Work was buying lunch, so I decided to give this place another try after my previous 3-star experience. Unfortunately, this visit was even more disappointing, and I'd rate it 2 stars. I'd heard a lot of hype about the pizza, but it fell short again. The crust was soggy, the cheese was overly greasy, and there wasn't any of the bubbling or crispness you'd expect from a good pizza. It left a gummy mouthfeel, and the slice had no structure--the cheese and toppings slid right off as I tried to eat it. On the positive side, the garlic knots were decent and probably the best part of the meal. Overall, though, the pizza just wasn't for me. read more

We've been meaning to check this place out for the last couple of years, and we finally got the chance to do so on the quest for good pizza in the JAX area. First of all, this place reminded me a ton of a place from my childhood. To no surprise, the pizza was very similar too! Very crispy crust with the toppings being more on medium side rather than well-done. It was superb. We also partook in the garlic knots as an appetizer. I loved the ambiance of the place. Live music was a nice touch, and it had the feel of being a romantic spot without the high price. As for service, our initial impression was not great. We were told we could sit anywhere and walked to a large table, then told we had to sit at a table meant for two after all. Along with the initial frustration of confusing instructions, it became problematic when you've got an appetizer, pizza tray, and decor all on the same tiny table. It turned out that no one else arrived and the place remained largely empty during the time we were there. Aside from that though, the server we had was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. I've smelled the pizza here every time I come for my coffee next door. I finally decided to try it out for the first time and so glad I did. Family friendly atmosphere with beer and wine available. Leave room for dessert. I highly recommend their fried mushrooms for sure. They are absolutely delicious! I ordered a slice of cheese and asked for crispy crust. It was perfectly heated and the cheese was still melty and gooey. At only $3 per slice, this is definitely an absolute must try while here. The chef is actually from Italy complete with his cooking expertise. That's his scooter parked in front. There's plenty of space for groups and they offer so much more than pizza. My sister got their calzone which was huge. And my brother-in-law got the meatball sub. They offer cold beer by the mug and pitcher if you want to partake. Our server, Regina, was kind, gave outstanding customer service and she was so helpful with suggestion items . Overall, fantastic meal and experience at this local gem in Green Cove. Plenty of parking up front as well as parking in the back. Plenty of takeout, no delivery that I saw; however, perhaps DoorDash. read more

I had a great weekend lunch here with fabulous service! The restaurant is small and cozy -- not fancy, but not run down. My dining partner and I both ordered the eggplant parm subs and side salads. At first, I was a little surprised that the sub didn't come with a side, but when I saw that the price was really reasonable, I was fine with that. The side salads (also reasonably priced) were great. I loved my Caesar salad! The lettuce was fresh, and the dressing was flavorful. My dining partner got a house salad and enjoyed hers -- especially the creamy Italian dressing. We both liked our sandwiches, too. The server and kitchen listened when my partner ordered her eggplant "extra crispy" and noted that when they brought the plates out. The flavors were good overall: the eggplant was seasoned well, the cheese was melty and plentiful, and the bread was soft and fresh. Our server, Ian, was absolutely lovely. He was attentive throughout, kind, and easy to talk to. We'll be back again, for sure. read more

This was our favorite Italian restaurant until today. Decided to have the soup of the day and I was going to split the Chicken Picatta with my daughter. Waitress said NO, you can't share !! Our policy is no sharing. So to our amaze we decided to leave and not patronize this restaurant again. Now we would have spent probbly $50 today so they only got $8. Family not coming in a month $150, year $1800. You can do the math on 5 yrs. I'm not sure it was worth not letting us share that $22 plate of Chicken Picatta? Make good buisness decisions. read more

I am NOT someone that leaves bad reviews. My wife and I came here for years and the food was always alright. The pizzas used to be very good before new ownership. I meant to update this 6 months ago when I had a bad experience with the cashier as well as the cook. I waited for almost 30 minutes beyond the suggested time for a to go pizza. The pizzas were always great and then they started making them soggy or wet. I brought it back just to quietly get a refund as this was the second time I purchased a pizza this way. That was an issue. I had to push for the refund as well as explain it to the cook that did not seem to understand the issue. It has changed completely and I won't be back. read more

