Richard was quick to show up to assess the situation usually same day when I called in the morning or the following day if I reached out later in the day. He's provided an honest assessment and has told me when the fix was too expensive and didn't make sense to repair and has also diagnosed the situation and repaired the issue when it was something minor and cost effective. Richard has a great attitude, is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what's going on even when it can be extremely technical. I've used several appliance repair companies in the past but what sets Richard apart is he assesses the situation and replaces not only the component that's in question but also any secondary parts that are due to wear out soon so that you don't have to keep calling for repairs. When I told him I just got the motor replaced for my dryer 3 years ago, he was surprised they didn't also replace the rubber belt that was clearly deteriorated, the drum bearing and some other parts that were on its last legs and relatively inexpensive to replace. I've got Richard on speed dial and will be giving him all of my appliance repair business moving forward. Highly recommended.

The technician didn't answer his phone very professional and I had to be like um is this appliance repair? He came two days later looked at the dryer for 2 mins (I sent a video prior) and told me I might as well just buy a new one because it will probably almost as expensive to fix. Then my refrigerator- the machine isn't working, he opened it and looked in and said it's outside his scope because if he takes out the ice maker he might break it. Then he charged me $80 for the visit and told me he wouldn't charge me for the refrigerator. Excuse Me? It was like he was doing me a favor, the guy was in my house less than five minutes. It rubbed me the wrong way and I don't know if this was just an easy $80 bucks for him to show up and leave. A few weeks later I called a different appliance repair when my fridge was leaking. He fixed the issue and told me the model refrigerator I have historically has an ice machine go out and to just google brand ice replacement and purchase it and he could install it. Wow- so Much more helpful. I wouldn't call this company again.

Had a replacement on hand, pulled out the old one but found pretty severe scorcing on the board. Pulled the unit out from the wall and tested the compressor and found it to be faulty. A new circuit board would only burn out and a new compressor was taking me into the big $$$ repair range. At this price point and age of the unit, both Daveand i agreed I am probably better off with a new unit. He then spent another 15 minutes offering excellent tips and points on what units I should be looking for and why. Excellent service and I will keep his info close at hand if/when any other appliances need repair.

The technician determined I had bad coils, which is what google told me, changed them and put everything back together. There was no way I would have been able to correctly re-assemble the dryer so the cost was well worth the wait time and the service itself. 2 weeks later the dryer is doing the same thing, I call, a couple of days later he comes out again and finds that one of my thermostats is broken, he repairs it free of charge and only charges me for the part. Jim-Co is literally a mom and pop operation. You call a landline phone and chances are you get an answering machine. The message tells you when they expect to have a break in service (it could be a week or so), you leave a message and they get back to you to schedule it. For the price, quality of work, and knowing I am supporting a local business - it is well worth the extra time I have to wait.

I used to have a great appliance guy. He retired, so I had to find someone new when my dryer…read morestarted making odd noises. My sister recommended Terry's Service; really, if she can't find something wrong, there's nothing wrong to find. I called kinda late in the day, and got a call back from Colin the next morning. We set up an appointment for the following Monday afternoon. Colin arrived, got a listen to the dryer, removed some of the housing and... there were great gobs of compacted lint in the lint trap. (I clean the lint trap, but this was beyond what I could reach.) He cleaned it out, told me (when asked) how I could keep this clean myself, replaced a screw that held the trap in place (that screw was removed at installation some years back and for some reason never replaced). And he did a nice job of cleaning up the stuff he pulled out of the dryer. Problem solved. My dryer is humming along again, and I'm happy. His charges were reasonable, too, so I'm really happy.

From the moment the technician arrived, he seemed upset that I wasn't there. He then became irritated after learning I had previously asked another company to inspect the appliance. As a paying customer, I have every right to get a second opinion before deciding on a repair. He also questioned how I was going to pay, and when I told him I could pay with cash or card--whichever he preferred--his attitude only got worse. He became loud, rude, and unprofessional before deciding to leave without even completing the inspection. The most disappointing part was that this happened inside my home, in front of my family, including my son. If I remember correctly, his name was Brad (the technician, or possibly the owner of the company), although I can't say with complete certainty. Respect and professionalism should never be optional when you're entering someone's home. Unfortunately, that was completely missing during this visit. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
