Walled in no customers except me, 4 woolen working. I think I had disturbed the person who waited on me. No "hi" or smile. The 20' counter where people eat was dirty. A simple wipe would've taken care of the problem. Four employees, only one working. The donut and Americano was fine, but for $6 it should be. I'm not sure, but I think they have their product shipped in from another location. If they want to capture the hospital staff, they really need to upgrade the customer service. read more

Cute little space with a nice, airy feel. You can tell they're brand new as they are working out the kinks a little - one person behind the bar had to tell another person how to make a macchiato. It turned out just fine :) Their donuts and other baked goods are, as always, delish. And service is very friendly, again, as always. I'm quite happy that they opened a location here - it's convenient, near a lot of other cool businesses, and is set up for success - being so near the hospital! I'm a big Top Pot fan, so I was pleased to see this location open on Madison (I'm in the area fairly frequently). It's just a smallish place, pretty much a display case with the usual Top Pot fare. There's a small bar of seats along the wall with maybe 8-10 stools? Definitely geared to the take-out crowd. Service has always been very friendly each time I've got in. And the coffee is the standard Top Pot coffee -- can't go wrong here. read more

In a morning that I was hoping to surprise my team with 2 dozen donuts to celebrate TGIF: I called this store. Asked if they could box them up, I'd pick them up shortly. The person answering the phone admonished me for not calling to place the order on the previous night. I arrived at the store and was the only customer there. They sold me 'pre packed' day old boxes. It wouldn't take much to improve attitude and customer service. Love the donuts. However will avoid this store until friendlier service. read more

The largest maple bar I've ever seen or eaten is here, seriously. I'm not a huge donut fan nor picky and usually just go for the maple bar and I'd say the one here got my morning set to go. It has a thick layer of maple on top with no filling inside! Great for me because the top has enough sweetness for me already. Stopped by the First Hill location before leaving town and we were glad that we did!! First of all, Top Pot is the official doughnut of the Seattle Seahawks, so for that reason we had to stop by and get the Seahawks doughnut. It comes in two varieties, a traditional cake version and a chocolate cake version - both were spectacular!! The chocolate is rich, moist and dense without being heavy, while the traditional cake is also moist and dense without being heavy. They both have just the right amount of sprinkles (jimmies) in traditional Seahawks colors. The other doughnuts we purchased were a glazed old fashioned, a glazed chocolate old fashioned and Ovaltine filled and an apple fritter. So far, all were spectacular and survived an 1,200 mile flight. Besides their Seattle locations, they have locations in Dallas & Richardson - how about opening a Las Vegas location next ?? Not sure why the reviews are low! I came here to grab some treats for the office staff and found the workers this morning were friendly and helpful. They let me know how long the wait would be for a fresh carafe if coffee - and it helped me to decide that would delay my morning. Great donuts and good service. read more

This is my first time staying in Seattle and I had a donut craving. So after my jobs conference I catch an Uber to top pot on Madison and they were closed (430pm). The website clearly states they are open until 6pm today. My Uber driver suggested I go to the location on 5th Avenue plus that's the one Obama visits when he's in ten. Every time I go in to the Madison store appx. 11:30 a.m. to 1pm, which is the only time I can take lunch and go, the store is out of the salted caramel doughnuts. I have made mention of this to the clerks as well. Today I came in and same story. I suggested to the clerks there that this should tell them something. I went in for a quick doughnut and coffee. The service was amazing, the maple bacon bar was fabulous, and the coffee was so smooth. I already had their cookbook which I use at home, but the customer service isn't as good at my house ;p I was so happy with my experience. read more

I came here while my husband was receiving cancer treatment across the street at Swedish. It's appalling that none of the staff are wearing masks. I'm angry and disgusted that they are in business near vulnerable populations and not abiding by the masking guidelines established by our state. I love their donuts but not worth the risk. I was so happy when Top Pot opened right by my work place. Disappointed to find out that they don't make them at this location, but get them delivered. The choices are sparse at times, and I've had a few dry doughnuts, which totally sucks since you are paying a premium price for them. I think they missed the boat on not having this as one of their stores to make their goods "in-house", since it is located centrally to a lot of medical buildings and offices. This is a pretty awesome doughnut shop! After hearing about it, and then seeing the place I had to stop in when I was in Seattle and was impressed. Good Coffee, good doughnuts and great customer service. We don't have these in LA but it's totally comparable to Randys down there (although a bit more expensive) or some other big ones if not better. Will totally stop by again while up here! I had some time between appointments at the Hospital, I was hungry, mid-morning, and I only wanted a snack, and voila, there was Top Potter across the street. I should have known something was amiss when I saw the donuts stacked in little baskets, I ordered a maple bar(my favorite) and a milk, it came to $4.98!WTF! Five dollars for a donut and a milk. The donut was either day old, or not well made, because it seemed stale. I'll stick with Henry's, half the price, and twice the freshness, seriously doubt I'll ever be back. read more

Possibly the most disappointing $5.23 I've ever spent. Went in for an apple fritter - they were all out (at 1 pm on a Friday). I got a glazed twist and Bavarian Crème(?) instead. Both were mediocre at best . Texture was as if they'd been out of the over for at least 5 hours. Weren't soft and chewy like what I would normally expect from a donut. The Bavarian Crème had a cream filling, which was actually kinda nasty. I didn't even finish it. Top Pot provides donuts to QFC, so I wish I had just gone to my local QFC (and they're less than half the price there, too). Lesson learned - avoid Top Pot. read more

I was excited to try this place because of the reviews I've heard but I was greatly disappointed. The old fashioned donut wasn't very good the glazed one my mom got was ok but not great which it should be for over $2 each. My mom got a drip coffee which she ended up throwing away it was so gross and I got a blended mocha which I couldn't finish because of the taste. Way too expensive to not be good. read more

1st time to TopPot doughnuts. I had a glazed raised doughnut and my wife had a Bismark or custard filled. I thought they were pretty good. I come from a bakers family and have made and fried more donuts then you can shake a stick at or should I say donuts sticks. The raised donut had a very nice white raised area with the top and bottom nicely browned. The flavor was pretty good and the donut was tender a little heavier then I would like but certainly not greasy. The glaze was a little heavier then I like but had good flavor probably sat a minute or so before it was glazed. My wife's Bismark I thought was good as well. Chocolate had a nice fudgy flavor the custard was good as well. Definitely not greasy very tender a good solid custard donut. read more

Doughnuts are amazing and have some variants like classic donuts and salted caramel that are hard to find in other places. The coffee (particularly the mocha) is super yummy and one of my favorites to get in Seattle. I always take visiting friends here, and they are always impressed. read more
