Thought we'd give this place a go since I wanted Mexican and Italian for everyone else. Read the reviews and seemed a good choice until.... We get there and it's BYOB which we didn't know. Not a big deal. One server really busy. Several of our mussels in the appetizer were closed. Hubby got a sausage and pepper sub that he said was good. Usually go to Tony's for the pizza and decided to get an entree tonight. I got the eggplant and it was uneatable. It tasted like it was soaked in fish grease . When I told the waitress she asked if I would like something else I said sure I'll have a slice. While waiting for my pizza the manager came out with a nasty attitude and asked what was wrong with the eggplant ? I told him it tasted like fish grease . He proceeded to tell me " that's the way we make it " with a it's your problem kind of tone. I was very shocked and felt bullied. When the bill came we were charged ( with an up charge for the sauce ) for the eggplant. When my husband asked why we were charged for something that was thrown away the manager said just because I " didn't like it" it wasn't their problem. Tony's is a really good place to go for a seafood with pasta dinner. Always delicious and quite large - certainly enough to take extra home. Sauce is delicious and service is always good. Now for the pizza. They use fresh vegetables and mushrooms but yes, as many reviews have stated, the pizza can use some more tomato sauce and absolutely use a better quality mozzarella cheese - what they are using now is completely tasteless. This is overall a really good place to get your money's worth on solid Italian food (I have not tried the Mexican food because so much of it includes the mozzarella which I have already commented on.) I truly believe that with some small changes - better quality mozzarella, more tomato sauce on the pizza - they could become the best small restaurant in the area. My family will continue to go, because we believe they will continue to be better. read more

My go to local pizza spot. They have great food and delicious Mexican food as well. The owners themselves are Mexican which adds to the authenticity of that food. The one thing that I was not the biggest fan of was their Mexican pizza. It just didn't work for me. But I've had the Tony's special many times and just tried the chicken parm pizza. I ordered one if the specials when there for dinner with a group of friends recently. When my order arrived it was not the right special. I had ordered an entree with sausage & this was chicken. I told the older waitress who was not happy but instead of correcting her error she insisted that I had ordered the chicken special. I did not. She did not care that it was NOT what I had ordered & ignored my request to correct it. I finally had no choice but ate the wrong entree. It was disgusting. I took my family here who was visiting from out of state. I had told them Jersey pizza stacks up well, and Tony's didn't disappoint. We purchased a large plain pie and a pie they call the "gutbuster" which includes several ingredients such as Italian sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, and mushrooms. As to portions, we had more than enough for 4 with the two large pies. Very affordable for the amount of food as well. Ingredients seemed quite fresh, crust is well-made. Ordered delivery From Tony's today! I checked my bank statement and was double charged. I contacted Tony's Back to let them know that they double charged me for my order. This quickly escalated into a full blown argument with a waitress named Sandy. I was told no way they could have overcharged me it went on till I decided to hang up and call my bank. I was in fact charged twice for the food I ordered. Funny thing is that I have spent hundreds of dollars in Tony's and am a loyal customer. With this Pizzeria it's all about the money not the customer. My bank instantly refunded one $18.00 charge. Now I have to wait to see if Tony's Takes the second $18.00 charge out of my account then the bank will investigate. We order takeout from Tony's all the time. The wraps are really good. My favorite is the eggplant wrap, but the chipotle wrap was over the top hot and was almost impossible to eat. At first I questioned how they can make Mexican and Italian food, but all their food is pretty good. read more

The eggplant was slimy and gross. It had little seasoning and less flavor. I remember when a slice here was 25 cents. That's a long time ago. Tony's was our go to through the nineties. I've always been a fan. I championed the Mexican menu even though it really wasn't worthy. Tonight I ordered a salad and an eggplant parmigiana. What I got was a decent salad and eggplant parm sandwich. I would have forgiven the error but the sandwich was disgusting. I got a quick apology but little else by calling and registering a well founded complaint. I was told that customers usually specify what they want even though I had ordered directly from the menu and DID NOT specify sandwich. I'm trying to give it five stars, but one of the stars was covered. My husband and I ate there tonight with our adult son. I had combo fajitas and I was amazed at the portion size! The portion I took home filled up an entire huge takeout tin. My son had penne vodka which was delicious and once again, he ate and ate and ate and didn't make a dent in the portion. The bowl he was given is one you would use to serve a whole family! My husband had a dish with fresh seafood such as mussels, clams and shrimp over linguine. Same size bowl as my son's. He also took home a huge container. I forgot to mention the tasty side salad, taco chips with salsa for me and delicious Italian bread. For a Tuesday night, they were surprisingly busy considering we live in a small town. There was only one waitress working, so we did have to wait a long time. The people are so warm and anxious to please, that you overlook the wait time. Our dinner cost $60, which wasn't bad for the amount of food we were given and the quality and special tastes. We will never consider Olive Garden again when we can return to Tony's! We have been there a lot of times over the years, but this was the best meal we have had there. Its like they never heard of it before and threw an old salad on top of a pizza they pulled the cheese off of. Not any fresh ingredients and roasted peppers from a jar. Yes i can tell the difference. I would love to not even leave a star that's how bad this place is. I gave it benefit of the doubt TWICE and both times the same 60 year old waitress they have was horrible and I've never seen someone so rude. I went with my family the first time and she was not friendly at all and made me feel uncomfortable to even ask her for a juice. They seriously need to update the decor as well and their waitstaff. We tried to explain to her about the quesadilla being terrible and she did not say a word and walked away with the plates in the middle of us speaking to her and never returned for our check so we paid at the front desk. Very unapproachable both times! She doesn't smile and is extremely annoyed she has to wait on people even though the place is EMPTY. The plain pizza was good but the specialty ones look bad. We ordered their Mexican food as well, the chicken quesadilla was not a quesadilla but an enchilada style meal and the chicken was so disgusting it smelled as if it was boiled. Looks like they may be under new ownership since I first discovered this place about 4 years ago with an old friend. I started working in the area & drove by one day & remembered how good the pizza was from here. It's definately greasy, but pizza should be greasy! I have had regular cheese slices, chicken parm slices, white pizza & sicilian & they are all excellent. The staff is friendly & always helpful. Great pizza. The crust and bottom are cooked to perfection where you get a nice crunch, but not that stale/burnt kind of hard. The mozzarella is delicious and they throw tons of it on even when you just order a plain pie, which for some people could be more of a negative than a positive. Prices are fair and affordable. This place has some good pizza. The Buffalo chicken pizza, and white pizza are the best here. Wash that down with a Snapple or a water and you are good to go. I have come here about 5 times already and this place doesn't disappoint. I want to try the main dishes just to see How it is. Hopefully next time I can try. Been coming here for years and the owners are very nice. The pizzas are by far the best, the chicken Cesar salad is a good lunch option, and the veal and pasta is good for dinner because you can't beat the price for how much delicious food you get. I would totally recommend the garlic knots too because the sauce is fresh and they make everything from scratch. They also have a killer meatball parm sandwich! read more
