It's Good Friday, which means no meat for me and my family. We were on our way home when we saw the grand opening sign on this place. It was just meant to be! The place wasn't too busy when we arrived around 7pm and we were sat right away at a booth. My husband was a little disappointed that there was no liquor b/c they're still waiting on their liquor license. But other than that, we were very impressed with the flavor of their sauces. We ordered 2 lbs of shrimp - (1) lb garlic butter, medium spicy and (1) lb tom's sauce, medium spicy; rice; and garlic fries. The shrimp was juicy and flavorful. It wasn't overcooked or dry; it was perfect. I savored sucking the juice out of each precious shrimp head. I dipped our delicious garlic fries into the sauce in the bag. I even started rubbing the juice off my fingers onto my rice so that I wouldn't waste a drop. To say that I really enjoyed myself is really an understatement. Like many other people, I love Boiling Crab. But I've fallen in love with Tom's Crab Shack now too. I'm not a food elitist, so I'm not even going to compare the two. They are both really good. The servers were pretty nice; a little confused at times, like they forgot to get our waters at first. But I get it, they just opened up and are probably still figuring things out. We also got markers so that we could write on the wall. It was dry-erase, so it was wipeable. I think other people were using permanent markers. I think this place is fantastic, and if your looking for Croel spicy seafood this is the place for concord. There was only another couple, when I arrived, but this place is not a secret because it soon filled in while I was there. Menu is basic, and I like that. Most things are market value, but there was a ton of special combos on a chalk board.. I had the garlic noodles, yummy, and snow crab mild, with garlic butter, which to my delight was this yummy amazing spicy, coating with drawn butter drizzled all over. Also I added the sausage after I place my order because I saw some pass by and it is infact as good as it looked.. Great date place, if your with somebody that likes to get there hands dirty. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat. However over the last six months it has definitely gone down hill. At our last few visits the crab legs were skimpy and overcooked. It's not Louisiana crawfish and on it's own was bland, but dunked in the sauce it was Ok. Better than expected for frozen crawfish. However for $15 a LB it's an expensive "average" boil. The food here is great MOST of the time. The last time we went for my sons birthday the crab did not taste fresh, but that was the first time i had a bad food experience. Service is super slow!! They always have a brand new, non English speaking waitress that doesn't understand anything your asking and they always seem really nervous. My suggestion would be for this place to hire English speaking waitresses because they are the contact with the customer and they have to be able to understand what we are saying. But I love the food so I always come back. Would recommend if you can put up with slow service and a struggling English speaker. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for months and they did not disappoint. Nice ambience, clean and spacious. Friendly, helpful staff. I ordered the fried shrimp and Cajun fries x2, chicken wings, chicken strips and garlic fries, and the shrimp rolls. The shrimp rolls were the best, I'd stop just to pickup an order of those. The ambience was cool, they have lots of big flat screen tv's and they were bumping mainstream music. We ordered the Crab Combo (Alaskan crab, Snow crab, lobster, mini crab, sausages, corn and potato-- and we added a pound of shrimp, but they informed us a little after we ordered that they were out of mini crabs, so they just added more sausage) in Tom's combination sauce (lemon pepper and garlic butter). Never coming back :( I ordered a pound of crawfish and it had a strange odor. Once I tasted it, it was worst than the smell. The crawfish was def spoiled. I do have to say the shrimp and garlic noodles were actually pretty good. I also felt like the ambience was off, it was way too quiet in there. We were told no substitutions for the combo (even though we offered to pay the price difference). Other places like Boiling Crab allows for substitutions. The establishment was pretty clean. I came to eat here with my boyfriend a while back and honestly it's not worth it. When they took our order the lady did not even write it down it seemed as if she just tried to remember everything. Which was weird, but if you have your own ways of doing things that's fine. They didn't ask us if we wanted the shrimp head on or off, therefore I forgot and it was left on. I did ask her to take the heads off and when we got the food back it was cold. For some reason our fries which were served first were the hottest thing compared to the the rest of our food which was not cool. When we tried to eat it oh my gosh it was truly the nastiest thing I have ever seen the shrimp was just filled with poop. I don't even know if that's normal but it was so nasty. All you see is black dump down the shrimp it was like dirt in every single shrimp so we didn't even touch that. It was hard to enjoy out crab since it was all cold. Altogether it just didn't have any flavor. When I came out of the restroom I noticed my boyfriend payed already and it was 123$ and the receipt didn't give the amount of everything. After finding out that there was a local seafood restaurant, I wanted to try it super bad. When I first walked in my first impression was: wow, this looks like boiling crab. Not even "looking like" but is completely identical, with the orange & metal lining with the shark and written wooden walls. It kinda reminded me of the TV show F.O.B, lol. Anyways. We ordered combo #2- where they forgot the sausages. Once we informed them about it they fixed it right away, but the sausages were more like cold hot dogs, bleh! Never been to a crab shack place before but I do love seafood!! Came in on a Monday right when they opened at 3pm. There were about two other customers while we were there. We ordered combo #3 Which consisted of 1lb of shrimp, clams and crab legs. Couple corns, few potatoes and several pieces of sausages. The seasoning and sauce was just amazing. It was piping hot and fresh!! My sister and I went ham on it. We also got the mango fruit tea! It was sweet and refreshing. The staff were friendly and was there to check on us from time to time. Went to Tom's to celebrate my son-in-laws birthday. Had a great meal! This was our second time here - the last visit was right after Christmas. Not sure if they've changed suppliers or what but a few of us commented during dinner that everything tasted better than the first visit! We got one combo with medium spice & another mild combo with the lemon pepper flavors. The mild was perfectly seasoned! They could put 4 corn nibblets instead of 2 & more potatoes & sausages - for $75 bucks a combo bowl ! I think inexpensive potatoes & more than 2 corn nibblets could be thrown in but the crab, clams & prawns were a decent amount so we still got full! We will definitely return! read more

