I don't know why all the rave reviews - this place is pretty basic. I ordered a 10" pepperoni and extra cheese, along with garlic knots. The pizza was pretty good but, skimpy on the pepperoni - one slice didn't have any pepperoni. The crust is really good! The garlic knots are good (and BIG) but, dense - a little too chewy on the inside. The marinara in which to dip them is not great. I went during lunch on a Friday and the place was pretty busy but not packed. Every table was dirty and when the place emptied-out to just a couple booths being occupied no-one came out to clean the tables. A 10" pie with 2 toppings, 6 garlic knots, and 2 drinks was $26. A bit pricey for what we got. I doubt I'll ever return but, only because I am not local to the area. The food and service was expected and average - not terrible. read more

My fist time trying Tony's pizza and I fell I LOVE! This place is amazing down to the staff and food! I love how nice the lady was while taking our order and even being so polite in helping us order though we asked questions being our first time! I'm not big on fru fru pizza. I don't need all the fancy toppings. Sometimes a gal just wants a simple slice of cheese. While this isn't the best pizza, it's pretty good. It's reminiscent of when I'm doing my usual walk through NYC and I stop in a 99 cent pizza store for a slice and a soda. The slices are huge and the ratio makes sense. The crust is crispy. The only thing they could improve is the salt. The slices are a bit salty. Could be the sauce. I do really like the garlic, cheese bread. I like the gooey cheese on some toasted, crispy, buttery garlic bread. Way better than what you get at like Papa Johns, dominos, etc. and it's only $5. Chea! My dude says the lasagna is good. I ordered online for delivery. The food was delivered on time and was fresh. The pizza Bianco was very good. I'm a sucker for Ricotta cheese and this pizza had plenty. The garlic and olive oil base was a perfect balance and not too overwhelming on the toppings. The crust was a bit chewy for me, something I've noticed with many pizza places around here, but I'm starting to think that's how New York style does it. The garlic bread was delicious and had enough cheese for any cheese lover. I've tried many pizza places in Charlotte, from the chains, to the new fad pizzas and it comes down to this: You can't get a better pie than a straight up cheese pizza at Tony's. The crust is delightfully thin, with crunchy edges, and the sauce is heaven (but a tad on the light side, you might ask for more) My advice: don't muck it up with a bunch of toppings. Recently came back here and yes, the pizza and concept is still good, just not the execution. Yes, I did go during the lunch rush, but it just seemed like I had to wait forever for two slices of cheese (reheated at that). The slices are still huge (NY Style) and definitely filling, but something is left to be desired. Unfortunately, they don't deliver, but the location wasn't too far from our house. Overall, the pizza was great. In terms of NY style pizza, this is the best we have had so far in Charlotte. The pizza is thin and flavorful, and the crust is chewy and crispy. The slices are MASSIVE, too. We ordered and XL pizza and it could barely fit in the backseat of our car.
