I should have listened. I read the reviews. This is my own fault. Woefully understaffed. Waited for an hour, then someone's pal drove in to the empty bay and got some emergency work done. The jack got hijacked to pull a tire. Frustrating. That said, once I did get in, the inspection was quick and efficient. Even some spot-on humor directed at my overly complicated car. Id add another star if this place would hire (or at least temp staff) an additional bay the last couple days of each month. Till then, three is fair. read more

*THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS* You have to wait in line along the edge of the road at this place, no big deal. They have a sign to tell you to wipe down your car handles and steering wheel due to Covid19, and they do provide wipes. Got here at 9:50am and waited about an hour with 2 people in front of me. Overall it was fine, got my inspection done, but I think I will seek elsewhere next time- not the friendliest place I have gone and would save time somewhere else. read more

I've gone here for YEARS and the guys are usually so helpful. Today, after waiting in line for an hour, I was failed bc ONE (of 2) license plate light was out, as well as what he called a "daytime driving light"... which, it turns out, is an unnecessary extra light. The employees at CAP (my stop right after leaving) laughed and said "you don't even need that light, it's extra. I've never heard of someone failing for that." I will NEVER go back to this inspection station, and especially not to the new moron doing the inspections. read more

The inspector here is all alone and there's a sign they are looking for help. This guy is sweet personable but exhausted being the only guy here. There is a line of cars down the street. I've waited a couple of days to post this, because this place infuriated me so much. I have never felt so disrespected in my entire life. I went there on Veterans Day to get an inspection sticker. I pulled up and the guy didn't even say hi, he said, "you got the money?" so I said I'll go inside to the ATM. He pulled my truck out with a rejection sticker. I simply walked up to him and asked him, "What's wrong with the truck?". He replied, "No money no papers!". Usually places don't respond this way, they try to help you out and tell you what's wrong with your car during the process, or walk you through the steps. He didn't do this. So I asked again, "Whats wrong with my truck?" He again answered, "No money, no papers!" Right after this, he ripped the $40 out of my hands. I don't take kindly to extremely rude people, so being a veteran, on veterans day I asked him whats wrong with him. He then tried to turn it around on me and yelled at me in a confrontational manner. After a couple minutes of me and him arguing back and forth, he told me my license plate light was out and my engine light is on. Well, yes, my engine light is on because I need a new gas cap. But it never gave me an issue when getting an inspection sticker. Usually they tell me that's what it is and pass me anyway. Not this guy. He just wanted to ruin my day; which he did. read more

Yes I had to wait in line, but so what. You all know how crowded Thai place can get. My car passed inspection but they said this was something they didn't see too often but the DMV put the wrong license plate number on the registration. Now this guys make my blood boil at the DMV. read more

My 63 year old mother is a new resident of Massachusetts and just got her plates and registration yesterday. She went to Tony Tally's for an inspection sticker thinking that they could help her put the plates on. First they rejected her for having a headlight out, which they could have fixed so easily. Second, Tony made my mother use his tools to take the plates off herself! She cut her finger and started bleeding and he seemed to have a smile on his face. What a horrible man and a horrible place of business. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE. read more

Went here for an inspection, got rejected for tint slightly too dark. Instead of taking my money and saying hey the tints too dark I can't pass you he went out of his way to ruin my day by rejecting me. He stood there with a smirk on his face when he gave me the paperwork back and took pride in making me remove the tint and literally being unable to get a sticker anywhere until I do. I know tint's illegal but I spend 98% of my time in a state it is legal and he just did it to spite me. Unprofessional. read more

This guy was all smiles with the woman ahead of me and the woman after me, but when it was my turn it was like a switch flipped and he became gruff and rude. I'm super friendly to everyone I meet, and I especially like to be on friendly terms with local businesses. Nothing worked on this guy. First he snapped at me for not having my registration in my hand (it was on the seat next to me), then he yelled at me for not having a pen to write him a check (even though he had one). At the end of the transaction I still tried to salvage the customer service end of things. Stuck out my hand and said "Hey, thanks very much -- I'm new to the neighborhood -- are you Tony?" He just looked at my hand, said "Nope," and turned and walked away (immediately greeting the next woman as sweet as pie). So I don't get it. Is he intimidated by men? I'm not very intimidating. Maybe he didn't get enough hugs. Whatever. The guy's a huge dick. I wish I had seen the Trump sticker in the window before my inspection -- might have known what sort of manners I was likely to encounter. read more

Never in my thirty eight years of life have I been treated so rudely. When I arrived at the head of the line for state inspection, I began the process of transferring my eight month old son from his car seat to his stroller. As anyone who has kids will tell you, sometimes the process of removing a squirmy infant from his cramped confines can take a little longer than planned. The inspector who was hovering over me the whole time actually had the balls to rudely ask me to hurry up with the extraction of my son from the car....apparently the two cars behind me represented "a line around the block" in his world. Incredulous to his words and his rudeness, I then asked his if he would prefer it if I just yanked the baby from his seat without taking the time to unstrap him first. Instead of just realizing that he was being an asshole, he decided to escalate the situation with more smartmouth and backtalk. Despite his stated concern about moving the line along, he continued to argue with me long after my son was no longer in his way. Finally, I told him he should stop talking to me and just do his job. He then proceeded to threaten to fail my vehicle's inspection before he even examined it. At this point I demanded my money back and angrily called the owner to complain. The owner backed up his guy and told me that I should have never brought my baby to his establishment. So I'm assuming from his words that small children who require a car seat are not welcome at Tony Tally's. You can really get a sense of the true nature of people in how they treat children so Judging from my experience at Tony Tally's is that the people there are pure scumbags who do not deserve your hard earned dollars.
