I think they have the best pizza. I ordered a few slices one was the florentine and other a veggie something. The lady at the counter was a doll. Excellent customer service is hard to come by. Owner was rude to my spouse when she asked if they had any Margherita pizza. Tables look like they came from a Chuck E. Cheese. Dirty floors and tables that had no Parmesan or garlic available on them. Definitely better places to eat than here. read more

The key here is to stay the hell away from the joint when the bars are closing because it's a shitshow! During regular daytime hours, this place is calm and mild-mannered in comparison to the rambunctious and raucous 2-3 AM crowd. So if you enjoy good NY style pizzer and wanna enjoy it in peace, then heed my word. Tony's serves us proper slices from a yuuuge 18" pie, the way it outta be. Nothing worse than these so-called NY style pizzerias out here serving slices from 16" pies. That shit is wack, son. Enough on that though. My favorite feature is that they use Grande cheese, which for the one or two Yelp stalkers I have know, is very important. How do I know? Because places who use Grande do not conceal the brand of their cheese. They mount a big-ass Grande Cheese 100 Percenter plaque on their wall for folks like me, who recognize the real shit. Downsides to Tony's? The don't deliver and they bake their pizzas on screens. totally not necessary with Baker's Pride ovens. read more

We came to Dunedin for a day trip from Safety Harbor. Being a transplanted New Yorker, I saw a sign for NY style pizza and had to try. I am always skeptical of NY style pizza outside of NY but I was impressed. I had a Sicilian slice which is more rare to find outside of NY. The crust is light and airy but crispy on the bottom, the way a Sicilian should be. The sauce and cheese are on point and brought back memories of my childhood. Excellent! read more

The seasoning was lacking and the ratio of sauce and cheese were disappointing. I will try again because it's a local spot and others seem to like it. The customer service could be better. Good pizza in a prime location for an after drinking fix. I want to give a 3.5 star but since that's not an option... I like the pizza, I really do, but I just like other pizza places better. we went here for dinner and it sucks to say that it wasn't up to our expectations, we were expecting true NY style pizza. the wings were heavily breaded which made it a little uncomfy to munch on. we also ordered the mozzarella sticks which weren't good at all, which sucks cause they're kinda hard to mess up! the marinara sauce was very thin in consistency and didn't taste very great. and the pizza wasn't very good either, the pepperoni tasted more like a perfume, and there wasn't very much sauce to match the cheese and dough ratio of the pizza. hopefully this can help ppl looking for pizza and wings for the night! read more

I ordered pizza from here last night. When I went in to pay for and pick up my pies the young lady at the counter asked me if I had already paid. I said no, to which she replied "sorry it was just shift change so I wasn't sure". Another customer jokingly commented that I should have said I already paid and gotten a free pizza. I said that I was just being honest. I then paid $39.14 for my pizza by credit card. Today I get a phone call from an extremely rude man who said he was calling from Tony's pizza and that I had picked up my pies with out paying. I relayed the story of the night before to him. He proceeded to tell me that I didn't owe $39 but $42 and that I wouldn't be getting so defensive if I had actually paid for it. I asked to speak to the owner who was apparently standing there during this conversation. And finally said it must be a miss understanding. Well to make sure there is no misunderstanding on my part I will post a pic of the receipt at the end of this post. Also he then tried to tell me that I ordered the same exact order today and not yesterday and that it was a man who called. Well, sir... 1. It's not my fault if your employees do not know how much to charge the customer, I don't work there, how am I supposed to know what I owe. I pay what the clerk tells me to pay. 2. Umm, yes, I am getting defensive, you just called and accused me of stealing and did not accept my story that I paid even after I told you that I have the receipt to prove it. 3. How as a business owner do you think it is ok to ever call a client and accuse them of anything. 4. As a business owner how could you stand next to your employee and allow him to speak to a client in such an unprofessional manner. 5. The number I called from and that they called me back in is my cell and I can assure you no one else called from it and ordered the same order the very next day and then proceeded not to pay. So you either have a problem with your system or a problem with your staff being completely incompetent. Again NOT the customers problem. From just glancing at other reviews I can see that this is a on going occurrence at this place. As I am not the only one having been accused of stealing something that they did not. Maybe you should take a long hard look the people you employee so you don't loose anymore customers. read more

Really disappointed tonight! The woman took forever to wait on us. Then when I gave her my card, she said was declined (it most definitely wasn't). She then asked for another form of payment. Just bought a house in Dunedin. I'm originally from Long Island. Gave Tony's a shot even though the overall rating on Yelp wasn't an excellent one. I got home and loved it. Nice thin crispy crust. Tasty pie. I'm always searching for a great slice resembling NY pizza and I'm happy. Then I look further on Yelp and see that these negative reviews are mainly from people with issues with customer service. I could give a rat's booty about that. I didn't go to charm school either. A few months back I was pretty disappointed to miss out on the Yelp event at Tony's. Well, I just so happened to be in Dunedin a couple weeks ago walking around with family. It was their first time in the area and we had been touring the Tampa Bay area all morning and early afternoon. Needless to say, it was time for some grub. Knowing that there were dozens of places to choose from in the area, I of course went to Yelp. Lo and behold Tony's was just a block away from where we were! No brainer - we dropped in. They had several pizzas on display for those that want to simply drop by and grab a slice. For my group of three, we were interested in one of their small pies that we could split. The workers there were friendly and got right to making our pizza. We grabbed a seat in the back away from the busyness of the front counter. About 15 minutes later our piping hot New York style pizza was at our table ready to be devoured. Overall, the pizza was really dang good. It the perfect combination of cheese, sauce and pepperoni. Naturally, there was a good amount of grease as well thanks to latter. They had parm, hot pepper flakes and Italian seasoning tableside to accompany the 'za. I think most remarkable and noteworthy about the pizza is how each individual slice held up thanks to the sturdy crust. It was tender yet not floppy nor overbaked, allowing for the perfect fold for those more seasoned NY style pizza connoisseurs. For those spending the day in Dunedin, Tony's really is an excellent option to grab some quality pizza without having to sacrifice a large chunk of your day in the FL sunshine. read more

Stopped in for two slices while a big event was going on in downtown. A slice of Pepperoni and a slice of cheese with a bottle of water to go. Service was quick and with in minutes of placing our order two hot and delicious pizza slices were ready. I have to say again, the service at Tony's was super fast even though downtown was packed by the time we ordered. Prime time lunch crowd was gathering tempted by the smell of garlic, melted mozzarella cheese and dough. We took our slices to-go and walked down the street. Stopping at some park benches, we sat down to enjoy our slices of pizza. If I could eat pizza every day, it would be Tony's pizza. They serve their pizza thin crust New York style and we wouldn't have it any other way! What a joke. Disgusting pizza. If you're giving this place high marks then I feel sorry that you don't know what pizza is. The primary problem with Tony's pizza is the crust is like cardboard: hard, dry, tasteless. Either they don't use yeast in their dough or its just extremely old and went flat. Also their sauce is tasteless and doesn't give any depth to the pizza flavor. This is no better than Papa Johns. Skip this place. read more
