DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. I brought my truck here for an oil leak. They charged me $985.00 for oil pan gasket and rear main seal replacement. I took it home after they finished and it still had leaks next day. He told me to " bring it back and we'll take a look at it." I recieve it back after they attempted to fix again and it still leaks! Long story short. I had brought it back and forth throughout the whole year, every time I got it back, it still had leaks! 1 year later meanwhile NEVER FIXED LEAK. I bring it back in for them to try to replace the gaskets again. I receive it back drive down the street and all the sudden starts stalling and downshifting, a code on the dash says Transmission malfunction, engine fail safe mode. i bring it back to shop immediately , i have walk home, and next day i pick up the truck , i drive home and same thing happens! I crawled under my truck and see there was damage to the electrical wires and sensors of the transmission. The electrical connectors were glued , zip tied and black taped. Wires were all exposed and ripped up. I took my truck to a different mechanic ( actually a proffesional shop), I had to pay $1750.00 to fix the gaskets, and the damages caused by Tonys garage. They fixed the issues first try, NO LEAKS ! They informed me on the damages caused , and showed me how Tonys mechanics did not even replace the rear main seal or oil pan gaskets correctly. Mehn what can I say.. So I went to tony's since my ac has not been working. I drive a Honda CRV 2010. They told me they will install a dye so they can find a leak.. He called and said it's the evaporator and needs replacement. So I paid him around 500 bucks. After 2 months. It stopped working again. I went back and he said I dont hve to pay anything he will find the leak. Lo and Behold he called me and told me the condenser needs to be replaced another 500 dollars down the drain. He's a liar. I should have asked for a warranty and me stupid enough to pay for the condenser when he told me I dont have to pay anything. After 4 months AC stopped working again. I haven't fixed my ac because I've already paid at least 1200 dollars for nothing. So been driving this car for a year without AC. I just had to post this review while I can still remember. Tony Santos and his mechanics had done the absolute WORST repair work to my 2008 vehicle that I've EVER had the nightmare misfortune to endure in my entire life over the span of 12 months from Aug 2022 through Aug 2023. Their inexcusable negligent and shoddy workmanship repeatedly over and over and over and over again forced me to get the Better Business Bureau of Auto Affairs involved. I had 3 transmission engine mounts replaced with shocks & struts in August 2022 and after the $1,752 paid repair, I was given my vehicle back with a missing broken gasket belt timing cover (that they broke and removed to do the work and yet never replaced); they left the shocks & struts dangerously loose with bolts and screws unscrewed and untightened rattling under the hood; the engine was flooding gasoline into the engine stalling multiple times after initially picking it up and driving it off of the lot on Aug. 23rd, 2022; the airbag sensor was disabled and the mechanical lifts used to lift my vehicle had left MAJOR damage indentation to the bottom of the frame of my vehicle, leaving major visible bumps to the interior of the floor of my car. The fact that I had experienced increased blood pressure, migraines, headaches and overall illness from the chronic stress of dealing with their antagonism, arguments, conflict, their constant unaccountability, disrespect, mistreatment and the blatant gaslighting by Montasia Jordan who has been a condescending, uncooperative, unhelpful, rude and entitled office manager who calls herself "the accountant" had applied more critical and judgmental attention into my personal/intimate family life (and she doesn't know me personally whatsover) calling me "trash" and speaking to me in a patronizing manner, scolding me like I am her 3-yr-old child rather than the older, mature middle-aged paid customer who had actually been deliberately dragged through the mud by this atrocious repair shop. Montasia Jordan, Tony's office manager, pays more attention to my personal 'private' business than to the management of her actual accounting database to find the multiple invoices under my name & vehicle that she couldn't find. My having to repeatedly communicate airing these unresolved and repeated issues with these people has been like returning to a traumatic crime scene ad nauseam and re-experiencing that trauma by their intentionally deflecting triggers for 12 months! These people are unscrupulous, untrustworthy, rude and do terrible workmanship. I do NOT recommend EVER going to this shop, if you do not want to have your peace of mind destroyed and your vehicle severely damaged. DON'T DO IT. Go somewhere else. Went in for an overheating radiator. Tony, disguised as the devil said the radiator was fine but was interested in doing a 5,000 suspension. Due to confrontationS I asked for my car back I paid 4,200 towed my non-operable car elsewhere to get it running. I ended paying 2,300 to correct the suspension and had to replace the alternator, master cylinder, power steering, radiator...If this isn't WARNING enough then you're looking for trouble....AND they painted my engine orange without permission the engine color for the year should be Aqua Blue..AND THE JUDGE APPROVED!!! I feared the worst. After Tony told me to pull up into his garage he scanned the car and told me to tighten up the gas cap. Viola! That ended up being it. He reset my light and it was all good. He thinks that because you are a woman that you don't know much about cars..... is on a high horse and begins mansplaining things. Things I already know/knew. Literally he said nothing new to me. Went there on a Wednesday and was to busy to acknowledge me for what seemed forever then said way to busy to help me, but said to come back the following morning at 8:30am and could help me then. So Tony just called me. First the phone call started off sympathetic. I explained 3 experiences which I brought my vehicles in and after he went through his records he asked me to update my review because 2 out of the 3 experiences were