Well, this is sad for me. But we been going to this restaurant for over ten years Both stores. Sadly the better one closed in Middleburg. But we drove 20 min to this location in green cove springs. Because of the very good pizza and friendly servers. But!! We were here three weeks ago, staff still friendly. But prices were outrageous. Pizza was OK but not great. Yesterday? We returned. Got largest pizza to go. Again prices are outrageous 4.00 each for pizza toppings? Wow. Worse is the pizza was horrid. Crust cracked like a cracker. Tasteless as was the pizza with hardly any tomato sauce no oregano. Salt etc flavorless bland. Wow! Maybe the chef didn't arrive yet it was 4 30? And someone decided to make this pizza. My aunt loves this place so I had to try it out. I should have taken photos of my food. This place is cute, clean & our food was delicious! I got the lobster ravioli & my friend got the Carbonara! Both were brought out quickly & were delicious! My only complaint was the delicious garlic knots are tiny! I'll definitely be back! Worth the drive! read more

So we always dine local, and support local business. Sometimes my daughter doesn't feel like eating an entire meal so she will share her mom's dinner. The last owners had no problem with this. Actually no one had ever had a problem with this even when we go to a high end restaurant. However we were told by the waitress that the new owners do not allow meal sharing. Even tho we ordered appetizers, salad, garlic knots, drinks and expensive meals. So she had to order a salad and feel like she was doing something wrong by picking off of her mom's plate. Now I know I'm one of many customers. But we were long time customers. I spent over $100 still and tipped well, and that was the last time we will go to the local restaurant. As long time GCS residents, we will share this story with everyone we know and anyone who asks about the restaurant. Sometimes it's not just about the food, but just as much about how good you treat your customers. read more

My husband and I have been eating here once a week for years! NOT ANYMORE! We always ordered the Spaghetti Dinner with Meat Sauce which came with 3 garlic knots and a small salad. Last year, they dropped the free garlic knots. You now have to pay for them. Now, you no longer get a salad either with your meal. You have to pay separately. Last week, we ordered our usual Spaghetti Dinners and paid for the salad and garlic knots. Got home with our meals and they used thin spaghetti(which is much bigger noodles than Angel Hair). The sauce was cut in half of what we normally get and it was so bland!!!! We paid for the garlic knots and salad. The bill was $55 and that's before tip and no drinks. They charged $6 for meat sauce for both meals for a total of $12 just to add meat to the marinara sauce! No wonder the bill was $55!! That's insane. A spaghetti dinner with noodles and marinara is $13 so by adding meat sauce makes the process go to $19.99. Needless to say, that was our last trip. Sad! I know prices have gone up and i'm ok with them raising the price of the dinner as a whole to include the side salad and garlic knots but to nickel and dime you now for what was included ticks me off! read more

It was about a cup and a half of past and 4 tiny meatballs from the kids menu is what we ordered. Well when the check came it was for an adult portion for $11.95 . Kids meal was $4.95 When the waitress was told of the mistake she said that my granddaughter ate it so it's my problem. She was asked to get the manager. When my wife spoke with the hostel so called manager she was very nasty and said to bad because your kid ate it. She was told about how my grandosn had to sit there while we ate she said that this happens in restaurants. She was asked to remove the ranch off of the check and change the rate for the kids meal She spoke to the owner who said to bad because the food was eaten. The so called manager was not helpful and was very nasty. Good luck if you go there . For a place having 3 waitresses and a few tables each there is no reason for slow or poor service . Solid spot for lunch or dinner. Has a very small-town feel inside, which adds to the character of the restaurant. My go-to is their spaghetti with meat sauce. Your meal isn't complete if you don't get garlic knots & a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing too. Overall, a very good small town, hole in the wall Italian spot. My husband and I both got a slice of pizza and it really wasn't even edible. It had sausage on it that tasted like hamburger, canned mushrooms and olives. It was greasy and when you picked it up to eat it it just collapsed and all the toppings fell off. I can get a better $1.99 pizza in the frozen food section at the grocery store. Rude greedy owner wont allow bariatric patients to order from the children's menu so we can spend some time with friends or family at their restaurant. Being there about 4 to 5 times and never got a problem since I carry my Special menu ID. But today, the owner needed to collect more money and he denied me the courtesy. I decided to try this place again, as I try to give places more than 1 chance to woo me-- same exact thing happened except I paid even more.. 20$ for a vegetarian Alfredo. Undercooked noodles, long wait, wrong dressing, and they did not properly seal the container it opened up and spilled--not that it mattered after a few bites I tossed it.