Honestly this place on a empty Saturday around 6pm half restaurant full, food took 20 minutes garlic noodles came 1st and the top was just layered with garlic salt super unsatisfying. Then I ordered Combo#3 expecting hot seafood and good potatoes but all I got was steamed seafood with litterly a bottle of creole seasoning dumped on top. This place was a total scam and waste of 50 dollars. I went in with high expectations of a good seafood boil however i was greatly dissatisfied when I received my food and there was 4 puny king crab legs all of which were overcooked and the corn was super cold and you could tell it was frozen. Keep in mind the fact that this is a 50 dollar meal which gave me maybe 25 bucks worth of crab and a cold corn. If I could give it 0 stars i absolutely would, the waitresses hardly ever checked on us to see what we were doing and would be difficult when trying to put our order in. Also the garlic fries at the beginning were a disaster and overpriced. The garlic was totally cold and the fries had a old taste to them. First time going, and it'll definitely be the last. There were less than 15 people in the restaurant eating dinner when I went with my boyfriend (that's including us) and it seemed to have a very slow energy. It was hot and musty in the restaurant, which we then realized was due to a broken AC. Still, no fans on and no ventilation. There were three girls that looked like teenagers who were basically running everything, and by the look and feel of the service we got, they were probably cooking the food themselves too. As soon as we walked in, we were told to seat ourselves wherever, which I didn't mind. But then we waited a good 10 minutes before any one of them brought us a menu to look at. She didn't even bother to offer any drinks. A different girl then came by about 10 minutes later and asked to take our orders for food (still disregarding the drinks). We ordered our food, then I had to remind one of them that we still haven't been offered drinks. And I hate to admit it but when I ordered an alcoholic drink, I took out my ID thinking she needed to check it and she said she didn't need to see it. Mind you, I just turned 21 and look like a 13 year old little girl when I don't wear makeup, which I wasn't this day. BIG YIKES! The food finally came. We ordered combo #3 which consisted of shrimp, king crab, mussels, sausage, corn and potatoes with the mild combo seasoning. We also ordered a side of the lobster tail with the same seasoning. The crab was big, but it didn't taste fresh. The shrimp seemed undercooked as the shell didn't peel off good on a few of them and some were still on the chewy side. The mussels were bitter. The potatoes were also VERY undercooked. The lobster was the only decent part of our order of food, but the seasoning made it bad. It was as if they mixed a gallon of oil with Old Bay, Garlic and the lemon pepper seasoning. It was so heavy on the stomach that we couldn't finish eating it. AND it was room temperature warm, not freshly cooked warm. On top of that, the most important tool in any restaurant like this, we weren't given crab crackers!!!! Just old office scissors. The crab was super hard to crack too. As for the rest of our service, we were never checked up on. We finished our waters and they never came to refill them. When I walked to the bathroom to wash my hands since they also don't provide wet towelettes, all three girls were on their phones up at the front giggling and eating a burger and other food that looked like they don't offer there. One of them was on Snapchat recording what they were doing. When my boyfriend got up to go wash his hands, he said they left the girls bathroom door open and all three girls were in the bathroom taking pictures with the mirror in there. We were never brought our checks either. They seemed like they really didn't want to be there and showed that they didn't care for their customers as they should of. Not once did I see a different face from other staff (cooks, buss boys, management/owners). This place needs to go under a complete transformation, starting with management and ownership of the restaurant following with their staff. This was the worst $100 I've ever spent on food. If the food was decent i wouldn't even bother writing such a negative review. If the service was better then it would of made up for the poor quality of the food as well. How are the food AND the service both complete trash??? I had good expectations coming here since we were trying something new and I only wish I could go back to actually read the reviews and stick to eating a Rockin Crawfish instead, which is right across the street. I have worked in the food industry. I work in management currently, so I understand the frustrations that can come from starting a new business and making it a great one, but whoever this lazy owner is needs to just sell the place and find another way to invest his money in. I've been to this place a handful of times. We came here for valentines on a whim (since we celebrated the night before). I forgot how slow the service is here. Also, they are sold out of Dungeness crab and clam chowder. They seem to always run out of food because my coworkers and i came here randomly on a weekday for lunch and there was a sign on the door that said something about running low on inventory, so they were closed. Anyways, this place is good to go to every so often. I wouldn't consider this my first Cajun spot choice, but it's just the closest to my house. We ordered combo#2 with 2 lb shrimp, 1 pc lobster tail and some sides(toms combo flavor and medium spicy) and that was definitely enough to 2 people to eat!! One thing I have to say that the sauce were soooo perfect to me and my friend. The staff was really friendly to ask us if the food were good and if we need to refill the drink.
