    Garlic Cheesy Bread
    Kat M.

I ordered takeout from Tony's on my very first visit and my experience was excellent. I was greeted immediately upon entering. As I took in all of the menu items and considered what to order, I noticed a genuine exchange between employees and customers as they were leaving. One customer gave them a compliment, saying that he was from New York and as far as pizza goes, they were able to compete with what he was used to from there. Wow. What brought me in was a craving for garlic knots so I decided to get the garlic cheese bread. And despite feeling drawn toward a pizza at first, I settled on an eggplant parm sub since the employee taking my order claimed that it was very good. He seemed trustworthy. At the last minute, I threw in a cannoli because it's my boyfriend's favorite dessert. I don't have too many thoughts on the restaurant environment itself aside from there being a large dining room with plenty of tables. Nothing fancy but... You don't need fancy when the food is this good! The eggplant parm sub was excellent and I am very picky about my eggplant parm. It wasn't overly breaded or fried. This will be without a doubt my go-to spot for this sandwich. I decided to order the large and I'm glad I did. Half was enough for one meal and I happily embrace leftovers. The garlic cheese bread was 10/10 and as for the cannoli, it did not disappoint. It was one of the best cannolis we have ever had.

It's by far the best pizza I've had so far in NC. As a former New Yorker I love the large slice. I must say I was a bit disappointed with the garlic knots.. they were dry. But the restaurant, the fried zucchini, the cheese or pepperoni slices are so good! I also not necessarily recommend the mozzarella sticks it might not be a Tony's issue but and overall mozzarella sticks... not enough cheese weirdly enough. I haven't had their pasta, I know their subs as bomb. Come over get a New York vibe feel get your self a slice or a pie to go. You will be satisfied and happy! Service is quick.

    Cheesesteak

I just made my second trip to Charlotte in a month and I just made my third trip to Tony's pizza in a month. I am absolutely hooked on their cheesesteaks. They are huge - the hubby and I can barely finish one. Juicy, tender chopped steak, gooey provolone and lots of grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms stuffed into a super fresh sub roll. It is as good as some that I've had in Philly. Really. Our third visit was for pizza. The XL authentic NY pie was too big to fit on our kitchen table. Once again - really. I thought the sauce had a little too much oregano but I'm the only one who didn't love it. Four famished family members couldn't finish this filling food (felt a little like Dr Seuss there for a sec!). My son is moving from Charlotte next month. There are a lot of things that I'm going to miss - Tony's Pizza will definitely be one of them.

    18piece Boneless Wings done wrong

Me and my boyfriend literally just left about 20 minutes ago (9:20pm 2-17-25) and headed back home only to see they gave us only 10 out of 18 boneless wings and they are now not answering the phone and it says they are closed. They don't even sell a 10 piece boneless wing. I will be calling back tomorrow for my refund.

15" New York Style Pizza with half Italian Meatballs

My husband and I are both Italian and love NY pizza. We had tried Tony's Pizza in the past, but it had been quite some time ago. Today we chose to dine in with our 4 year old son. The ease of ordering and paying at the counter was convenient. Our pizza came out piping hot and prepared as ordered. The crust was perfect for folding and the sauce had just the right amount of tang. I also appreciate this restaurant offering pizza by the slice. We will return to this pizza place.

My salad was full of the toppings not salad . I pushed it all to the side and ate the salad of what was in there and this is how much topping was left ughhhh where was the lettuce come onnnnnn

After a day of working in the yard we really didn't feel like cooking and wanted to try someplace new. Tony's was just what we were looking for! Fresh and tasty pizza and sides with speedy delivery!

    The Worx Pizza

I got the Workx pizza in 10". It was more than plenty for one person. I ate 4 slices and had 5 slices left over. Pizza sauce was salty. Not the best tasting pizza to me. My friend had cheese and anchovies on his and an order of mozzarella sticks. The anchovies were ridiculously salty.