is misleading and the 3rd repair never actually happened. Tony then proceeded to threaten me with legal action if I didn't update the review so here is my update. I brought 3 vehicles here. I thought the shop mislead me about all three vehicles but it turns out it was only 2 out of the 3 vehicles. Service 1 / 2 - Company van was never repaired by Tony, he did diagnose a faulty transmission and told me it would be several thousands of dollars. The check engine light was ignored for 1 week until I took it to another repair shop who told me the check engine light wasn't for a transmission but it was in fact for an O2 sensor. I got the repair done by another mechanic in Brea and still to this day have not repaired the Transmission. I feel like I saved a few thousand by having someone else fix the van and still not having to have the transmission. Still to this day the light has not come on for transmission service. Service 2 - I told my brother to come in and have the car serviced by Tony. It was a 2003 Mazda Tribute. The car had trouble starting and you would have to hold the key down in the ignition for 5 seconds to get the car to start. My mom who is like 70 years old also drives this car so we wanted to get it fixed. Tony said the car needed a Tune up and we got the car tuned up. Spent about $500 bucks and took the car home and it literally starting doing the same exact problem the minute we got home. We took it back to Tony and he said it was probably the Fuel Pump. Tony - We were counting on you to be detailed and do a good inspection to diagnose the problem. Telling us the problem was something else after we have spent $500 on a repair that wasn't the problem isn't fair to us as a customer and I feel is unethical. It also loses trust which is something that is hard to regain. Service 3 - Never happened I was mistaken and there wasn't a fault on Tonys part. 2 misdiagnosis on 2 different vehicles isn't very good in my opinion. Considering that I spent A LOT of money on my cutaway truck here I would've thought this place would value me as a customer and give me the correct information. I also work hard for my money just like you do. I depend on people to solve problems and be accurate. While I know mistakes happen you could've found a way to resolve the situation when I brought the tribute back but you weren't interested and you already had my $500. I wrote a metaphor about the fishing line in my past review and Tony took great offense to it. I'm sorry Tony - I didn't mean to hurt your feelings nor was that last comment meant for you. I did write I thought you were a nice guy. The manner in which you called me did not achieve winning me back as a customer. You tried to convince me I was wrong and you would not listen to me and you were constantly interrupting me. I know Yelp reviews help a business but so does having good customer service and doing honest work. If your team learns from this I'm sure you can delight future customers and get positive reviews from them to offset this one. Considering I have had the 2 experiences above I'm keeping the 1 star rating. I will write this and say I know mistakes happen and I hope you continue to work hard and win the loyalty of your future customers. Calling me and threatening me with a lawyer also wasn't the best thing to say. I wish you the best in your business. I know you've been doing this a long time and this experience is probably just a small negative in all the good work you do for others. Tony's has the best customer service. They are nice, polite, and not pushy at all. In case you're wondering, they do maintenance and service checks for FREE. I always go here before I take off for a long trip. One time, I came into check my car for maintenance before a Vegas trip - and they found nothing wrong - even said my car could go on to 300,000 miles! Ha. Next time I came in, with the same car, I was wondering if I needed an oil change - Tony said only if I wanted to because I could wait until after my trip to Northern California to get one - he didn't force me to getting one but I got one anyway, just to be safe. It cost about $45. Another time, I came in to check my car due to a strange sound. Turns out my windshield was put on incorrectly by the previous mechanic. Tony said it would cost $100 to fix it but he said I didn't need to (see, they aren't after your money - but your best interest). After further inspection, he showed me my broken axel. He told me to come in early another day to fix it soon. I also got my front brakes replaced, Tony is so nice, he gave me a small 5% discount! What I really like about this place is that they are friendly and understanding. I remember both mornings when I came in super early, Tony would ask me to come join their prayer circle. I think that says more than enough about the working environment and the workers. The people who work in the front end are nice, too. I have gone to Tony's Garage got years now. Definitely the best mechanic I have ever had. They are professional, friendly and quick. I can usually get my car back on the same day if I get it in before noon, even for the biggest jobs. The best thing about Tony however is that he is honest. He is a Christian and is very upfront about your cost and is thorough about explaining the problem and the repair. If you need to save money he can help you get cheaper parts. As a college student I depend on my car to get to work and school. Tony has even loaned me cars so that I can continue to go to work and school during overnight repairs. Tony is also an excellent resource if you are looking for a new car. He regularly goes to auction and selects only the best car and will sell it back to you for an extremely fair price. I bring my car in here anytime I need more than an oil change done to my car. They are really friendly, especially Tony. And most importantly they are honest. I have gotten everything from my transmission rebuilt, brakes replaced, to tune-ups. Tony will be up-front with you about the options you have for repair work and how much it will cost. Now it may not be the cleanest place, and it is tiny, but that isn't a concern of mine when going to a repair shop. Tony worked on my car after the catalytic converter was stolen , 5 months later I just picked up my car yesterday, and Long story short... He works