    Tri tip nacho

We've tried this restaurant 3 times. Food is terrible. We ordered the Brisket burger and the "Brisket" was ALL gristle. We showed the waitress and she was shocked supposedly. Said it definitely should not come like that. Then she walked away. We never got new brisket, an apology or even a discount since we clearly did not receive what we paid for. We also ordered the tri tip nachos. Literally all beans and no cheese. At all. Just massive globs of bland refried beans.

Nice place with relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff with nice and courteous customer interactions. Great tasting pizza, coupon given to me from Houchin blood bank for donating blood. Will be back in the future to try out some other great menu items. Even Tony himself came out said hello, very nice gentleman. Quite cool.

It's been awhile. We had OUTSTANDING service from a waitress we haven't had before. Her name was Sam. Friendly, informative, interactive. We orders 4 side salads. Excellent portions. 2 pizzas Hawaiian and Tony's combo. Pizza were very good. Didn't have to ask for drink refills our waitress Sam was on top of it. Will be looking for Sam the next time we visit.

    Raw Patty Melt

I was a regular at Tony's on 178, I live in the general area. Yesterday 02/10/2026 I stopped at their restaurant for lunch. I asked for confirmation on the roll used for their French Dip sandwich that was on the menu. The waitress confirmed it was a "regular " hoagie roll, I ordered and the sandwich was delivered with some sort of cheese infused bread. I roundly refused the order and asked for a patty melt as a replacement. The new sandwich was delivered and I thanked the waitress for exchanging. The table I sat at had low light (high top bar area). I noticed the sandwich had some red in it. I thought how odd to put tomatoes on a patty melt, but took a few bites anyway. I noticed that the bread was cold and soggy on the bottom. I lit the sandwich up with my I phone and discovered the meat was RAW. I notified the waitress and she agreed hat the meat was indeed raw. I asked for someone in management, she informed me hat no one was available, but they would "comp" my order except for my beverage ( a beer). I wrote my contact info down and requested someone in authority to contact me.... I paid for my beer and left the waitress an excellent tip... the issues were not her fault. I have waited 24 hours. No call. I was ill with "digestive issues" all night. My thought is the cook was mad because I returned the original order. I hope he didn't further taint my food. Sad situation.

Tony's Firehouse has always been great, from their quick service to amazing food quality.

    Fried chicken salad.

Tony's Firehouse Grill is a great spot. One side of the restaurant is a large pizza area with Tony's outstanding pizza, wings, and salad bar. On the other hand is Tony's firehouse Grill, which offers traditional American fare. Breakfast is served 7-noon. We were there for dinner and ordered the best tritip sandwich ever! On a grilled ciabatta roll, it was piled with delicious meat and Swiss cheese. I enjoyed a wonderful fried chicken salad loaded with deviled egg, olives, red onion, and avocado. It was delicious and enough for two meals! If you like a bar, Tony's offers a full service bar and ice cold beer. There's something for everyone here!

It's just so-so. Ordered veggie pizza and it was dry because they hardly put any sauce on it and the bottom of pizza was burnt here n there.

Cobb salad was okay. I thought the chicken were croutons because it was so dry, it was a big salad not worth $20

Service was fast, staff was pleasant so everything was fantastic! So far, food has been good and I definitely will come back. It's way on the other side of town for me, but it's nice seeing lots of brunch options in Bakersfield these days. Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day, so it's nice to know I have another option. There's lots of parking which is a plus, the other places struggle with parking which makes it hard to visit. Restaurant looks clean, it looks family oriented and they have tons of options for the family. They have tons of tables too, so there's room for everyone. The place stays busy so you know the food is fresh and they keep your coffee cup filled. I'm not sure how long this has been here since I barely visited last year, but if you haven't stopped by you definitely need to check it out.

Breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Dad had been wanting to try this place for breakfast so we made our…read moreway to the east side of Bakersfield. We ordered the following menu options. 1. MAN'S BEST FRIEND Omelette $18.59 sausage, bacon, ham, cheddar & monterey jack cheese. I added diced onions. I ordered the hash brown option and pancake. Per their website, one of their specialties are the "fluffy pancakes". Omelette had decent amounts of diced ham, sausage and bacon. I found this to be an omelette large enough to share. Hash browns were standard. Pancake was okay but nothing truly spectacular, just average in taste. The pancake was oversized enough to share. Overall I gave this a 8/10 2. PAUL BUNYAN $21.99, two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, a 1/2 pound ham. Ordered with country potatoes and Rye toast. The bacon was amazing!! Thick cut bacon and cooked to perfection. Overall the breakfast was your standard breakfast and definitely large enough to share. 8/10 Restaurant was clean, tables were cleaned off as soon as customers left. And restrooms were clean and fully stocked. Plenty of free parking. Waitstaff were friendly and efficient. The ambiance is pretty laid back. They also have an ice cream bar with 26 gourmet ice cream flavors.
