The food was outstanding but the service was even better! We had Tyler (I hope I am remembering correctly) as our server and he was training a younger waiter. Right off the bat he asked us to give the kid a hard time and we definitely did!! To his credit, the rookie took our abuse and ridiculous questions with a smile and we finally admitted we were just messing with him!! THE BEST THING ON THIS MENU IS THE RANCH!!! I apologize for shouting but it is that good! We purchased a quart to go. Somehow Tyler figured out how much we like the ranch, and he gave us two bowls of it and even put a straw in it for me!! (His turn to mess with us at that point). If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I would also recommend getting there early because it is super popular. read more

This restaurant is pretty good. It isn't the best Italian food, but a nice spot to go. I have to say my favorite part was definitely the breadsticks. They were delicious! They give you great portion sizes on all food including salads, soup and main entrees. The Chicken Marsala was a bit sweet for me, but I still enjoyed it. Incredible food. Large portions, fresh salads. We were seated quickly despite being a party of 14. Our waiter was Sebastian and he was fantastic. Our appetizers came in short order, hot and delicious. Drinks were refilled without having to ask. Our dinner orders were delivered all at once to the right person ( not standing at the end of the table asking who had what since some waitstaff don't trouble to remember orders). Disclaimer: I used to work here I love Tomato Brothers! The breadsticks alone are enough to keep me coming back to this place every time I visit Howell, Michigan. They also have amazing freshly made greek salad (I always forget to have them axe the beets which I detest), mushroom soup, and my entree is almost always the lasagna. I have eaten in and ordered from Tomato Bros. for 15 years. I ordered a pizza, breadsticks and an Apple Orchard Chicken salad. I must say the quality of the food has definitely diminished.. The pizza crust had no flavor, consistency of cardboard. I could not locate any pizza sauce and had very little toppings. Very disappointed. read more

The husband and I stopped here after a weekday afternoon shopping trip at the Tanger Outlets. We were seated after a five-minute wait. Their menu is extensive with a focus on Italian foods. Our server was friendly and when we mentioned we'd never been there before, she made sure to mention the specials for the night. I was torn between the lasagna and the chicken Parmesan. She said they're both very popular but she prefers the chicken Parm, so that's what I went with. Jacob went with chicken ravioli from the special menu. Our starters -- minestrone soup and a house salad -- were good, although we both favored the phenomenal minestrone soup over the typical salad. And the breadsticks? Man, you guys weren't kidding. They were served hot, buttery and salted. So delicious. It was hard to stop myself from filling up on the stuff, but it'd be very easy to do so! Our dishes were good, although I didn't like the sweetness of their meat sauce. The chicken Parm was good (it could use more seasoning) but really, the sauce did it in for me. Generally, I'm not a fan of sweet tomato sauces, so that is the major downfall of this restaurant. Jacob's chicken ravioli was delicious and we actually ended up trading dishes because his had a different, more savory sauce. Overall, Tomato Brothers is a nice restaurant with many menu choices for all different types of eaters. I will mention there were TONS of children there, making the place a bit loud and hectic, so don't visit expecting a soothing dinner experience. Every time I have visited this restaurant, I walk away pleased with my selection of restaurant choice and entree. I always get Italian food here in spite of the owners being from Greece. Fresh bread sticks arrive at the table delicately swabbed with garlic butter. Had the baked mostaccioli with meatball, meat sauce, and Italian sausage. It was great and would order it again. I have seen Tomato Brothers from across the street while coming home from the outlet mall and always wondered what it was. Well, the other night, my sister, her boyfriend, his daughter and I went there to celebrate my birthday. The place was packed -- people waiting everywhere. But, they obviously know that this happens, and they had plenty of room to accommodate the crowd. We waited about a half hour before being seated. My sister's boyfriend and his daughter went on & on about how good the breadsticks are -- and they were right! We also got the garlic butter (or perhaps it was cheese -- I'm not sure which it was) to go with it, and it was really good, too. There were a couple problems. First, my sister's boyfriend wanted clam chowder, which was listed on the specials menu for the evening, but they were out of it. The waiter's explanation was "Well, we make it on Fridays, so whatever's left is all we have on Saturday." Then, I ordered the beef stroganoff. A few minutes after placing our order, the waiter came back and said, "I have some bad news for you. The last serving of the stroganoff just left the kitchen." I ordered the grilled chicken fettucine alfredo provencal instead. Because of these incidents, my sister's boyfriend asked to speak to the manager. He was very nice, but said again that the soup is made on Fridays. He told my sister's boyfriend if he wanted the clam chowder to call & ask to speak to him, and he'd put some aside. He was not apologetic about running out of stroganoff because it was a special. It was 7:30 on a Saturday night, which is not late. They really should have planned better, or not put these things on the menu and instead, just have the servers tell diners about the choices so as not to disappoint people. All of that said, the food was really good. The salads were generous, with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and onions. My sister ordered the Tomato Brothers mostaciolli which probably could've served 4! Her boyfriend had the vegetable stromboli, which was 2 generous size vegetable-stuffed breads. His daughter had the 1/2 lemon chicken, which came with green beans and mashed potatoes and was also generously sized. My chicken fettucine was also a very large portion -- I ate it for 3 meals! And I love that it had broccoli and mushrooms in it. For dessert, we shared a piece of plain cheesecake with strawberry pie filling on it. Again, very generous in size. Even after 4 of us ate it at the restaurant, I still got 2 more servings out of it! The prices are amazingly reasonable, and the food is good. My only complaint really is that they seem to not plan very well for what they will run out of. I will definitely go back if I am in the area again. read more

