Fast service and great food! It took about 15 mins for the food and I was skeptical about it because of the short wait but the fries were crisp and good, fish cooked and delicious! My husbands favorite was the salmon, mines was the halibut! Cod wasn't bad either but we both ranked the cod last. The clam chowder seemed watery but it wasn't it just had to be stirred as the ingredients were at the bottom. Chicken tenders were good not too dry. Such an easy spot to miss but a great spot to stop it lives up to the title, the fish and chips are phenomenal; some of the best I've ever had! The portions are smaller so if you are hungry just get more! But absolutely worth it. The fish is fresh and the fish to breading equivalent is beautiful neither one overpowers the other. Make sure to add the lemon the tang lifts the fish flavor a little and makes the dish less dense. It is not greasy or heavy a perfect balance. No sauces needed. read more

I have no idea how this place has a rating over 3. I gave them a 2 because the staff was friendly. My husband ordered the prawns and chips and I honestly think the "prawns" were from a premade frozen box. Each one looked identically square and uniform. My shrimp Caesar had tiny salad shrimp with absolutely no flavor and a watery sour tasting dressing. No croutons, and a few tiny shreds of Parmesan. We were so grateful Tom's was open during our recent beach visit! I let them know we had a big family group, and Haley helped us arrange tables outside and even grabbed extra chairs. How good is their fish and chips? We were in Cannon beach for 3 days, and decided to do our lunch twice here! They just have the best cod and chips I have ever had. Thing with Fish and chips is, its hard to go wrong and its equally hard to stand out - they have pulled off the latter. During our 2 lunches, we got cod and chips, prawns and chips and the Fish tacos (they use cod). Cod and chips was the runaway winner with a lightly breaded cod, which was moist inside. The breading was just perfect, with the right flavor. Also, you could hardly feel that it was deep fried - literally no oil on the fingers. The fries it came with very good as well, definitely one of the better ones I have had. The overall package just felt right and a 3 pc cod and chips is going to make you full - they do not cut down on fish and each piece was palm sized. Coming to Prawns - it was average. I would likely pass the prawns. They used panko breading on it and a total of 5 pieces left me little hungry. Next - Fish tacos, really really good. Felt very fresh, good portion of fish inside each taco, but again, if you are in a fish and chips shop - better order that fish and chips! I am going to be here everytime in Cannon beach! read more

If you like the breaded fish from Costco then Tom's will satisfy you. Believe it or not we come from Central Oregon, far from the coast, and the fish in our Fish and Chips is generally 1 inch thick or more, flaky, and juicy. The service was good and friendly and the location on the Main Street is easy to find. I really have nothing else to say, however I am limited by this app which requires a minimum of words. Not sure how long I'll have to keep typing to satisfy the requirements. They really have made this arduous and extremely boring. Yum! This spot is the absolute best. I was lucky enough to walk in when there was not a wait. I got the fish tacos (mostly cuz everyone else said they were amazing!), the Caesar salad (because I'm a sucker for a good Caesar) and the clam chowder. The fish tacos were delicious! They were great size and tasted ultra yummy. They were also very reasonably priced. Nommmmmm. The chowder was delicious. It tasted really good. It was a little chicken than I like my chowder typically and I would've loved a couple more clams but overall I would order it again. The Caesar was so yummy! The dressing was amazing. Awful food and terrible service. This was a bad choice for lunch on an otherwise pleasant Saturday afternoon in Cannon Beach. If you order clam chowder, the first they do is put it on a your order pickup tray to get cold while other items are being prepared. After that the soggy fries are added and then possibly the worst burger ever comes next and your order is ready for pickup. After one bite of the burger, I returned it to the counter - it was cold, the bun cold and untoasted with the only other thing on the burger being about 1/4 cup of combined ketchup and mustard with a pickle. I've complained about food at a restaurant maybe once or twice in my 54 year life, I never do this but I guess this was a special occasion. The young man at the counter was rude and refused a refund. I suggested a better burger could likely be found at Mc Donald's and he started to suggest I should go there. Amazing. Lastly, while not serving up lousy food, the staff in the "kitchen" and the young man who "helped" me were laughing at a video they were watching on a smartphone. I get it, it's a Cannon Beach tourist trap that no local would ever go to, but it was awful. We live in Oregon, go to Cannon Beach regularly, but never here again! read more
