It's soooooo good!! The portion size and customer service is also a plus. There was a group of 3 sitting at the bar and a table was open and the waiter had them to go sit at the table to open up more spots at the bar. I appreciated that as a solo diner.

Tomizo Ramen was so good. The server was nice and welcoming. Tried the Taco Tuesday curry chasu tacos (2 for $5). Cheesy with a nice kick and rich flavor. Got the miso ramen with mild spice, comforting and satisfying with a perfect soft-boiled egg. Also tried the special Tomizo ramen (only 5 serves a day). Strong garlic, rich broth, and thick noodles. The gyoza was good too, especially in the tartar sauce.

They're open late! Thank goodness for late night joints. A long day at work equals trying to find dinner with a hope and a smile! We've ordered delivery in the past. This was our first dine-in experience. We weren't the only ones eating a late dinner! We ordered to share: Chicken nanban. They serve it with a tartar sauce of sorts. The flavor is ok but they are a bit heavy handed. Gyoza. Also ok. Also served with the tartar sauce. Also a bit heavy-handed. Next time I will request the Tatar sauce on the side. Spicy miso ramen. We enjoyed it. It was a rainy night and the broth was warm and flavorful. Enjoy!

We came through on a Tuesday. It was very empty only a few people throughout. I got the spicy miso ramen level 1 (was just mild) the charsiu was very tender. The karaage with the curry sauce was awesome! I would love to try to make that myself one day. The special ramen which they serve only 5 per day was very veggie heavy. Personally I wouldn't have gotten it again. But it is very filling so to each their own. The restaurant was small maybe around 25-30 people seating. The service was very good. The waitress was attentive and checked in a lot. I do think we got overcharged since before a certain time it's a free side if you order 2 ramens. But I guess it'll just take a little more time to come back

This place is small You write your name on a list and as people leave they come out check the list and call for you to come in to eat. When we showed up it was full so we waited maybe 20minutes. Service once inside was fast they don't have too big of a menu. Ramen was delicious we added corn aand an egg to the spicy one. Shrimp tempura was perfect The shu mai was interesting, had maybe some rice inside and was sweet which was new to me. I normally love a shrimp shumai. karaage was good pieces were big and not fully coated in the crumbs. Also not picture fried rice it was good. Would definitely come back for the ramen

This was my first time stopping by and luckily I got there early for dinner to try their limited Tomizo Ramen for $15! It's a garlic shoyu tonkotsu base topped with bean sprouts, cabbage, onions and LOTS of garlic which I loved! It's served with a thick flat noodle, and you can add more toppings like a ramen egg if you like. The broth was SO flavorful and it definitely hit the spot on a cold night. The combination of a shoyu and tonkotsu broth makes it umami rich and delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor and a strong taste of garlic which I loved. I wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles since it reminded more of a pasta noodle, but they were still thick and had a great texture. The other ramens on their menu either have a miso or shoyu base, so I'll check it out next time. Definitely recommend stopping by to try this ramen.

The place was cute and clean. They have friendly & welcoming servers. The food are just okay but the egg was so perfectly good!

I have eaten here several times and enjoy their ramen. The spicy miso and miso broth, which is their signature ramen broth, are good. Their tonkatsu soup is okay. In general, their soup is on the lighter side, but still has enough bold flavors to make the overall dish tasty.

Food (5/5): Want ramen but don't live in Little Tokyo? Tomizo ramen is perfect for you. I have only had their Tomizo ramen which they only serve 5 bowls a day. It's super garlicky and a tad bitter from their cabbage. The soup is such a comforting and earthy flavor. The portion size is also gargantuan considering I'm a big eater. I love tsukemen and unfortunately my favorite place in Gardena closed and I'm super excited to try it! Service (5/5): Their food is quick and they are very attentive. I have only been when it hasn't been super busy. Ambiance (5/5): Great for a quick solo bite, to go with a friend, or casual date! Any party bigger than 4 will have issues fitting unless the 5th person is an infant. Price (5/5): Debit & credit card only, FYI! Reasonable prices for great ramen!

Came here for a late Thursday dinner around 9pm and was a little surprised there was a 15-20 minute wait. The seating is pretty limited, so plan ahead if you're coming during peak times. As a tsukemen lover, I had to try their Dipping Ramen. It was solid, but my heart still belongs to other local ramen spots. The broth here was rich and the noodles were deliciously chewy, but it just didn't quite hit the craving for me. My boyfriend ordered the Tomizo Ramen, which is limited to 3 bowls a day. The menu notes it has "a lot of garlic," but that was an understatement. We're talkin' spoonfuls. It overwhelmed the entire dish and made it tough to enjoy. Those who are garlic-obsessed could possibly enjoy it, but it was too much for us. Have to give them bonus points for the Dodger-themed decor. It added a fun, laid-back vibe that made the space feel social and casual.

I drove 20 mins to try this place and was turned away at 11:12. The listing says last seating at 11:30pm. They should update the hours to reflect that so that customers don't waste their time!

Really enjoyed the mazesoba here! The pork version was delicious, but I'd love to see a beef option too -- I live right around the corner so I'm here often and would love more variety to mix things up. Great flavor overall, will definitely be back!

