Whom ever I was talking to about the job refused to trim the trees thinking that it was up to the city. I have lived here since 1968 and the city does not maintain that property. We just had Tony give us an estimate this morning and it involved a slope with many very tall Giant Bird of Paradise, etc., etc. The expert crew were back some hours later and did a remarkable job. Again, as they were last year, very professional and so expert in handling falling, tall greenery and guiding all to where they should fall. Update from previous review.....sigh....well the 4 stars has beem short lived....we discovered portions of four of thr palm trees were still rooted and not removed, grinded and hauled away. We requested Tony and his team to return to finish the job from February and when scheduled they did a no show and when they did show up 2 days later we found tgat not only did they leave piles of debris aroubd our pool and yard but rocks fell into our pool! We contacted Tony with no avail and someone sent me a text from an unknown number and gave no name apologized and advised tgat someone would be out that to clean up the mess. Saturday has come and gone and no one has shown up since. Sent yet another message and was informed that from another no name contact that the contractor contacted us and said they were not picking up the mess they made. This is not okay and when I complained again no response. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this company due to this situation and given the timeline of the projevt this has happened in the past. I don't do many reviews but Tony's has earned one! I called because I had a 40' Redwood tree that was too close to my house and my insurance company was going to cancel my policy. Most important, Tony showed up on time! We agreed on a price to remove the tree. He also offered to take out a fig tree that was pushing on a wall.... and he did it for free!!! His crew started the day Tony said, they were very polite and worked quickly to remove the tree while making sure the roof would not suffer damage from falling branches. They left the place clean and left me some firewood per my request. I will definitely use him again for some palm tree trimming and highly recommend him! He was very reassuring about the tree removals including the thick roots. The price was fair and his crew showed up within 2 hours to begin the job. They cut down three 25 foot trees pretty quickly and it disappeared in the wood chipper. His team used plastic sheeting to cover the windows and stucco. Please read this if you are thinking about hiring Tony's crew for anything outside of tree trimming or removal. I hired Tony for tree removal and he and his team were great. They did the job quickly and cleaned up after. I was so impressed that when I told him I was going to do some remodeling with my landscaping and he got very excited to quote me on it, I gave him a shot. I liked the guy. He was excited to show me some pictures from other jobs he had done and send me his "licenses and insurance" that covers him. My mistake was not looking into what type of licences they were actually for. None of them were for contracting, only tree services. I got 4 quotes and he came in tied with one other contractor. The short story is, He said it would take 3 weeks, it took almost 4 months and he still never finished the work. He continually asked me for prepayment and money until the very last bit. I did not want to give him the money because the job was not complete but he looked me straight in the eye and said "Would I risk my reputation over a few thousand dollars?" I was not comfortable but was feeling very bullied into giving him the money. He never finished the job. After calling and texting over and over again, it was clear he had no intentions of finishing. Then after threatening to sue him he said he would take care of it. Giving me the run around and buying time he just continued to lie about wanting to take care of it. I NEVER got the check he promised nor did I ever get the job done. In the end, I will have to come up with $3,600 to finish the job that was included in my bid. Yes, a very expensive lessen learned. I just don't want anyone else to go through this with him. He is NOT honest. Don't fall for it. As for the actual work he and his poor crew did (I felt sorry for these guys, one guy was like 70 years old!) I don't think many of them had any actual experience doing these types of jobs. I had footprints permanently in my cement, stucco over spray on my fence, the fence does not close properly and the fence posts were various sizes. Tony needs to STAY OUT OF contracting and not lie to future customers about what his capabilities are. read more

Tony took my Dad's money, over $18,000, and still has not finished the job over 3 months into it. One of the largest pieces, installing a safety railing around his entry stairs, is still not done. Tony makes promise after promise and never delivers. If you ask me, he takes advantage of older people by overcharging and under-delivering. And now he's ducking my Dad's phone calls. So my dad's job is not finished, his entry way is unsafe, and Tony is nowhere to be found. Stay far away from this guy, unless you want to end up in small claims court, which is where we may be headed soon. read more

What really impressed me was that for a relatively small residential job on a single tree, they showed up with big guns for equipment.