I wish I could give it a higher rating...the food was very good and the service was excellent...and you have a mandatory mask policy posted on the doors as folks come in...but a party of at least six came in ahead of us and three weren't wearing masks...and you did nothing. So if you can decide to not enforce your own policy, we have to wonder if there's anything else you've decided to not do? We want you to succeed, and we know it's been tough, but if you have a policy, you need to enforce it. I understand that your staff aren't 'bouncers' and you can't make people follow the rules, but you can do this: seat them and don't serve them unless they mask up. They won't stay and possibly infect your customers and/or your staff, you won't have to close down again to disinfect the place, and maybe the maskless will think twice about not wearing one again. That's what I'd do. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason. No shirt, no shoes, no mask, No Service. Exercise that right,and we'll be back. read more

Good service, decent food, overpriced offerings, in a nutshell. They do have an awesome Caesar salad. It seems like such a simple salad, right? But so many places get it wrong! Not this place, definitely order it if you end up here, the dressing is in perfect ratio with the crisp romaine, nice amount of shredded parm on top. Delish! Chicken piccata is REALLY lemony. They go soft on the noodle side with it so not much there to soak up the sauce except the chicken. The chicken parm was okay, pretty thick cutlet, fyi. I prefer a thinner cutlet but that's just me. It's not great but it's good. Breadsticks need butter, couldn't taste any garlic on them. Probably the biggest turnoff for me was ordering a side of ranch & being charged $2 for it! RIDICULOUS. And it's a watered down ranch. A head's up from the waitress would have been nice. I know inflation guys, but $2? That's where I feel owners are being greedy and why I will never come here again. Was in the area to sky dive and decided on this place for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised! We started with the calamari appetizer , It was DELICIOUS! It had a caper butter sauce with sautéed sweet peppers, banana peppers and onion. It was also cooked to perfection. Then the Greek salad was perfectly dressed and fresh. Rounded out our meal with the veggie pizza with no cheese. The pesto was very flavorful and the crust, yummmmmm! We sat at the bar and a blond lady took amazing care of us. Truly wish I had written down her name as I would defiantly like to give her a shout out. Hopefully the good tip showed how much we enjoyed her attentiveness and knowledge of the menu.