on cars ahead of time without insurance approving supplements, and so now , because of his negligence I'm stuck with a bill close to $3000. Yes, I'm responsible to pay for something he was never asked to do. I don't know anything about cars yet he told my adjuster I told him transmission work had been approved ... He did it then told me it was done after the fact. My insurance never approved transmission work! He's the one that told me transmission work was approved, and when he got his check he messaged me saying they had made a mistake on the check for the transmission work for me to call them... That's how I found out it was never approved... I'm having a medically necessary surgery soon, had a death in the family, and now have to deal with this shady ass shit. I understand we all need money but preying on people for cash.... Yeah doesn't sit well with me! Never again.....PS... I Have screenshots where it clearly shows he was working on my car before the insurance did any approvals ! Everything I signed he would tell me they were approved supplements from my insurance! I'm broke, and now waking up paranoid wondering if my car is outside or if he sent out his people to repossess my car .... Horrible way to live ! I wish a negative 5 star review was possible because that's exactly the rating they deserve. After I went back to go have their screw up fixed on my car, it took another 2 freaking weeks for them to figure out what they need to fix on my transmission. First off, I already knew what was wrong with it because I took it to another shop to have it looked at. I can't believe it took them 2 weeks to figure it out when another shop found out in 1 day! Talk about incompetence! I only went here because of transportation issues. They offered a free rental, but even that turned out bad because the car felt unsafe to drive! To top it off, it's cars they sell and I feel bad for whoever buys them because they are in horrible condition. I have driven 2 different cars so I know. Anyway, they finally fixed my car and just when I thought the nightmare was over, they went and f#ck3d the $#it out of my expensive wheels. I washed my car right away after I got my car back and it was night and day in comparison to my front and rear wheels. Tony offered to have his own guys paint the wheels, but there's no way I trust any of his guys at this point and told him to pay up to the shop I went to have it painted. When he got the price, he had the freaking nerve to ask for a discount because he says that he didn't charge me for the extra parts he had to buy when I returned the car. First off, you d#mb@$$es test drove my car for 30 minutes. That means you checked everything and charged me already so that's your screw up from there and not my problem. I can go to longer details from this, but what ticked me off is making me pay for some of the damage that THEY CAUSED! I just got fed up dealing with these guys so I just agreed. On top of the major damage from wheels, they scratched up some areas of my car, but luckily, it was easily repairable with scratch removers. I just hope the job they did last awhile because I would hate for it to break under their warranty. I do not recommend this place anyone. They are incompetent and liars. When I first got there, I asked how much difference it would be to rebuild or swap transmission and told me it cost more to swap than to rebuild. I am writing this review because I'm upset about waiting so long for my car to be repaired. In 8/2013 I spoke to Tony about my 1966 squareback VW. I explained that my car had just been sitting on our property and some mice had chewed some of the cables. I explained that the engine had already been rebuilt and had been running before the mice got into it. Tony told me that it should be an easy fix and to have my car towed over. Tony did explain that he did have other cars that were a priority and he would work on my car in between other jobs. I told him that was fine because I was in no hurry. Tony has had my car since 8/2013. I have been paying registration and car insurance on a car for four years that I haven't even driven. You might ask why I didn't put the car on non-op. The reason is because my car had been parked in his parking lot and sometimes on the street. It had to have valid registration so anyone running the plates would know my car hadn't been abandoned. I've called Tony multiple times throughout the years to ask if he's made any progress on my car. He'd give me the runaround stating things like he's just waiting for a part he's ordered and once he got the part he'd say it was the wrong one. Then he'd say that all my car needs is a new carburetor but he can't find the part anywhere. I told him there was an auto parts place in Riverside that specializes in VWs. I gave him the phone # for this store on two separate occasions. I even called the store myself and had them call Tony so he could order the correct part. Tony even told me that water had gotten into my car's engine and that I should just get a new engine. I was shocked. First he tells me all it needs is a carburetor and when he can't find the part then all of a sudden I need a new engine? How does that make any sense? I had my niece go take pictures of my car a few months ago. She walked into Tony's shop to ask where my car was since it wasn't in the parking lot. She overheard someone say that it is in the "junk yard." Apparently Tony puts cars that he's not working on in a lot that he owns. They had to drive my niece to where my car was located. When she got there my car doors were wide open and the trunk and hood of my car were up. Why, you may ask. Somehow over the almost 4 years that Tony has had my car, my drivers side door got dented and would no longer close. I have no idea why the truck and hood weren't closed. So the inside of my car has been open to the elements and that's probably how water might have gotten into the engine. I called Tony right away after I saw the pictures. He said to not worry about my car door, that he'll fix it at no extra charge to me. He even told me to give him a couple more weeks and my car should be ready. That was months ago. I called him again today and was told that he was busy giving someone an estimate and would call me back in ten minutes. I haven't heard back from him yet. read more