    Japanese Curry Rice with Chicken

I usually order their noodles, but this time I decided to try their Japanese curry. The flavor was good but there was hardly any chicken in it. It was no better than what I can get from a microwaveable instant curry packet at the supermarket. I've voiced my opinion with the server and I will try it again in the future to see if any improvements are made.

10/10 -- We'll Definitely Be Back!…read more I recently tried Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen for the first time with a group of six leaders from my job. One of our coworkers has been coming here for 20 years, so we knew we were in good hands! The menu is EXTENSIVE and can be a little overwhelming for a first-timer, but our waitstaff was amazing--patient, friendly, and happy to help us navigate all the options. And trust me... we ordered! We tried several lunch combos, appetizers, and sides. I had the veggie ramen, and our table also enjoyed the fried green beans, veggie spring rolls, fried rice, and plenty of other goodies. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. What I loved most was the comfortable, no-frills atmosphere. This place has clearly been doing what they do for a long time, and it almost feels like you're eating in Grandma's kitchen--good food, welcoming service, and no need for anything fancy. And PLEASE don't leave without trying the plum wine! We ordered a bottle for the table, and it was delicious. 10/10 for the food, service, and overall experience. Ramen lovers, put this one on your list! We'll definitely be back.

It's a solid meal if you're by yourself. I'm not sure why it's called Yatai but I understand that word is associated with those shop stands that cook food on the side walks. I'm a big fan of food stalls so this bowl of ramen gave me those kind of vibes. I loved it. It was well balanced and the noodles were delicious! The side of curry was delicious too! The ramen came with half an egg, and a slice of chashu. Egg was perfect- not too runny or cooked. Chashu was tender. Really loved this and will definitely come get it again. Fried rice side- really flavorful and tasty. It had some meat pieces and fishcake pieces inside. Gyoza - got the kurobuta and garlic flavor. Unfortunately this fell short of my expectations as the top of the skin wasn't crispy at all. The filling was juicy, but had a bit too much ginger taste to it.

The type of spice where I can still enjoy my food and not have to worry about eating it through hiccups or anything like that. I also had a side of the spicy katsu cutlet, which I also enjoyed very much. They brought me one big piece of chicken katsu and some scissors to cut it up, which I thought was neat. We ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Yamadaya Ramen, and the Katsu Curry Bowl. The portions were beyond generous and the Katsu Curry Bowl was exceptionally large - would be great to share. Perfect amount of spice in the Tonkotsu; the broths for both were silky, light, but deep in flavor. Another Yelper gave a shout out to the Shrimp Temura roll and it was delicious. The gyoza was decent. Service was quick and focused, and the waitress was very pleasant.

I enjoyed the chicken thigh meat texture more than the chicken breast, but I loved the seasoning of the chicken breast with shiso pun and chicken breast with wasabi. The yakitori was made fresh in front of me, and all of them had a nice smoky and griled flavor with a variety of seasonings. It took a while for our first few orders to come out, probably because they had just opened. Great casual spot for yakitori; I would recommend getting here early!

We've tried quite a few yakitori places, but honestly, this one is hands down one of the best!! This time, we also decided to try their ramen--and oh man, it was SO delicious! The noodles were perfectly al dente, and the broth had great body, depth, and that punch of umami that brought everything together. Definitely a must-try! As always, the servers and cooks were super friendly, attentive, and professional. Another great meal at one of our favorite spots!

YUM! I mean these…read morewere not cheap, but LOOK at the portion. if I wasn't dancing the night away at Gardena Obon this night, I would've saved half for lunch the next day. I still had some leftovers, though. sashimi were thick cut pieces, needed 2 bites per piece to eat. beef teriyaki: get it. even if you JUST get this, get it. I knew something was up when my mom AND sister both ordered some kind of combo, but my sister called dibs on my mom's as soon as she said she was going to order it. this led me to ordering my own beef teriyaki combo. oyakodon was classic and hit everything just right, the cheapest of the entrees but just as filling. love it here!! will be back soon

The wife and I checked this place out recently. I ordered the tempura and beef combination while…read moreshe got the tempura and sashimi combination. I got to try items from not only my plate, but hers as well. The food was hit and miss. The beef teriyaki, which they cooked exactly to the doneness I requested, was incredibly good. The steak was tender - the teriyaki sauce was spot on. I also liked the macaroni salad which was hiding behind the lettuce. However, the sashimi and tempura missed the mark. While the slices of sashimi (e.g., tuna, salmon, and yellow tail) were fresh, they were cut way too thick. The assortment of tempura tasted good, and was crunchy, but was battered way too heavily. It felt like the batter was the focal point of the dish instead of the vegetables and shrimp, which I could barely taste. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive even though the restaurant was packed with people. The food and drinks came out fast. They served our sodas in chilled mugs, which was a nice touch. I didn't enjoy the fact that it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant (it was hot that day). I don't think the AC was running. However, I won't count this against the establishment since the server stopped by our table to apologize about the warm temperature in the room. Some final thoughts about this place. -We came right at opening. The place filled up pretty fast. -There was plenty of parking behind the restaurant. -If this restaurant had executed the small things more effectively, as opposed to focusing on preparing the food quickly, this could have easily been a five star write up.
