Really great pizza! We got half cheese and half pepperoni and loved it. The large pizza was HUGE! My husband and I got three meals out of it. (With 2-3 slices at each meal). They prepared the pizza in an average amount of time for a pizza shop, and the workers were friendly. They have TVs inside and a few sit-down booths. They used very good ricotta cheese which brought the pizza to another level. The topping were really fresh and tasty. One of the best pizza places in Rochester. I'm here on my lunch break a lot. Their pizza is fantastic, but it doesn't stop there. Their subs, their calzones are excellent, and their wings are great. I've been on a big chicken parm sub kick lately and theirs is so good. The chicken wings are cooked perfectly and the sauce has the right flavor and consistency for a good wing. I go back and forth over Tony Pepperoni, they have decent pizza, crust is a bit thinner than I like and the sauce is nothing awesome. The toppings seem to be pretty quality though. They have a few lunch specials that range from $6-$8 or so including 2 slices of pizza a cookie and a coke and they do have a frequent member card, buy 6 slices and get 1 free. Not a bad place to stop by for lunch, but still just doesn't wow me. I keep going back hoping that I judged to critically and I'll say again, they're pizza is not bad. I wasn't struggling to get my lasagna(no noddles) slice of pizza down today. But maybe the ricotta could have been spread a bit thinner or maybe a little more garlic in the sauce. I wish I knew what it was. I will say this, as far as putting them up against a chain, Papa John's might give them a run for their money since they have garlic sauce but everyone else is a distance second. A decent place for lunch or to take a pie home to the family. Not the best prices. Monday and Tuesday's they run a large pizza take our special for $9, no toppings. I can walk a block and get a bigger Little Caesars for $5 though. And a medium from Big deal with wings and a coke for $14 so a $9 special is hardly winning me over here. Haven't tried any of their subs or calizones. Didn't see a fryer so I'm guessing wings are baked which is OK but usually means they come partially pre-cooked which is blech. Plus their menu is written in hand and covers like 2 walls in a corner and it isn't easy to follow. I enjoyed my Mexican pizza, not quite how I would make it but tasty nevertheless. Country sweet wings and honey garlic Parmesan wings were delicious! And came dry, not sauce all over which is extremely messy and irritating. So kudos on that. Fried dough nuggets were very yummy but I missed the white icing other places offer. After hearing a bit of hype at work we all decided to try out Tony Pepperoni. The pizza was average at best, it did nothing to really separate itself from other local offerings. It wasn't overcheesed as much as others, but the sauce wasn't all that great so that didn't really bring up the rating much. On my first night in Rochester for a business trip I couldn't decide where to go for food so I eventually settled for picking up a pizza. After checking out Yelp reviews for the local pizza spots, I decided on Tony Pepperoni. Based on the pictures posted with the reviews, I went for a buffalo chicken pizza, and it was everything a pizza should be. The crust was perfectly crispy-chewy and had a great flavor. The buffalo sauce had the right amount of heat and a really good flavor. They also didn't skip on the chicken. I would say the only thing that could've made the pizza better for me is a drizzle of blue cheese dressing. I got my pie to go so I didn't fully experience the restaurant, but the staff was friendly. Also, I was told around 25 minutes for pick up, but when I got there in 15 my food was done. They have delivery too! If I ever make it to the Rochester area again, I will definitely be hitting up Tony Pepperoni for some pizza. read more

Their toppings are fresh, they even do taste tests to compare cheeses and their pepperoni to ensure they are serving their customers only the very best! They make fresh dough, sauce...everything! Their wing sauce is the best out there! The owner knows how to build rapport with his customers, it truly is a family pizzeria! Any shop you go into the slices are better than the pie you pick up. I found Tony Pepperoni due to a late night. It had been one those long days of work in an unfamiliar city when I got this pizza craving. I checked out their website because of their reviews and proximity to the hotel I was at. I ended up ordering a half - Peter's Chicken Bacon Ranch - and half - ham&pineapple - pizza. This pizza was absolutely delicious! It wasn't greasy. It had the right amount of thickness and bubbles-in-the-crust. Everything tasted fresh and the service was extremely fast. I have tried too many times to like this place, and I just can't do it anymore. Please know the people are very nice, but the food just isn't good. The pizza is very doughy(not cooked all the way) and the sauce is really just a bland tomatoey paste. Asking them to add more sauce or just cook it longer for you is met with disdain. Interestingly enough, the rating I planned on giving Tony Pepperoni gradually declined as I progressed through my meal. I had been crazing some pizza and had a coupon for pizza and wings for this joint so I figured, why not try out something new. Starting off with the first wing I munched on, I was pleasantly surprised. Quite Tasty! 2nd wing..mmm still good. But by the 4th one, I dunno, maybe it was cuz my hunger was being satisfied, I just began to think of the wings as decent, acceptable. Onto the pizza. Crust was wayyyy too chewy. I honestly don't think I've ever had a pizza with crust that had the consistency of chewing gum. Perhaps the dough was overmixed? Other than that the sauce and cheese were fine. Prices were reasonable, only given that I had a coupon. So in line with what the ratings are supposed to mean (3 stars = A-OK) I would have to say, that's what this meal was. Would I go back? The wife and I were in town staying down the street in the RIT Inn. Drove down to order and pick up a medium sausage pizza and a couple of sodas. Took about 15 minutes and was only $16. The guy who made it was friendly and gave us all kinds of plates and napkins because we were taking it back to the hotel. The pizza was delicious! Great flavor and the crust had a good crunch. Thicker than NY style but not Sicilian. We didn't eat in-house but the place had a lot of booths. Slight knock is the place looked older and could use a floor mopping. Pontillo's-style pizza but on steroids. The owner's family ran a famous local bakery. A good quality bread is the foundation of all good pizza and Tony's gets it right. Hits the yummy spot that most pizzas fail to hit. Crispy crust on the bottom with a good chew and taste. Simple sauce with lots of oregano. And a full-fat cheese that melts into the sauce, instead of becoming rubbery. Small spicy pepperoni that cups with little brown edges when slightly well done. Like all pizzerias, it sometimes depends on who is working that night. But even a mediocre Tony Pepperoni pizza is better than most of the competitors because of their excellent ingredients and quality process. There are other great pizzas in town, the Pizza Stop is one. They have the best New York style crust. But Tony's just tastes better. We have been driving way, way across town to get this pizza since about 2004. And we will continue to because it is our hands down favorite in Rochester. read more

I ordered a sweet and sour chicken pizza thin crust. It seemed pretty thick for a thin crust which I didn't enjoy. The chicken tenders they use are tasty and makes for a yummy pizza with the sauce. Pretty good food for the price so I will deff order again and try something else! read more

Haven't tried the pizza, but the hot Buffalo wings are among the best along I-90, maybe some of the best outside Buffalo anywhere.
