I saw, that thus restaurant was right down the street (I was looking on Yelp.) I saw that they had Beef Rangdang, and was so very excited. I had made this dish one time before. It took me forever to make. I made this dish, because I saw Mr Chef Gordan Ramsey make it in a show he is on. I love making dishes that is unfamiliar, but looks great. I ordered the Beef Rangdang, and the Pad-su-ew. I ordered pick up. The restaurant is clean, and inviting.. The man taking and handing out the orders, was kind. He didn't talk much, but he was kind. He just asked for the name, handed me the order, and that was it. The Beef Rangdang, was soooooooooo doggone tender. It was savory, rich, thick and comforting. It's marinated Beef, with different types of spices, braised in its juices. It came with white rice....uhhhh, you talk about something amazing and filling. I really had high hopes for this meal. It is hard to find Thai in Mexico where we live so was anxious to eat here on our visit. We have had their food a couple of times using takeout for family gatherings and enjoyed the food and flavors. We started with Thai spring rolls. They were good with a nice dipping sauce. The tom yum soup flavor was good, but it lacked a bit in the spicy department. The coconut chicken cream soup tastes like what it sounds like. Nothing was remarkable about it. For the entree we had the spicy basil leaves with ground pork and the Penang Char Kway Teow. The basil leaves with ground pork were flavorful, and they did a good job. However, my dish, the Penang, lacked on the flavor side but made it up on the portion side. The squid and shrimp were very good with my dish. Overall, we would come back to try some other dishes. T A S T E For the sake of my personal satisfaction, and happiness, I decided to go with a classic that I felt could do me no wrong. Add an appetizer I got the Thai spring rolls. These are just regular spring rolls with vegetables inside and they come with a sweet sauce. I really enjoyed them. I didn't miss the meat at all. For a main, I ordered the spicy Thai fried rice which is really basil fried rice with spice. I ordered the spice level two out of five because I remember last time I came here and I ordered three out of five and it was extremely spicy. But this time the two out of five was not spicy at all so that was kind of disappointing, but I got chili sauce on the side and added more spice to the level that I desired. As I was ordering I asked for a chicken fried rice and shrimp and our waiter suggested that we do shrimp fried rice and chicken because you get five more pieces of shrimp that way and it's only about a dollar difference. I really appreciated him pointing this out because I feel most waiters wouldn't do that. The rice was good. I really couldn't complain. I would say that the tomatoes that they cut up on the side were definitely from the fridge because they had a grainy texture to them but they're kind of garnishments for most people and nothing to care too much about. The shrimp was really big and the chicken tasted good. It was a big enough portion to be satisfied but not enough to take home unless you weren't that hungry. I wish they would add some wings to the menu. I also want to note that the food came out in less than five minutes and that was initially worrisome but it tasted fresh so I didn't mind. S E R V I C E Our actual waiter was pretty good. He was really attentive until after he delivered our food, and which it took him a while to refill our drinks. But he was pretty much the only waiter in the entire restaurant and you really couldn't tell. The only negative part about our service was as we were still eating they delivered our check. Personally, I thought that Top Spice was a little expensive compared to most other Thai food places while not being worth the difference. We ordered a plate of roti for a table of 3 and received a singular piece, whereas other places will give at least 2 if not 3 for the same price. The red curry was indicated as a spicy dish but wasn't spicy at all. The highlight of the night was when my friend found a hard, small, tiny rock or bone in her pad see ew, and she said that if she had bit any harder she think she could've broken her tooth. The soup that comes with the lunch orders wasn't great, but everything else was good, with bright balanced flavors and fresh ingredients. Squid salad - we order this medium spicy (4/8 level). The greens were fresh, the squid was poached perfectly so it maintained a fresh snap while also being very soft, and the dressing was tangy and balanced with the chili pepper. Spicy Squid & Basil - SO GOOD!! This reminded me of the more authentic Thai flavors I was spoiled by when I lived in Thailand. That is hard to find here in the US. The balance of the tangy, sweet, and spicy sauce pairs perfectly with rice! Kway Teow Lunch Special - at first this tasted a little bland to me, but once I put the Spicy Squid and the Smokey noodles side by side they became a pretty impressive complement to one another. The smoke on the noodles really makes this dish, and the flavors open up as you eat. All the dishes we ordered had seafood, all of which tasted fresh and well prepared. The fried calamari looked and tasted like sweet and sour chicken, the beef pad see u had over-charred pieces of beef and broccoli (also not as flavorful as I'm used to with Thai restaurants), and the shrimp fried rice was ok. The snapper didn't look very appetizing so I didn't try it. Ice cream tempura was ok. The restaurant was kind of busy, but most people were eating or finishing up. Even so, service was very