Came home to find that Top Notch Tree Company had torn up my grass, left branches and debris all over, and were on my property without permission -- even though they were doing work for the house next door, not mine. They left a hole in the yard, and when we asked them to fix the damage, we were told they're not going to do it. That's beyond unprofessional. No respect for private property, no cleanup, and no accountability. If this is how Top Notch Tree Company operates, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Very satisfied .price was 600 less than a competitor. They did a lot more for no additional cost. Did a fantastic job of thinning my fruit trees. Helpers were quick and efficient. Cleaned up everything. Neighbors saw them working and they did a huge job for them. They did a beautiful job on a second neighbors white birch tree. read more

We had a dead 40 foot cypress we needed removed. We got three estimates and Top Notch had the best price. They're also licensed and insured, so we went with them. They arrived early and got right to work. They were efficient and professional. They finished removing the tree and doing a thorough cleanup in less than two hours. They had to go on the neighbor's property to complete the job and even the neighbor said they did an amazing job. We would definitely hire them again. read more

I would give zero stars if I could... I hired this guy $1500 to trim the neighbor's trees to my property line so no leaves etc fall into my pool. Well, at one point, the guys stop cutting and start cleaning up. So I ask if they're done because there are still many branches/limbs still hanging over onto my property. They said that Bruce, their boss, said time to stop and get to the next job because they're running behind. I called "Bruce" and he start screaming at me that I just need to "be happy with what I got and to deal with it" and kept yelling at what a deal I got. (Quite honestly, I had another bid that was less, but mistakenly went with Top Notch). I was blown away! I have to now hire another tree trimmer to finish the job! Please beware of this guy. I've also heard from a neighbor down the street that they also had a bad experience with them. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Really bad customer service. I'm not sure if these guys are serious about doing business. I wanted to get a quote for a big landscaping project. They sent someone from their company to take a look and provide an estimate. A guy showed up, took measurements and left. No one from the company called me back. I would definitely not recommend this kind of a company to anyone. If they are so unresponsive even before the project starts then think what will happen once you pay an advance. There are many companies who provide amazing customer service and want to do business with you. Go for them. Stay away from this company. read more

The best landscaping team I have ever used. Bruce Howard is an actual arborist, so he was especially careful and knowledgeable with my tree trimming to keep them attractive and healthy. Not your typical chop job! Besides that, this company cleared the brush on my property superbly, installed a new, professional irrigation system, planted trees and ground cover and even did repairs on my stone and wood walkways. They came the day they said they would. They cleaned up their mess. Seemed like they did not do much for the 80 bucks we spent, but i guess that's just the high cost of tree trimming these days. I think this was our third time using Top Notch over the past 10 years. 7 years ago we had good service so we called them back for an estimate this winter. An old neighbor also used them and had good experience too. Bruce came by and gave careful examination of our five pine trees and a ficus in the backyard. He took his time and seemed to consider the health of the trees. He had a crew on another job in the neighborhood and was able to do the work that day. The most outstanding part of the service this time around was how our trees do not look bushwhacked or hacked. Kind of like a hairstylist who can cut your hair without it looking like it's been cut, our trees look natural after the service this time around. The crew was kind enough to clear our rain gutters of debris. We gave them a tip for going the extra mile. read more

These guys know how to handle tough situations--removed a huge tree overhanging my house cleanly and safely. Also had them come shape some trees damaged in windstorm; 3 years later the trees look great, hardly can tell where the broken branches were cut off. I also have some native oaks that need dead-wooding occasionally. I won't let any other arborist besides Top Notch touch them. They do excellent work for a fair price, which is all I ask. read more
