okay. The sauce wasn't bad, not spicy as was requested but better with some crushed peppers. I like the added mushrooms and olives. Came back for my 3rd time, started with the famous breadsticks and added the cream cheese spread. My dad has the Italian sausage Stromboli and a small Greek salad. My husband had his favorite lasagna with a Caesar salad. I got the Greek entree salad and a blackened salmon. Me and my grandfather came here many years ago and try this place we really liked it. After many years of us forgetting about this place, we were driving to from where I live to Lansing to see my grandfather's brother in-law's and we stopped by on the way there. I ordered the Spaghetti with meat sauce and it was really delicious and my grandfather liked what he ordered as well because of this, we have been coming here quite often and we will continue to come as often as we can. read more

My boyfriend and I were going on a Saturday cruise and he had been here before and decided to bring me for an early Valentine's Day dinner :) I am so glad he did. I absolutely love Italian food. One of my favorites is Roman Village. This is now a close second for me. One thing to note is how generous the portion sizes are. I saw some reviews and thought it was just an exaggeration- but nope! They don't skimp out on the noodles, dude. Honestly my bowl of mostaccioli could have probably fed the both of us and then some. And it was delicious! Their meat sauce is really really good, and I had it topped with huge ginormous meatballs. My fav part is that we have enough to take home and eat later tonight when we get hungry. My boyfriend had lasagna and was so pleased when it tasted like his moms. His mom is Italian so you know she makes the good stuff, that goes to show just how good this place is. Their breadsticks were so garlic-y and hot and we dunked them in hot marinara. Delicious. I couldn't pass up the carrot cake. Every time I'm out and carrot cake is on the menu, I get it. I've had so many different kinds of carrot cake- hot, cold, frosted, unfrosted, real carrots, fake carrots, you name it. This one was interesting in that I am fairly certain it had a buttercream frosting, and it didn't taste like cream cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed it because it's always almost cream cheese frosting. Tried the penne pasta in marinara which was okay--a lot of tomato chunks that I do not like. I prefer more smooth marinara sauce, so if this doesn't bother you worth it! My coworker got the Anna's Chicken greek salad that looked amazing and very fresh! They are giant though! easily a sharable for two. Today I got the chicken piccata with a ceasar side salad! I have rated here several times however I haven't been able to make it back for a couple years. I had to run to Howell for a mower and I couldn't wait to for lunch so I could eat there. It did not disappoint. The bread was awesome as usual I added the garlic cheese sauce which is a must. The soup was great and of course the Alfredo was everything I hoped for. Customer service was top notch our waitress was always hustling and on top of keeping us and everyone else's happy. Overall very clean and of course provides plenty of room for big parties and during the COVID times room for social distancing. This place remains one of my favorites. read more

I'm not sure if they come with the meal (as i noticed other people were getting bread with their drinks) but we ordered some for the table and OMG, best breadsticks ever! We had a group of 17 that visited Tomato Brothers. Much to our surprise, the food was horrible. Every person that ordered the fish, received fish that was undercooked. One of the pizzas was extremely undercooked, and was sent back to be remade. The steamed broccoli was barely warm, and the ribs were overcooked. Eating at this establishment over the years, this came as a surprise. The menu items are moderately priced, so the expectation of well prepared food should go without saying. The server was great, but that is just part of the equation when eating out. I am not saying I will not be back, but it will likely be a while. Just went the other day. Kevin was our server and from start to finish he was excellent. Couldn't recommend a better server. My husband got the club sandwich and loved it, the fries were crisp and soft on the inside! Breadsticks are always a fave for us too. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with the blackened chicken, one of the best Alfredo's I've had! After our meal my husband had to get back to work and I had my daughter with me, kevin grabbed boxes and boxed all my food up for me. I asked him to let me do it but he insisted, he told me "mom's deserve a break too" and that really hit home for me. I have reviewed Tomato Brothers several times over the years, but this last visit would be an exception to my regular review. Our server, Sebastian, was an exceptional and caring waiter. You can tell that he is personable and is well trained. He took care of our concerns and basic needs as we dined on their famous mostaccioli and chicken parmigiana. The Caesar salad was really delicious with just enough dressing not to overpower the salad and with extra parmesan cheese per my request excited my taste buds. I watched Darryl, our adjacent waiter, assist a wonderful group of ladies celebrating a birthday, He too showed an exceptional professional demeanor that displayed the high-quality Tomato Brothers has for their guests. Zach, the manager on duty was exceptional supporting his staff with helping serve dishes. I have chatted with Zack before and I enjoy his sense of pride in this place but some other employee who I won't expose asked if I did a review to actually tease Zack by telling people that he was an "obnoxious boss," in pure jest of course, but I laughed and said I might do it just for fun. Zach has a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed my last review a month ago. Zach, forgive me. But I want to stress something that occurred that reinforced my high regard for this staff. As I was washing my hands in the bathroom, I didn't realize I was really coughing. A gentleman walked out of a stall and as he approached asked if I was okay. He knew I was coughing a lot possibly by a much-needed upcoming abdominal surgery I needed. He was truly concerned. "Could he get me anything?" "Did I need help?" Understand, I am a former EMT, and I was a little taken aback in a good, surprising way because it was usually me trying to assist others in need with these questions. I thanked him and said I was okay. I then told him to have a great meal thinking he too was dining here. He looked my way with a pleasant smile and said that he worked in the back kitchen. Chris introduced himself to me. I asked him for permission to mention him in this review. He was hesitant. He asked if he needed me to take a photo, I declined because I want to protect him and others from having their photo misused on the internet. Chris finally agreed. Chris expressed an unselfish concern for my safety and health. He simply worked the back helping the cooks and anyone else back behind the counter. Chris exemplified like Sebastian, Darryl and Zack with the others working the shift, what it means to be an outstanding and exceptional employee. I love dining here. I tease managers Tom and Kenny (and Zach) for being Santa and that they are always on my good list. Tomato Brothers is a gem among the Livingston County eateries. Easy access from I-96. First time here yesterday. Did not know it existed.12 of us met at 1 pm for lunch. We were told it would be about 30 minutes so we waited. This place was packed. We watched at least 4 groups of 8 or more leave and just as many get seated . And that doesn't include all the 2 and 4 tops. Servers and staff were busting their butts but everything seemed to be going smoothly. Our server was Jodie and she did a great job. Very organized and attentive. She got all of our orders taken very quickly and they were all correct when we got them. No small task for all the orders going back to the kitchen. And kudos go out to the kitchen staff also. Had to be hot and heavy back there. So apparently this place is known for its breadsticks. And rightfully so. They are lightly seasoned and reminded me of the dried breadstick you can buy in the store size wise. They come out warm and I never put butter on them. Very very addictive. Some of the best I have had. We all had a variety of entrées and no one complained about a thing. And did I mention how nice it was to have Jodie as a server? The Stromboli were very good with a thinner crust than many we have tried. My Grilled Chicken fettuccine was very good and the portion was enough for two. Tender chicken, perfectly cooked pasta, and a nice tomato based sauce that reminds me of a blush sauce. Could have used a little more as it will get a little dry warming up. Everything was good. 5 stars for food and service. The only con I can come up with is a lack of parking. Not bad if it isn't busy but we had to wait for patrons to leave. My husband's birthday celebration we went here. I chose a mimosa and it was truly just oj. My husband had a beer with orange slices and he loved. We decided to share an Italian salad. My husband felt like there was not enough cheese. They made some cheesy flat bread for an addition. Delish. Also very cold plates. Bonus. The half slab ribs were delish. Every single time I have gone to this place it has been beyond amazing! From the service to the god like breadsticks to the actual food! There is a reason why this place is packed from lunch to dinner always! It's a bit out of the way but 100% worth any detour you may have. I live about an hour away and will come here when I want REAL Italian food, and my #1 place to bring out of town guests! I have never EVER had anything but a perfect meal and wonderful service!