slow in the beginning. My mom ordered the snapper, and they brought out her rice 15 minutes before they brought out the snapper. So as we had our noodle and rice dishes, she was still waiting for the main part of her dish. I was visibly unimpressed with the service. One of the servers started being more attentive towards the end and changed my total experience from bad to ok. Very tasty but was a tad greasy. I mean....I still ate it, obviously. It was good. Got my usual spicy fried rice with beef. The beef was a bit overcooked, but I did get this to-go and drove to my hotel before eating it. It was in the plastic to-go container for probably 15 minutes before I started eating it. The entree was very tasty, and again had quality ingredients, but was also served a little lukewarm, and contrary to the name of the dish (and the reddish color), was only faintly spicy. Still, it was good, and I'd get it again, thought there are other items here I'd like to try first. Not only is the taste still consistent all these years, the quantity they give for the price is really good given the prices these days. They still have a lunch special where you can get a soup and an entree for somewhere between $10-$13. This time my family and I ordered the panang curry, masaman currry, spicy fried rice and pad see u. The panang curry was quite tasty and there was a good amount of chicken on there. The masaman curry was very creamy however not too heavy. The spicy fried rice was my favorite and overall wasn't spicy so next time I plan on ordering it with more spice. The pad see u noodles were quite tasty as well. Overall, my family and I were stuffed after trying to finish everything. They also came out with our dishes within 10-15 minutes of ordering. Been coming here for more than a decade. I can't find that chicken rendang at any other establishment. That alone is enough for the stars; the catfish basil and spicy basil fried rice are great at times. Elaborating on the "at times," there is a consistency problem for the food and service. Sometimes they ask for preferred spice level in-person or over the phone, other times not so much. Technically they have a 1-10 scale for spice (10 spiciest), but I heard they actually do have spicier levels than this too if you mention it. My family and I stick to 7 whether we are asked or not....Sometimes this can mean spicy, other times it is just regular lol Service can be spotty and can feel like a crowd of servers just standing around. For pick-up orders, they can get things wrong over the phone. Once this led to an anaphylactic disaster at the house. Portions have been decreasing, and I swear every time I go (which is pretty often) prices are increasing by $1-$2 I have pretty much had everything on the menu. Spicy Basil Leaves with Ground Chicken is a relatively new addition to the menu that is fire. The masaman curry has avocado in it but is a hit-or-miss with spice levels and varies a lot. Noodle dishes are fine (fine options of Penang Char, Spicy Seafood, and Thai Spaghetti). We usually stick with the chicken protein options, but their shrimp dishes are great expensive options too (honey butter and sambal udang). For the uninitiated, the red/green curries and pad thai are nice intros into the cuisine. Maybe start the meal with the roti canai and coconut soup (liked their older recipe of soup better). Wash things down with the overly sweet Thai Tea (love-hate relationship). Overall, a solid establishment that has survived the test of time. read more

The portion was pretty sizable. I once had the pad Thai as takeout, and the noodles were jam packed in the to go container. For the dine in experience, the portion size was fairly large as well. The Thai tea was good (as you can't really mess this up) and came in a regular glass. The pad Thai sat in a large deep dish bowl and was delish. There's nothing discernibly wrong with it as you also can't really mess this dish up. The flavors and ingredients were authentic and not Americanized. The significant other's masaman curry tofu & potatoes were really good, and it was also a decent size. The tofu and potatoes were cooked in butter, coconut milk, onions, avocados, and cashew nuts. Don't feel compelled to eat all the rice, just enjoy the curry if you have to choose. -- A tip from him as he wanted to finish all the food. -- The service and food were great. I was in the area during lunch time on a Saturday and was in the mood for Thai. I am a huge fan of grub hub and top spice offers to go ordering to go through them. I ordered the Broccoli and Mushroom with shrimp and a order of spring rolls. Although it was lunch time the grub hub app only offers one option which is a small portion at the regular price. I was able to note that I wanted my entrée spicy. My order was ready earlier than the site suggested so the restaurant called to inform me my order was ready 10 minutes early. The restaurant staff was super friendly when I went in to pick up my order. I was impressed with the spring rolls, they were crispy and delicious. My meal came with coconut soup and it was so yummy, it comes with the lunch specials. We used to go here fairly frequently, but hadn't been in a while. Last night, we were really disappointed with the flat flavors of our dishes. My husband and I both ordered items that should have had some zing (spicy basil chicken and veggie hotpot) but were just bland and watery. The roti was too crispy and lacking the chewy center that just melds so nicely with the sauce. Service was never really a strong suit, but our wait staff barely engaged... they could have been robots.
