I'm so glad Top Tea + Espresso moved closer to us after the old Friend Cafe had to close. Now they are right down the road from us! I'm allergic to dairy and soy, and so the quality of the tea itself is super important to me. It's usually hard to find more than one or two non-dairy teas at boba places, but Top Tea has delicious fruit teas!! And they also offer almond milk!! The almond milk Tiger Milk is the most delicious thing I've ever had, and they also have a fantastic Ginger Black Milk Tea (sooo strong!). The parking in Liliha Square can be a pain, but it's worth it to get this tea! read more

If I'm not mistaken I believe this place is owned by "friends cafe"? Or rebranded I'm not sure. They were using materials that say friends cafe printed on it. This place is located in a shopping center in kalihi around the corner of TIMES super market. Very tiny shop but decent decor. Because of COVID you go in they take your order and then you go back out to wait for your order. Once it's done they bring it out and place it on a table outside for you to grab. Service was not bad at all. I'm not sure how long the promotion will be to either have 10% off of your order or "Star points". I ordered the brown sugar tiger milk tea and my husband got the ube taro milk tea. My drink was kind of lack luster compared to other places I've had brown sugar tiger milk tea. I mostly tasted just the milk. The ube taro was esthetically pleasing as for taste not what I expected. I'm assuming it's real taro being used so it wasn't as sweet. I would say the prices are average for milk tea not cheap but not overly expensive. Would I try this place again? I definitely wouldn't mind going back. read more

Came here because i noticed it when i was looking for new restaurants open under yelp. thought i give it a try since majority of milk tea shops are in town. the shopping center may look grungy but when you're from and live all the way from the west side, you work with what you got. you see the signage from the parking lot but you have to pass subway and it is in the back. all the way at the end of the hallway. when you go in, it's super bright and clean so you feel at ease. there was a line so i assumed this was good spot. the place is small so it gets crowded when there is a line. but there's nothing nobody can do. but if you wanna study, i don't know if it's a place you wanna go at when they get busy. plus the parking had a 2 hour limit, but again nothing we can do. the good thing was even though there is a small staff, they were really quick! plus they are open till 10 which i'm surprised for liliha side. decided to try it with the cute carton. it only comes in a medium size so don't let the pictures fool you. if i'm not mistaken, it's an upgrade so it is $5.99 ON TOP of the medium size price. and they wrote my order on a posted note and not on the plastic carton. thank goodness! my thai milk tea had a floral taste. it wasn't a buzz killer but not my speed or what i'm used to. but it was still good for me to still finish it. plus the boba was nice and not hard and they didn't put a whole lot of boba which i personally appreciate. the only thing is that the carton is hard to drink with a straw if the lid is still on. i couldn't reach the bottom so i had to take the lid off. so i would probably recommend a different lid design or a boba straw that bends? but it was something different! so i appreciate it! from a business point of view, that's what makes you stick out and make people wanna come. plus it's 5% discount if you come and reuse again. if it's your first time, check out the yelp app where you can get 25% off. but you have to go through the process and actually check in to get the discount. so i would probably start it in line so you don't hold the line up. it made my sister wanna come again and she never had milk tea before! lastly, the register girl Christina was very sweet. she had good composure when it was busy and made recommendations when i wasn't sure. plus she was very kind, extremely patient, and didn't make me feel like shes judging me like how other places do. plus she was smiling the whole time which majority of milk tea places don't usually do. sometimes, it's the small things that can make a difference. but keep it up girl! good on top tea for hiring her! i think because of her, it prompted me to actually do a review after just coming from there. totally appreciate the service! if i'm around town since there is slim to none boba/milk tea places on the west side, i wouldn't mind stopping by again with my carton in hand! read more
