Great service and consistently great food. Many options for vegan and vegetarian. Lots of comfortable seating.

I'm a regular here and honestly so proud to be one! I can't believe I haven't shared all its goodness yet! First thing first, everyone here is super nice and helpful. Which it goes a long way so be nice too! Once you become a regular like me! they greet you by name and really make a girl feel loved, and that kind of vibe is everything! This spot is a total family dream! There are tons of arcade games to keep the kids entertained, a fully stocked bar for the adults, and the food? Well let me tell you... it's DELICIOUS and something for everyone. You can go for chicken & waffles, a classic hamburger & fries, or my personal favorite pizza & wings! The food is obviously made my experienced chefs and with lots of love, because everything is mouthwatering good!! So, good people , good energy, & good food! What's not to love?! Oh! Almost forgot they also host fun theme events ! Be sure to check those out!

    Tri tip nacho

We've tried this restaurant 3 times. Food is terrible. We ordered the Brisket burger and the "Brisket" was ALL gristle. We showed the waitress and she was shocked supposedly. Said it definitely should not come like that. Then she walked away. We never got new brisket, an apology or even a discount since we clearly did not receive what we paid for. We also ordered the tri tip nachos. Literally all beans and no cheese. At all. Just massive globs of bland refried beans.

Nice place with relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff with nice and courteous customer interactions. Great tasting pizza, coupon given to me from Houchin blood bank for donating blood. Will be back in the future to try out some other great menu items. Even Tony himself came out said hello, very nice gentleman. Quite cool.

It's been awhile. We had OUTSTANDING service from a waitress we haven't had before. Her name was Sam. Friendly, informative, interactive. We orders 4 side salads. Excellent portions. 2 pizzas Hawaiian and Tony's combo. Pizza were very good. Didn't have to ask for drink refills our waitress Sam was on top of it. Will be looking for Sam the next time we visit.

    Raw Patty Melt

I was a regular at Tony's on 178, I live in the general area. Yesterday 02/10/2026 I stopped at their restaurant for lunch. I asked for confirmation on the roll used for their French Dip sandwich that was on the menu. The waitress confirmed it was a "regular " hoagie roll, I ordered and the sandwich was delivered with some sort of cheese infused bread. I roundly refused the order and asked for a patty melt as a replacement. The new sandwich was delivered and I thanked the waitress for exchanging. The table I sat at had low light (high top bar area). I noticed the sandwich had some red in it. I thought how odd to put tomatoes on a patty melt, but took a few bites anyway. I noticed that the bread was cold and soggy on the bottom. I lit the sandwich up with my I phone and discovered the meat was RAW. I notified the waitress and she agreed hat the meat was indeed raw. I asked for someone in management, she informed me hat no one was available, but they would "comp" my order except for my beverage ( a beer). I wrote my contact info down and requested someone in authority to contact me.... I paid for my beer and left the waitress an excellent tip... the issues were not her fault. I have waited 24 hours. No call. I was ill with "digestive issues" all night. My thought is the cook was mad because I returned the original order. I hope he didn't further taint my food. Sad situation.

It's just so-so. Ordered veggie pizza and it was dry because they hardly put any sauce on it and the bottom of pizza was burnt here n there.

Cobb salad was okay. I thought the chicken were croutons because it was so dry, it was a big salad not worth $20

I had been waiting for over 6 months to try this restaurant as I live in Sacramento and they are in Bakersfield. I was worth the wait. The only issue I had was, they had too much pepper in their gravy. A lot of people enjoy that, but I am not one of them. That didn't to take away from the meal. I just took off the gravy and finished that HUGE chicken fried steak. Then to top the meal off, I had one of the most enjoyable pieces of Carrot cake that I gave ever had. It only cost $5.00 dollars, what a steal. Thank all if those involved in making aour meal enjoyable. David Marks

Around the dining area are a bunch of TV's with all of your old time favorites. That is if you are from the 60's on. I ordered the fish n chips. It came with 3 filets with were friend to perfection. Someone the absolute best I've had in Bakersfield. The coleslaw could've been made by my mom from Georgia. I was a great Southern Slaw. The fries were cooked perfectly. A nice crunch but yet a little soft center. After dinner we had to hit the ice cream. The once Scherbs that was known to be at Brookside by Cal State then City Sandwich has it's home in Honey I'm and has been for a while. All in all it was a great experience and delicious dinner.

I'm pretty sure the waiter was a bit inebriated and I was afraid he was going to drop our food on one of us, especially the long reach of plates full of food! Luckily there were no mishaps. We did have to keep asking for certain things more than once. The food was l decent and they were great on accommodating my wants even though the waiter seemed skeptical that they wouldn't. The ambiance was plain and simple.

Lots of seating, with a little bit of everything going on in the way of decorations. The hours advertised online are NOT their actual hours of business. That needs to be updated. Our waitress was attentive and nice as well. Had there been more people I'm certain she still would have provided the same. As for the food. It was ok. Nothing grand. My husband ordered the fish and chips and it came with a bowl of vegetable soup. The soup was bland and the broth lacked a lot of flavor. Although the pieces of fish were huge, there was little to say about how they tasted. The deep fry was cooked to a perfect crisp, but the fish was mushy and I could see the disappointment in my husband's face. He was also not at all pleased with the coleslaw. It wasn't your typical vinegar/sweet dressed slaw. Something was different in it. Almost like a horseradish taste in the dressing. So, I asked if there was. The waitress asked the cook and they said no, there wasn't. Not sure what it was, but I t did taste different. I on the other hand liked it. But then again, I like horseradish. My order consisted of a chef's salad. When you read the menu and it tells you that it will have bacon and tomato wedges in it you'd think you'd be getting a salad with pieces of bacon and regular size tomato wedges. Nope. My salad came with a strip of bacon on top of it, leaving me to break it into pieces and the so called wedges were two little cherry tomatoes cut in half. The ham and turkey was good. However, cheddar cheese shavings would have been a nice alternative to the Kraft like sandwich singles that were stacked and then cut into long strips. I had to separate them all before I could enjoy my salad. All in all in tasted good, but nothing exciting. Oh! and they have a wide selection of deserts to choose from. None of which we ordered, but they're in a showcase as soon as you walk in. All looked delicious. They also have an ice cream pie kept in the back. The restaurant is nice. The waitress was nice and we had a nice lunch. Was it 5 star worthy. No. It was just o.k. Definitely not going to be our "go to" restaurant.
