The presentation was great, but when I got the bill I saw a $12 up charge for "a la mode." Mind you, I did not order Creme Brulee a la mode. I ordered Creme Brulee. $12 for a scoop of ice cream I did not order. 2: They screwed up my wife's espresso martini by putting Baileys in it when she specifically ordered it without. It was still good and my wife said she was willing to drink it. The waiter realized the mistake and had a new one made, but he probably should have just left the drink instead of tossing it. Why waste a perfectly good drink? This is a minor pet peeve, but it added to feeling nickel and dimed. I paid my bill and tipped 20% without a word about any of this. I just don't think I'll be back here. The ambiance was nice, but overall Insignia is all style with middling substance that will make you feel like they squeezed every penny they could out of you.

Love Tomo Sushi, thank god they are in Smithtown where the restaurant choices are severely limited. For take out they are top notch, quick and always right in the money. I eat there once a week for a few years and they have never gotten an order wrong. Sometimes we dine there and it very cozy not like the huge and noisy hibachi places. To top things off, the red bean tempura ice cream is my go to and a special treat every time I come -- don't knock it til you try it! So yummy. I've been coming here for years having grown up right across the street from it, and it is a staple answer of "where should we eat?" On a regular basis. Definitely worth checking out!