Great for pizza if you're like on a lunch break. The atmosphere isn't anything to scream about. The customer service is ok. Im really starting to think that maybe its just this Galleria area. Tony's has a great chicken philly sub & the salads are always fresh. I have been coming here off snd on for years because of the food definitely not the service.

It was super busy, so I believe that a reservation is needed for the weekend, especially for larger groups. The vibe is a bit darker and moodier but with natural lighting- perfect for a date night but not limited to that. The espresso martinis, cocktails, beer, and mocktails were all delicious. They have amazing espresso martinis and aperol spritzes. The only dishes that I tried included the white truffle garlic bread, Sunday night lasagna, and the hot honey prosciutto pizza. Everything was delicious. A special shoutout to the Sunday night lasagna - WOW it was perfect. I'm usually not a huge lasagna person, but this changed that. I would 100% recommend this. Since we were celebrating my birthday with our parents, they were kind enough to give me a free dessert. I chose the salted caramel budino, and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend this as a dessert. Overall, we had a great experience! I would definitely come back.

Review for North Italia…read more has absolutely become one of my staples in Charlotte.** It's located in the heart of South End--a trendy, energetic neighborhood with beautiful outdoor dining--and one of the biggest perks here is easy parking, which, as any Charlotte diner knows, is always a win. Inside, the restaurant is gorgeous. Think large, comfortable booths, warm lighting, fresh flowers, and a lively but polished atmosphere. I always make a reservation through OpenTable--I'm too old to be waiting around to eat, and I might as well rack up some points and perks while I'm at it. One of the things I appreciate most about North Italia is their seasonal menu. It keeps the experience fresh and thoughtful, and you can tell the kitchen is paying attention to ingredients and timing. I usually start with a glass of wine-- a sparkling rosé or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc--something cold, clean, and refreshing. Bubbles are always a good option for me. They serve a delicious focaccia at the table, which I sometimes indulge in, but the dish that truly stands out--the one I still dream about--was a seasonal ravioli with butternut squash and crispy sage. It was beautifully balanced, comforting, and memorable in the best way. Other favorites: * The Caesar salad--perfectly dressed * The arancini and calamari--always solid starters * The pizzas, especially the cacio e pepe * And yes, the desserts are absolutely worth saving room for Brunch here is also a lovely experience. Sitting on the patio, eating alfresco on a sunny Sunday, reminds me so much of what I loved about California--being outdoors, enjoying great food, and taking your time. Thankfully, there's plenty of shade, so it's comfortable even on warm days. They do offer a happy hour. It's not the most extensive in town, but it's perfectly fine for drinks, a pizza, or a charcuterie board with friends after work. What keeps me coming back: * Consistently good service * Clean, beautiful space * Thoughtful seasonal dishes * Easy parking * Reliable quality Yes, it's a bit upscale--but it's approachable, welcoming, and dependable. And when a chef takes the time to create seasonal dishes that appeal to diners with curious palates, that deserves recognition. Bottom line: A polished, reliable favorite in South End that delivers great food, beautiful ambiance, and a consistently enjoyable dining experience.

Forgot to take photos of the bread because I was too busy enjoying it. Oops! We ordered meatballs as an app, and I had the lasagna for my entree. Both were pretty good, though I wish the lasagna had a bit more of a "noodle-y" bite to it, if that makes sense. I felt like I was just eating a bowl of cheese and sauce. The ratio of noodles to cheese and sauce didn't feel balanced, and felt more like lasagna soup, but overall, it was decent. I think I'd try something different next time. My husband had the mussels and said they were okay- basically mussels and tomato sauce. I moved here from up north 25 years ago and growing up I. The northeast sets the bar pretty high in terms of pizza. Portifino's is great. The sauce is sweet and portioned perfectly. The cheese is nice and salty, so you actually taste it. The toppings are flavorful, and again, well proportioned. My favorite is the Caprice which comes with tomato, fresh mozzarella, olive oil and fresh basil. It's amazing. The pasta dishes are excellent. I'd recommend the linguini with clam sauce and throw in some shrimp and broccoli for good measure. The Calzones are HUGE. I get mine with Mushroom, sausage, pepperoni and black olives.
